Bubba

9/11/2016: It is with great sadness that we have to share the news that our dear sweet senior Bubba passed last night.  We know everyone’s first reaction is one of sadness and grief; however in my opinion, Bubba’s story is one with a happy ending. Bubba touched many lives is a very short time. From the volunteers that helped transport him from Louisiana to Dallas, to those that donated money for his care and most importantly his two foster families that opened their homes and hearts to an old almost blind, almost deaf bulldog that had so much love left, it was amazing. If it were not for each of those volunteers and Rescue, Bubba would have been euthanized all alone, in a cold loveless shelter in Louisiana. Instead Bubba spent his last months knowing more love than he had in a long time. He passed away peacefully in his sleep in a Home surrounded by love. I know loosing a Bulldog is a horrible thing but Dr. Seuss said it best “Don’t cry because it is over, Smile because it happened.”  So please remember to keep Bubba’s foster parents in your thoughts and prayers and smile because he was truly a great Bulldog, and may he enjoy his days running and playing at the rainbow bridge.

8/29/2016 Update: Bubba…where to start…being deaf blind old and stubborn he does really well his nose is definitely his saving grace. he’s not had but maybe 3-4 accidents in the house and it was only pee.. he loves to go for a truck ride even if its around the block..he also loves to roam the sidewalks.  let him out the other day thinking we won’t go far, he took me for a walk about 50 yards then turned around and we headed back…he does really well getting around inside as well as outside the house and he loves his windows to lay by and sun himself.. he has a great appetite eating 1 big cup in the AM along with a fried egg on Saturdays and a 1 big cup in evening we do a little wet to help soften the dry food. he barks when he’s in need of something breakfast, potty breaks, dinner, potty break, treat time, potty break  ha ha..this guy still has a lot of life left in him. he gets along great with our two bullies they actually pay each other no mind he really just want human affection his little tail spins like a helicopter win he walks next to the couch and i run my hand over his head and his back.

7/29/2016 Update: Please welcome Bubba as the newest member to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family.  Bubba joins NBBR from the great state of Louisiana.  Bubba is an English Bulldog who was very much loved in his previous life.  Bubba’s owner suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and was no longer able to take care of either of them.    With no other family members able to take Bubba, he was in desperate need of help.  Our friends on the English Bulldog Rescue FB page were able to help Bubba make the journey from Louisiana to Dallas where he will live until he finds his new forever family.

Bubba is an 8 yr. old male that weighs approximately 50 lbs.  Bubba appears to be almost completely blind (he can find his way around once he learns the lay of the land) and at least partially, if not completely,  deaf.  In addition to these two health issues, Bubba has a tumor on his lip that will need to be looked at this week at the clinic.

Bubba had a very eventful/stressful day yesterday – he made an 8 hour trip across state lines with 3 wonderful ladies that made sure he was as comfortable as possible, and then joined his new foster family.  With all that travel, it didn’t take long for Bubba to settle right into his new living arrangements. He quickly got himself a drink of water, ate a good meal, used the facilities and promptly claimed a spot on the floor to take a nap.

Bubba is a very chill senior guy that is looking for a forever home that is calm and quiet where he can live out his golden years. Does that sound like your house? If so, please consider helping this southern gentleman and offering him a forever home
