9/23/2017 Update: Hope was ADOPTED!!!!  It is with great pleasure we announce Hope has found her forever home.

When Hope arrived in Rescue, it was quickly apparent she is a very special little girl. It was also apparent Hope had not been very well taken care of.  Hope was listed on Craigslist for sale and it was learned she was being kept outside in the hot Texas summer heat.  To make matters worse, when Hope was dropped off to rescue, she was in a crate in the trunk of her previous owner’s car. The owner stated she was not allowed to have a dog in her car due to her job and it was not far (only 35 minutes).

Well…..all of those things of the past are just that. When Hope arrived we knew she needed a special home to call her own. A home that was quiet so she could relax and enjoy her new found freedom. A home that would spoil her and allow her to be the princess she was born to be.  Ideally we were looking for a family where someone was home all day so Hope could be showered with attention.  We at NBBR held out hope that this special home existed and they would apply to adopt our sweet girl. Those hopes turned into reality today. Hope’s new forever Mom checked all the boxes of the perfect forever home.

Hope joins her forever Mom as an only dog where she will be pampered with all the comforts of life she missed out on in her earlier days.  Princess Hope and her forever Mom are a match made in heaven and we are so glad they have found one another.  Congratulations to Hope and her Mom.

9/10/2017 Update:   This precious girl just continues to get sweeter by the day. She sleeps snuggled up in the bed all night long and has such good house manners. She loves her short walks and rides in the car like a champ.

She is still battling some allergies that make her ears red and her paws itchy but she takes her medicine and hopefully fall will offer some relief.

Here is Miss Hope modeling her new tutu. She enjoys her puppy clothes and looking pretty

9/3/2017 Update:   Miss Hope has been taking life easy the past few weeks. Her foster mommy hasn’t been feeling well so there have been plenty of naps and cuddle time.

Hope continues to be the perfect companion. She just rolls with the flow. She tolerates her bathes but loves the feeling of being fresh and clean. She likes short walks when it cools off in the evenings and will entertain herself with her toys or be happy to share them with you.

She has been almost perfect at her potty manners but likes to take her time doing her business outside. This baby is nothing but pure love. She wants it and gives it freely.

8/19/2017 Update:  Where to start with this sweet baby… Miss Hope is an absolute cuddle bug. She will sleep right next to you all night long. Touch is very important to her.

Hope loves to just lie around and chill most of the time. She does have momement where she will get energetic and have a case of the zoomies or spend some time chewing on her benebone. She has been known to chew on a doorstop or cardboard box if the opportunity arises but will quickly abort the behavior if told no and redirected to her toys.
Hope prefers not to be left alone for periods of time. She has opened a baby gate and extended her roaming area when left for longer than she felt comfortable. She is not destructive but rather a bit anxious looking for someone to come back and love on her.
This girl can eat! She has no problem with what is offered and will even sit and give you those sad puppy eyes wanting what you have on your plate. She does not jump on you nor has any aggressive behavior even when trying to get your attention. She is the perfect little lady.
Miss Hope is still working on repairing her skin and her ears are continuing to heal. She takes a medicated bath and has special oil to rub on her ears. She does fantastic on both. She will stand still in the bath as if she’s at the spa and almost falls asleep getting her ears massaged with oil.
Hope is the perfect princess. She is well behaved, potty trained, in good health and most of all CUTE!

8/4/2017 Update:  Miss Hope is an absolute dream. She is smart, adorable and calm. Housebreaking has been almost 100% successful and there have been no chewing issues or destructive behavior. She is a complete cuddle bug and will only lick/kiss if you have initiated close contact. She enjoys sleeping down by your feet and gently touching you for her own security. She has barked once at her foster sibling the pig.

She is a bit timid in the car and wants to be right next to you but who can blame her when her previous owner transported her in the trunk! She has had a little bit of a medical set back with her spay incision but that is being addressed and I’m sure she will be fully recovered soon. Once she is cleared, a good bath is in order. She continues to be treated for some allergies but nothing significant or difficult to handle.

She is a diamond in the rough and each day she shines a bit brighter. This girl is a true gem.

7/21/2017 Update:   Please welcome Hope to the No Borders Bulldog Recue family.  Hope is a 5 year old female French Bulldog that weighs approximately 20 lbs.

Hope joins the NBBR family like so many other Bulldogs. She was listed on Craigslist for sale. Hope was being sold because her owner could not afford to care for her.  Hope was living outside in the hot and humid Texas summer heat (no place for ANY dog, but especially a Bulldog). Hope was very fortunate that a guardian angel saw the post and KNEW Hope needed to be saved from that environment.  Hope’s angel immediately jumped into action and scheduled to get her.  Imagine the horror when the “owner” arrived, opened her trunk and pulled a crate out with Hope inside.  To make matters worse, the owner had previously stated that the meeting point was 35 minutes from her house.   Thankfully, Hope was safe and her guardian angel took her home to give her a much needed bath and shower her in love.

Today, Hope made the journey from her guardian angel’s house to the DFW area. You see, Hope’s angel already has 6 dogs and 5 small children, so she decided it was not in the cards to keep Hope (however there were MANY discussions about doing so).  Hope will be going to the clinic early this week to get a full checkup.  We are keeping our fingers crossed she is Heartworm negative (many of the dogs we get that have been living outside arrive Heartworm positive). In addition to her check-up, she will be spayed and then join her foster family.

Even after having a less than stellar life prior to meeting her guardian angel, Hope is a wonderful, loving little French girl. While at her temporary foster home she got along with EVERYONE. While there she was exposed to kids, adults and other dogs and everyone loved her.  Stay tuned as Hope settles into her foster home and we learn more about this special little girl.
