6/23/2019 Update:

Murphy was ADOPTED!!!! After a record amount of time with NBBR, Murphy has found his forever home.

Like many Bulldogs in No Borders Bulldog Rescue Murphy came to us by way of owner surrender. When Murphy’s dad could no longer take care of him, Murphy went to stay with his grandparents.  His grandparents quickly decided a Bulldog was too much for them and he found himself living outside while they looked for a new home for him.  Thankfully one of our followers saw his photo and knew outside, in the Texas heat, was no place for a Bulldog.  They went in to action and were able to secure Murphy’s freedom.    Murphy needed surgery for both of his eyes and had severe skin issues due to allergies (fly bites).  When Murphy joined his foster family he also exhibited some behavior issues that needed to be addressed.  All of the physical issues cleared up quickly, the behavioral issues took a little more time to work through.
Murphy was in the NBBR foster program for a LONG time.  This was because he needed a very specific home. It is the goal of the volunteers at NBBR to find the right home for each of the Bulldogs in our program. This search can be quick at times and due to specific needs, it can take longer.  There is no rush with us, we would rather the Bulldogs find the right place and it be a forever fit.
Murphy hit the jackpot in that he is an only child now.  While Murphy “could” live with other dogs, he has a little bit of an attitude at times and feels that he needs to be the center of attention ALWAYS and is not shy about pushing other pets out of his way.   Being an only child Murphy will get ALL the attention he desires and is the perfect arrangement for him. Murphy is a loving little guy that loves to be around his humans.  He now has a dedicated forever Mom and Dad to spoil him rotten.  Congratulations are in order for the entire family.

It’s Murphy here! Remember me ? I am back like I never left.
I am so happy the rain is gone so I can enjoy the 🌞.

If you can’t find me on my bed or

It feels good to be back and I’ll talk to you all again soon 💕🐶

2/27/2018 Update:  Murphy has had another quiet week. Murphy is changing weekly as he is getting, smarter, more confident, and curious. (As you
can see from the table leg) His new thing these past two weeks is laying next to his FB. Murphy’s FB does not enjoy cuddles so this has been a shocker. Murphy is looking forward to the spring weather!

2/20/2018 Update:  Murphy has had a pretty quiet week. Murphy wasn’t feeling well this week so he took a trip to see Dr. H, who gave him meds to help him feel better. Murphy is back to his sweet crazy self. Murphy is SPOILED ROTTEN as you can see by him peacefully sleeping on his fosters dad face. Who needs a pillow or a bed when you have your humans to lay on?

1/31/2018 Update

Murphy has had quiet a fun week. He got to visit his foster moms job and get lots of love, he went to the pet store to pick out a new toy, and he went to the big dog park. Murphy did very well at the dog park until he got tired and cranky, then it was time to go. Murphy was able to keep up with the other big dogs and play(for over an hour)He did get annoyed with a sweet girl puppy after he was tired and started to snap. Murphy did give warning signs but the puppy still wanted to play. Murphy has been doing well with very few accidents this week. Murphy is the stink eye king and is as funny as can be. Murphy also is VERY sensitive when it comes to his humans. He appreciates when you talk to him and praise him in a sweet voice and he knows by the tone if something isn’t right and will pout and hold his head down. Murphy is THE BOMB.COM!

Murphy will be getting a cake from Three Dogs Bakery this Valentine’s Day to support NBBR, he hopes that everyone with a fur friend gets one as well!

Stay tuned for pics of Murphy with his cake! Yum! Yum!

1/24/2018 Update:

Murphy hasn’t had his best week this week. Murphy is a sweet, loveable, amazing dog but he is very young. Murphy is definitively in his teenager stage and has been doing a few naughty things. Murphy was not a chewer but as he has aged a bit he has secretly started chewing on table legs. Murphy is also having some trouble listening and obeying commands he knows. Murphy is growing older so I am sure it is just a phase that will pass but it will take patience. Murphy is still the best pup on the block but has a lot of maturing to do!

1/17/2018 Update:  Murphy is doing great and has had a fairly quiet week. Murphy has a set daily routine that we try to stick with.  Murphy has a lot of energy and is a sweet boy. Murphy is potty trained but does have accidents in the house. He doesn’t like his crate but is okay going in it for short period of times. Murphy does sleep throughout the night. Murphy loves to snuggle and nap. Murphy has been secretly enjoying the legs of the kitchen table so we make sure we keep him insight at all times. We feed Murphy using a slow feeder bowel twice a day. If he does not use a slow feeder he will eat too fast and have an upset stomach. Murphy does well with his foster brother who is very low energy.   Overall, Murphy is a high energy, loving, and spoiled Bulldog.

12/24/2017 Update:  Murphy had a fairly quiet Christmas. He spent his weekend catching up on snuggles and playing with his new toys. Murphy’s favorite place

12/10/2017 Update:  Murphy continues to be awesome. He hasn’t had an accident in the house in over a week. Murphy loves to play fetch, tug a war, eat treats, and nap with his foster parents. Murphy believes humans are his pillows and loves to lay on you and sleep. He is growing to be a big boy but still thinks he is a 5lb dog. Murphy has made the nice list and is ready for all his Christmas treats!

11/12/2017 Update:

This week my FM will give you all and update on me while I nap!

Murphy is the best puppy on the planet! He is filled with love and snuggles. Murphy is very energetic and smart guy. He enjoys being with his humans as much as possible.

Murphy does well with using the restroom outside but does have accidents inside the house. Murphy loves bathtub mats more than he probably should and will chew it up if you leave the restroom door open.

Murphy is a man of no words but many facial expressions. He has no issues with giving you stink eye if you do something he doesn’t approve of.

Murphy is doing well with training and is learning a lot. He catches on very fast and will do anything for a treat.

Overall,  Murphy is a dream and the best snuggle pup!

11/5/2017 Update:

Hi Guys,

It’s me sweet boy Murphy. I had such a great time at the event this weekend. I got to meet a lot of sweet people and got a lot of rubs. I even did well around the other dogs. While I was there I got to see handsome Nikkos, beautiful Harper, and gorgeous Delilah. They are also looking for their forever homes and if I must say they are all a dream.

I am currently resting on top of my crate. My FM put me in so she could clean but I decided I much rather lay on top of it. Should my name be Mischievous Murphy?

Overall, I am a happy and healthy puppy. I am very smart and I have a heart of gold. I have a lot of energy but I also love to lay and cuddle, can you say best of both worlds!

Well that is it for this week. I hope you all stay and follow me on my journey to finding my forever family!

Talk to you soon,

Muphy🐾

10/28/2017 Update:

Hi Guys,

It’s Murphy here again. Whew, this week has flown by! Are you guys enjoying this cold weather ?

This week has been pretty fun for me. I had my second week of training and my foster parents said I did great! They are so proud of me. This week we learned how to properly walk on a leash and ways to break my jumping. I am a very smart boy and learned quickly if I walk on my leash correctly I will get treats. I love my treats and my food (ALOT) and would prefer not to have any other dog around me while I am enjoying them. My foster parents have me eating out of a slow feeder bowl so I don’t gobble everything in one bite.

I gave my foster parents a huge scare when I got the zoomies. I was racing at the speed of light around the place and bouncing off the walls. They thought I had gone mad. The next day I went to the dog park and got in a lot of play time with my foster dad and brother.

I have begun being a little mischievous by breaking out of my crate and getting caught on the kitchen table 😳. My back teeth have been bothering me so my foster parents got me chew toys to help. I love chewing on my Nyla Bones.

Last but certainly not lease I would like to thank the sweet person who made me my own personal prayer blanket. I am very grateful.

Well that is it for now, until next time peeps!

Happy Halloween 🎃 👻🐾

10/23/2017 Update:

Hi Guys,

It’s Murphy here, I am enjoying life as usual. This week has been pretty relaxing. Tuesday, I started puppy training, my foster parents say I have 5 more lessons. I was a little stressed at first but I loved training because I got a lot of treats. I am doing good with using the potty outside, unless the bathroom door is open, then I’ll go on the rug. I have a lot of energy and no manners, so sometimes I jump all over my foster parents. I love to snuggle especially with my foster dad. I enjoy when he lets me nap while he gives me stomach rubs. I am in my chewing phase, luckily I have a lot of chew toys to keep me busy. Well that’s all for this week guys!

Talk to you soon🐾💙

10/15/2017 Update:

Hi guys it’s Murphy here, I am finally old enough to talk for myself but I’ll have my foster mom do the typing. I am a sweet puppy,

if I do say so my self.

This week has been pretty relaxing for me. At the beginning of the week my foster brother and I went to see Dr.H because we could not stop coughing and sneezing. Dr. H gave me and my foster brother medicine to make us all better.
I have barely had any accidents in the house this week. My foster parents show me their appreciation by giving me a treat every time I go potty outside like a big boy.
My foster dad is the love of my life. I love to follow him everywhere, we are bff’s. I love when he holds me while I nap and I love snuggling next to him when I sleep. My foster brother does not like to snuggle so each night my foster parents decide who gets to snuggle with me for the night.
I am truly a mans best friend, just ask my foster dad. I am looking for a forever family filled with love and energy.

10/10/2017 Update:

Murphy is resting this morning waiting to watch some football. Murphy had quite an interesting week. He took a visit to Dr.H for his right eye that had serve swelling after his cherry eye removal surgery. Murphy got new eye drops and antibiotics to help with the swelling.

Murphy went to the Drive-in where he watched Kingsman, ate snacks and napped.

At the NBBR event this weekend Murphy wanted nothing to with other dog and snapped at any dog he got too close with. This was a shock to his foster parents because Murphy and his foster brother get along well other than quarrels over chew treats.

Since a lot of Murphy’s backstory is unknown we aren’t certain if it was the environment or if Murphy just doesn’t do well with other dogs in general. Murphy will be working on his social interactions with other dogs. Murphy is still a puppy and has a lot of growing and learning to do. Murphy is very sweet, loving and affectionate and needs a forever family that will be patient with him as he goes through his puppy phase.

10/1/2017 Update: Murphy had quite a busy week. The first night at his foster home was a bit rough, he threw up 3 times. A couple of days later he had cherry eye removal surgery and was neutered. Murphy still has a lot of swelling in his right eye but other than that he is doing great. Murphy ears are healing up nicely. Murphy is a very high energy baby, oops I mean puppy. He is not potty trained but is learning big boys need to potty outside(and not nap when outside to potty). Murphy has no manners yet and does not believe in personal  space. Murphy and his foster brother yet along well until Murphy tries to hump him. Murphy does not like to be in a crate and will voice his dissatisfaction if he knows you are in the room. Murphy’s surgeries have no slowed him down one bit. Murphy doesn’t sit still and could play for days on end. Murphy has been hearing his foster Mom nag him about jumping off of back of the couch. Murphy is a sweet guy that steals the heart of anyone he meets. Murphy is looking for a family with a lot of patience and determination. Murphy wants to be a big boy but just needs help getting there

9/23/2017 Update:   Please welcome Murphy to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family.  Murphy is an 8 month old English Bulldog that weighs 40 lbs.

When Murphy’s dad could no longer take care of him, Murphy went to stay with his grandparents.  His grandparents quickly decided a Bulldog was too much for them and he found himself living outside while they looked for a new home for him.  Thankfully one of our followers saw his photo and knew outside in the Texas heat was no place for a Bulldog.  They went in to action and were able to secure Murphy’s freedom.

Murphy went directly to the clinic for a once over with Dr. Holbrook.  Immediately noticeable is that he has cherry eye in both eyes.  Murphy also has scabs from numerous fly bites on both ears from living outside. Thankfully Murphy is heartworm negative and will be able to have his cherry eye and neuter surgeries early next week.

Murphy is a lovable, friendly little guy.  He showered our volunteers with kisses as though thanking them for saving him from living outside.  Once he has his surgeries he will be heading to his foster home.  Stay tuned as we learn more about Murphy.
