10/28/2017 Update:

Dudley was ADOPTED!!!!  Dudley’s journey to find a forever home has ended with the happiest of news…. he is now the latest NBBR Bulldog to officially become a NBBR alumnae.

Prior to joining the NBBR family, Dudley was just hours away from being euthanized.  This story is one in a million. To say Dudley radiates joy is an understatement. His enthusiastic nature brings a smile to anyone who meets him.

Dudley came to NBBR weighing in at 53lbs and in just 1 month’s time (with a bump in the road from an unknown fever for 4 days) gained 13 additional lbs. He has such a resilient spirit that we knew nothing could keep him down, because he really is one of the most happy, go lucky, loving and loyal dogs out there.

He first met his forever family at the Martin House Brewery event where they immediately fell in love with him and knew he was the one! After the 2nd meet and greet it was evident that Dudley would thrive in their home. Dudley now  has a little fur sister who loves to play with him.  She has just as much energy as Dudley and they would run and play together all day if you let them. He also has another fur sister, but she’s not about running and playing with a big goof ball like Dudley. But more than that, he has a family that adores him and a human best friend that radiates just as much joy when they are together. Dudley will never be without love and alone again thanks to his forever family.

And if all the good news wasn’t enough… Dudley’s first night in his new home he  got to sleep in the bed with his new best friend. Congratulations to Dudley for finding his perfect forever home and to his family for recognizing the perfect dog for them.

10/9/2017 Update:

Update from Dudley: What an exciting week I had last week…..I got to my new foster parents house and fit right in and the whole family fell in love with me. My big foster brother is showing me the ropes and I think he kinda likes me too, he lets me lay by him and he will even lick my ears. He did have to tell me that I couldn’t play with the cats like I want to because I am still kind of a puppy and don’t know I am playing a little too rough for them, but I think I have got it down now and if not he will let me know!!!

I had to go to the vet last week so they could fix me and I was kind of out of it on Thursday so my foster mom let me get up on the furniture to sleep. Oh and I also gained a couple of pounds this week too!!!

My foster brother and I went to this place that let’s dogs on the patio and I loved it. I got to eat my food there and my foster parents even ordered us some grilled chicken to put in our food, it was SO GOOD. I made some new friends too, they all told me how adorable and handsome I was……I love people, they are so nice to me!!  OMG, OMG, THEN, on Saturday I got to go to this place where there were A LOT of Bulldogs and that excited me!! When I rounded the corner and saw all them I go so excited that I pulled my foster mom over there to meet everyone. Again, everyone told me how handsome I was, and I got so many kisses and hugs that day I did not want to leave, but sadly we had to. I even got a bandana that I did not want to take off that night because I was sure that was what made me so handsome, but my foster mom told me it wasn’t the bandana, but that it was my face……. she then proceeded to do what she calls “kissing my face off”……I like that game, I give kisses back!!!

Dudley will not last long!  He is the sweetest, most gentle, LOYAL and loving dog you will find. He can sit, lay down and is crate trained as well. When you go to put his harness on, he steps right into it, he is a very smart dog!!!  He will sleep right next to you all night, and it’s probably because he is afraid of being alone again. He is a people pleaser and wants you to know that he is by your side, he always looks up at you for reassurance that you are still there and haven’t left him. If you haven’t gotten your application in and you are interested in adopting Dudley, get on over to the website and get it filled out!!

10/4/2017 Update:  Well, somehow Dudley broke out of his kennel today sometime. My daughter just got home and he greeted her at the door. She looked at his kennel and he squeezed out of the bottom of it where the door closes and it’s one of those ones that has the dual lock on it. He THEN jumped the baby gate and had free range of the house………I am sure the cat’s went REAL HIGH UP today!!!! LOL  Correction to Dudley’s original welcome, he is best in a home WITHOUT cats.  While the statement he likes cats is still appropriate, “like” could be as a snack.  He definitely has a chase/prey drive, so a cat free environment would be best for Mr. Dudley She said she ran to my bedroom to see if they were ok and then check the rest of the house…..but apparently he didn’t mess anything up in the house that she can find yet. Oh Dudley is a character.

9/29/2017 Update:   Please welcome Dudley to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family.  Dudley is a 3 year old male Olde English Bulldog that weighs 53 lbs.

Dudley joins the NBBR family as a stray. Dudley was found roaming the streets alone and was taken to a high kill shelter.  Lady Luck was looking out for Dudley since one of the NBBR volunteers happened to see his listing on the shelter page.  On the very same evening as our volunteer saw Dudley, the shelter staff reached out to NBBR to see if we could help.  The shelter staff was worried for Dudley’s safety.  It had been determined if no one had stepped up to save Dudley by Saturday evening, he would be euthanized.  The NBBR group sprung into action to make sure Dudley was safe.  However, it took almost another week to get Dudley sprung from the shelter and safely in Rescue’s possession.

After 3 separate car rides, Dudley had made his way from the shelter to the DFW area where his first stop would be the clinic.  At first glance it is apparent Dudley is very thin.  The good news is that while thin, Dudley’s labs all say he is healthy. No Heartworm and all lab results were within the normal limits.  Dudley did have an unusual intestinal parasite requiring a special antibiotic. In addition to the parasite, Dudley will need to be neutered. He has a condition know as cryptorchid, this is a condition where only one of his testicles descended.  This condition could make his neuter more difficult, depending on where the non-descended testicle is located.  He is scheduled for surgery on Thursday of this week.

Dudley’s personality is one in a million to say the least.  You can not help but smile when you see this goofy, happy go lucky guy.  Dudley radiates joy.  It is hard to describe, but he is such a great dog. He gets along with EVERYONE and EVERYTHING (He even likes cats).  For those of you looking for the best dog EVER, you had better fill out an application quickly because once word of Dudley’s ruggedly handsome looks and charming personality get out, he will be snapped up before you know it.  Snooze you loose.
