3/11/2017 Update:  Shelby was ADOPTED!!!!!  It is with great pleasure we announce Shelby has found her very own forever home.

It wasn’t exactly the smoothest of roads to her new forever Mom.  Shelby’s new Mom saw her on the website and feel in love instantly. She was crushed to learn she was not the first person to express interest in Shelby and probably would not be able to adopt her. This news, however, did not deter her in the least.  Shelby’s new mom wanted nothing but the best for her and was willing to give up her dreams of adopting Shelby if it meant that Shelby was with the family best for her.  However, the family had second thoughts and decided not to meet Shelby.

As soon as Shelby’s new forever Mom was told that plans had changed, she immediately wanted to make it official. The next step was to schedule a Meet and Greet to make sure that Shelby’s new foster siblings (fur) would accept her as a new family member. To say it was love at first sight is an understatement, all three pups immediately got along. With that small step out of the way, it was official, Shelby had found her new forever home.

Shelby now has two fur siblings to play with and a devoted forever family to spoil her. Congratulations to Shelby and her entire family.

12/9/2016 Update:  Please welcome Shelby to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family. Shelby is a 4 year old female English Bulldog that weighs 60 lbs.

Shelby joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender with her brother Sebastian.  She was purchased from a breeder at the age of 8 weeks and had been with the family ever since.  We are not sure when things took a turn for the worse, but one of Shelby’s human sisters contacted NBBR and asked if we could help re-home them since they were being neglected.  Shelby was spending most of her waking hours outside. When she was allowed to come inside, she was immediately put in a crate with her brother.  Because of this treatment, Shelby is craving human interaction, attention and love.

Shelby visited the vet yesterday to get a check up and determine what medical treatments would be necessary. This was a new experience for Shelby as she had never been to the vet since she was purchased from the breeder. The first thing noted was a case of cherry eye that had never been treated. The tear gland was not only HUGE  but was infected to the point that it had to be removed or risk Shelby losing her sight in that eye and possibly the eye itself. In addition to the cherry eye, Shelby has some patches of skin infections which will require medicated baths and a round of antibiotics to cure.  While at the vet, she was tested for Heartworm and the results were NEGATIVE. Shelby was microchipped and given all her necessary vaccines.

Shelby is currently resting comfortably at her new foster home. To say that Shelby hit the jackpot is an understatement. She went from being an “outdoor” dog to the lap of luxury. When Shelby arrived at her foster home, she lost no time in exploring the entire house. She quickly went from room to room to see every little detail. Shelby spent the rest of the evening testing out which piece of furniture would make the most comfortable bed.  Even though Shelby has not had the positive human interaction that she should have, she completely adores humans of all shapes and sizes.  If you even act like you are going to pet Shelby, she wastes no time in flopping on her back so you can begin the belly rubs.  She is a complete sweetheart looking for a family with TONS of extra love they are willing to shower on her. Does that sound like you or your family? If so, please complete an adoption application. Shelby would like nothing more than a new forever family for the holidays.
