11/5/2017 Update:  Hi bully buddies and families, Hammy checking in. I know we are always running a little behind. Between my FMomma fighting with this pad thing we have to use to send my updates and the grandbabies being here, it’s been a little wild around here. Oh and I had to go see Dr H. I usually get super excited when I see my FMomma get by lil’ backpack ready to go somewhere. Well after that visit, I was wishing I would of played possum and not got out of bed. I had to have surgery on my throat and I am a big baby when it comes to pain and it did HURT!!! And the pain meds kinda made me a little wacky. Dr.H said I was very vocal after surgery. I made my FMomma cry on our way home because a was being a winey baby. “SHE LOVES ME!” This was last week and I am just getting over the worst of it. I know it was for my own good but this bully bully was not a happy bully.  I had a follow up visit on my swollen cheek, which got GOOD news, it’s all better and probably was just a infections.. Woof woof, shhhh……my f brother and I sneak out in the back and eat the pecans fallen from the sky or from somewhere, but we have to bite them really hard to get that tasty thing in the middle. FMomma always saying  NO NO NO Hammy. I got that NO and OUT word down.  Just don’t like hearing it, it’s not in that sweet sounding voice, like when she says, “come on Hammy Hammy, awhhh such a sweet pretty lil’ boy with lots of xoxoxoxoxo.. I love to play with the grandbabies in the back. Have to admit thou I did, I did get in trouble for getting in the treehouse with the kids and sliding down the slide. I didn’t know that was a NO NO NO ,my human kiddos got me in trouble for saying,” Cum on Hammy ,you can do it.”  Check out my new toy, it almost as big as me and I just love it. 🙉 With all that has been going on, I haven’t been able to have my play date with lil’ miss foxy down the street. 😍  We are still working on my bully aggressiveness towards other poohes.Doing a little better and was told as soon as I got to feeling better this week, we were going to be crack down on some of my onryness. Enjoy my pics, I’ve got good at this whole picture thing.

10/23/2017 Update:  Hammy here 🐕 with my weekly update. Last week was a little crazy. Gave my FM a little scare with this knot on my jar that just came up out of nowhere. It looked like I was storing treats in my big ol jaw. Didn’t feel to good and had to take a trip to Dr.H. Which isn’t the quickest trip for us. FM packs the car like we are going for days.  When I see her get the bright pink ice chest, loading drinks, treats and those really cold things she takes everywhere to put on my neck to keep me from getting hot. I have another doggy bag that she puts my toys, my bone, my wipes . Boy howdy I am a handful. I even get the whole back seat to myself and she makes it very comfy. My foster Grammy usually goes with us so she can drive and FM keep me company.. Dr.H looked at my jaw and stuck this big needle in it and pulled some pretty nasty stuff that he sent off to make sure it’s not anything bad. He is thinking it is a infected salivary gland. He hooked us up with some meds and on the road again we went. I am feeling much better and the big lump is gone. Now if we can just get these ears under control. I minute it’s bacteria another it’s yeast. Those must be some hard suckers to kill. My FM is always cleaning and picking at me,but I’m not complaining….I I love all the attention. I’m a little spoiled and center of my FM life. Well cant forget about my foster brother and foster kitty 🐈. I love them and surprisingly qet along just fine with them. I have to admit I can get a little wild and out of control which both of them let me know. My kitty slaps me on the head and my f brother shows his teeth and growls. not a pretty sight!! Woof woof woof For the longest I thought he was just smiling at me. I am still working on getting along with all the rest of the fur bodies out there . I’m a little jealous and not to kin on sharing my toys, food, treats my human friends and most of all my FM. I really don’t care for walking on that whole leash thing, “what am I a dog” Duhhh I gotta try to do better because my FM takes me everywhere. I even go to Walmart. I am really excited because I meet this really cute fine girly bully down the street that my FM is going to see if we can set up a playdate. I promise to be nice to that sweet pretty little thing. Well my paws are all tired out and out of ink, so I better go now. Don’t forget to check out my pics.. I must say I am a pretty good looking bully boy.

10/15/2017 Update:

ITS ME HAMMY,
First of all I need to apologize to all that saw me act like a bad bully at the Brewery bulldog event. I just get super excited and a little stressed around alot of other fur bodies. I want to learn how to play and get along with other fur bodies, I really do.  I don’t know why no one was sharing that stuff that looked like apple juice in a cup at the event, woof woof that might of chilled me out a little. My momma took me to the pet store the other day and I just love that place. Great treats everywhere and really nice humans talking about how cute I am. Then those ones coming in with those tiny yelping dogs, My momma and foster bubba is always saying how rough I am and that I need to be easy. We are talking about me going to school to learn some manners and obedience.. And that’s fine but I like being top dog and the boss. So anyone out there considering me as part of your family, I just have one small request……. A BIGGER brother or sister than me so if I get to rough playing I won’t hurt no fur babies feelings. woof woof woof🐕🐂
After seeing that great big fur body at the pet store,. I think I could learn to respect and get along with them. All they have to do is sit on me. Bow wow

9/28/2017 Update:  Hammy here…..

My foster momma says I am a handful, but she laughs when she telling me that,so I guess that’s not a bad thing.   My ears are feeling much better but my eyes are still giving me problems. Nd my foster momma puts drops in   them that makes them feel much better. My foster siblings getting really upset with me because I am so hyper   and a little rough, but I am just a big boy that likes to really play. I mean no harm. Still learning on how to share,  but honestly don’t like too. I just want to be the boss which doesn’t always work out in my favor. I have got   breakfast and dinner time down. My foster momma says OUT,and I know that means I need to wait patiently on   my carpet .No more standing under her feet for her to fall and drop my food. I LOVE TO EAT!!!  I still have to eat  separately from everyone because I snapped at my foster bother when he wouldn’t let me have the rest of his  dinner. But he’s so slow!!! I heard my foster momma telling my foster Grammy that she needs to cut my food back because I am getting a little chunky. WHAT??? OH NO!!! Maybe I will get more treats then.😁

8/20/2017 Update:  Hamilton is doing great. He really tries hard to please and listen to me He just gets so excited at times that he reminds me of a kid with ADD.  And me being a adult with ADHD ,I can completely relate. I’m not going to say we have aced the potty training yet but we are close.

He has realized how excited I get, jumping up and down praising him with joy when he does pee pee outside that  is a good thing. Hamilton always been a little rough when playing, but seems to be doing a lot better, as long as you remind him to be easy. My cat and him have this cute little bond, she loves using him as her rubbing post

Anytime a cat and a dog can form a bond like they do, it just makes my heart melt and let’s me know what a awesome dog they are. He knows sit, No, out, easy and learning more everyday. He just requires a little more patients and time. He has been a blast. He is fun and one of the most loving, sweet , cuddling  chunky monkey. Loves his frozen bananas, peanut butter, yogurt treats.
8/9/2017 Update:  Hamilton reminds me of a very ornery but cute toddler going thru their terrible twos.😁  He is such a curious George. Still working on his roughness and play biting. Which I feel is what got us in a bit of a predicament last week with another dog. Not sure that he realizes his own strength. So when he pounces on or play nips, it hurts. He does have a vicious growl when playing that could intimidate the heck out of someone or other dogs. I don’t think he means any harm thou. He is just a very high strung pup that hasn’t had much guidance or training. He indeed has the clumsiness bulldog syndrome. 😂 Been working on his potty training, which I have discovered that he will only do it when I am not home. And not because he can’t hold it or get out. He absolutely hates for me to leave. Thank God I don’t very often. Hamilton got to where he would pee on his cool pad which has me to believe that he had some pee pad training. His prescription for his skin has continued and I feel it is helping, we just have been battling a case of diarrhea. Could be his food because we haven’t quiet got that aced yet. He is a food gulper and requires something in his bowl to slow him down.

8/7/2017 Update:   After seeing Dr H a week ago Hamilton’s skin is doing much better. He has been doing really good with his foster sister and brother when it comes to snuggling ,but a little rough when it comes to playing. Not real good on sharing all 52 + toys in HIS toy box. Loves his baths and thinks he needs to help with everyone else’s. Still has to be separated to eat, as he wants doesn’t want to share his food either.

7/26/2017 Update:  Hamilton is a sweet, energetic little guy.  He loves to play and can sometimes be less than gentle when he gets excited. He and Bianca are being fostered together and when Hamilton gets to be too much, Bianca has no problem letting him know.  Hamilton loves his people, other dogs and children.

Hamilton loves to sun himself and needs to be reminded he can not be out for very long.
We are still working on his skin issues.  He had a follow-up visit last Friday with Dr. H and has some new medication to help get him fixed up.

6/19/2017 Update:

Hamilton is still all puppy, full of energy. Fun, loving, snuggle bug. Loves to be the center of attention, gives great kisses and hugs. Potty trained. Will go to back door and if your not paying attention he will bark . Does use the doggy door. My living room actually looks like a toy factory exploded. He loves his toys. Can play a little rough at times.  I had company over which have 3 kids between ages 5-9. Knowing how rough he could get, I was a little leary but surprisingly he was a perfect  gentleman giving them love and lots of kisses. Gets along well with my beagle and my cat. I do feed him separately just because he finishes before everyone and thinks that he needs to help the others finish. Hamilton seems to be recovery well from his neutering ,cherry eye ,

and nares surgery. HE LOVES apples, frozen yogurt and strawberries.

6/15/2017 Update:

Please welcome Hamilton to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family.  Hamilton is a 2.5 year old English Bulldog that weighs 42 lbs.

Over the past year, Hamilton’s family fell on hard times.  Both his Mom and Dad lost their jobs and Hamilton’s care became secondary.  When they realized Hamilton needed more than they were able to provide, they put him up for sale on CL.  And, in swooped our Bulldog loving friends who immediately went to work on securing Hamilton, raising the money to get him and then surrendered him to rescue.  Hamilton was still intact and they did not want him to be purchased for his breeding capability. They also wanted to ensure he received the medical care he needed.

From Hamilton’s photos, we knew he had skin allergies and cherry eye that needed to be addressed. He went directly to the clinic for a complete checkup.  Upon evaluation, Dr. H determined he had both staph and yeast infections on his skin and would need his nares done in addition to cherry eye surgery and neuter. All of his surgeries went well and he will be going to his foster home tomorrow to recover.

Hamilton is a VERY energetic, happy little guy.  He loves everyone he meets (sometimes a little too much, think Humpasaurus), gets along with other dogs and doesn’t seem to mind cats.   Hamilton is a very smart boy and is easily trainable. When corrected he is very eager to please his humans. Hamilton’s foster family will work to get his skin cleared up – medicated baths will be in his near future – and give him all the love and attention he needs until he finds his forever home.
