10/14/2017 Update:

10/1/2017 Update:  Sweet Pea had a great week.  She loves to check out the groceries…every bag every time!

Sweet Pea is very sweet girl…with a bit of a mischievous side.  She has become quite the Benebone thief…she loves to take her fur sisters Benebone away from her…even tho she has her own and there are more Benebones than dogs in her foster home. She has been spotted more than once sitting on multiple Benebones while chewing on one herself…she does not want to share the beloved Benebones!  But…Fur sister gets her revenge when Sweet Pea is asleep….nice foot in the face 🙂
She’s been enjoying her limited sunbathing time this week…still too hot for this bully girl to stay outside as long as she would like to.
Sweet Pea has stayed consistent with her playtime between 8:30 and 9:30 every night. She plays so hard…so funny to see this sweet quite girl turn into a crazy puppy for a short time every night.
Sweet Pea is an absolute joy…such a sweet girl…with a little sneaky mischievous side.

9/25/2017 Update:

Sweet Pea had a great time at Saturday’s Hollywood Feed event.  She met lots of new friends and was not as timid as the last event.  Towards the end of the event Sweet Pea got a bit grumpy with the younger pups…they were only trying to play with her…but it was long past this ole girls naptime!  She was tuckered out and crashed as soon as we got in the car, and even nightly playtime was shorter than normal.
Sweet Pea has been a sneaky girl this week hiding benebones from the resident dogs. There are plenty to go around but she wants them all…Benebones are her favorite after all. The Kong crinkly branch is a new favorite toy to play fetch with and to chew on too.
Sweet Pea is a very sweet and happy little girl. She has to be reminded that she is a bully and bullies can’t sunbathe as much as she wants to. She loves belly rubs of course, but has been shy about rolling over for them…She finally rolled over willingly for belly rubs this week!

9/18/2017 Update:   Sweet Ms. Sweet Pea…what a little love bug…and that a sweet squishy face. She is so laid back and calm. She loves loves loves to sunbathe, she would stay out all day if we let her.  She willingly comes in when we tell her to.  She has good house manners. Sweet Pea usually just sticks to her favorite benebone or antler to chew on, but will occasionally take off with a box or a shoe if she spots one left out. We are working on her not getting so close when her people have food.  She will slowly but surely try to work her way onto a lap when there is food involved…but it’s hard to tell that sweet face no 🙂

9/10/2017 Update:   Sweet Pea truly lives up to her name. Such a sweet little girl. She will gently nudge your leg if she wants some attention. She is right at my feet whenever I sit down…unless she is sunbathing. With the cooler weather this week she has been able to sunbathe more…this girl loves the sun!

She is very inquisitive.  She likes to check out bags and boxes we bring in. She is making sure nothing left in the Braums bag in one pictures.  Sweet Pea really loves boxes too!.  She only wants the boxes you don’t give to her though…must take the fun out of it if we give it to her.
She continues to love her nightly play time. She can still get a little rough, but is getting better all time. She is easily distracted with a toy when she gets too rough.
Sweet Pea is just the perfect little lady. The only thing we are still working on with her is when we sit on sofa with food…she will inch closer and closer then give that sad look as she is trying to get on your lap

9/3/2017 Update:  Sweet Pea has a sweet temperament and is very laid back, She is very patient at breakfast and dinner, and will sit right away when the treats come out.  She is very gentle when taking treats as well. She loves, loves, loves her Benebone and other chew toys, but Benebone is always the favorite.

She is good around with dogs but prefers to play with people. She has been playing with one of her foster sisters more this week.  Sweet Pea has gotten much better with not playing so rough as well.  She gets so excited at playtime she just can’t contain herself. Fetch is her favorite game and she usually willingly give the toy back. This girl can jump too!  When playing fetch she gets so excited she will jump on the couch from a few feet away.  I did not know a bully could jump so far!
Such a happy young lady…

8/13/2017 Update:   Ms. Sweet Pea has mastered a few talents since coming to her foster home.

She is great at getting comfortable anywhere and awesome at taking naps with some great bulldog snores. She’s known to give some cute little winks too.
She has mastered the art of begging as learned from her fur sisters. She especially  loves cheese and peanut butter and can hear any cheese wrapper opening from anywhere!
This is one very sweet girl that is good at stealing hearts too!

8/7/2017 Update:  Sweet Pea is such a sweet little girl.

She loves to nudge and give a quick sugar…every chance she gets!
Sometimes she still gets a little rough during playtime but can easily be distracted by fetching a toy. She goes from calm to very excited back to calm in 5 minutes!
She gets along well with other dogs but would also be a great only dog.

7/31/2017 Update:   Sweet Pea had another great week. The sad looking face is deceiving…she is a very happy and sweet girl.

She continues to be very laid back and lazy all day, usually napping…but will wake up to enjoy her chew toys before the next nap.  She loves her chew toys, especially the Benebone. And of course will take every available opportunity to snuggle and get belly rubs.
Ms. Sweet Pea is also a very clever young lady.  Look who figured out to use the Benebone to hold another toy…and keep 2 toys to herself!
She still gets a crazy 5 minute burst of energy every evening, and is much better about fetching toys and running around the house to burn the energy rather than chewing on her human. You can truly see in her eyes when it starts!
This girl loves to sunbathe on the patio.  She would love to keep soaking up the sun all day but will come in when asked.
Sweet Pea is really one great little girl!

7/24/2017 Update: Sweet Pea is such a happy girl.  She has wonderful manners, will wait patiently for treats or food, and is very gentle when receiving her treats. She knows how to sit and can give high 5.

Finally got a good video of her nightly burst of energy…she is very calm until this burst then will run into or over anything in her path! We are working on her playing a bit too rough during her energy burst. She tends to nip at who is playing with her…playfully of course, but she can get a little too rough. She has responded very well to fetching a toy or tug-o-war (rather than chewing on her human) to channel her energy.
She continues to like toys more and more, but loves loves loves her benebone and antler chews.

7/17/2017 Update:  Ms. Sweet Pea had a very busy week.  Her spay surgery was Wednesday so she enjoyed a few quiet days to rest, relax, and recover.  She was sad to miss the weekend Hollywood Feed event, but got a special trip to Petsmart over the weekend. All the new sights and sounds and activity at Petsmart were alot to take in, and she was on high alert when lots of barking or commotion, but overall enjoyed meeting new people and dogs during her visit. This young lady enjoys car rides and has great manners while traveling, she stayed in her seat and enjoyed watching out the window and a nice little nap in the car.

She has always enjoyed her Benebone and other chews and is now starting to show interest in toys. She plays fetch great and will bring her toy to you and give up toy willingly to be thrown again.  She loves playtime but can play a little rough…we are working on that. Ms. Sweet Pea continues to be a joy to host and is such a sweet girl.

7/10/2017 Update:  Sweet Pea lives up to her name, what a sweet girl.

She loves to cuddle and is very calm and laid back. That is until her burst of energy at night…she has the zoomies for about 5 minutes and runs and jumps like a puppy around the house. We can expect this sudden energy burst  about 8:30 pm…then she’s done.  She plays great with her foster fur sister too.
It’s not easy to get good pictures of this girl.  She knows we are trying to get pictures and moves every time.
She loves to go on walks and is great on a leash. She appears to be crate trained, but she prefers the dog bed in bedroom at night. She quickly figured out the doggie door and will go out when she needs to.  Not kid tested yet but seems to love everyone. She isn’t interested in our cat at all, or any toys so far. But she loves her Benebone and the original Kong toy.
She is just an all around great girl!

7/4/2017 Update:  Please welcome Sweet Pea to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family.  Sweet Pea is a 5 year old female English Bulldog that weighs 50 lbs.

Sweet Pea found herself looking for a new home when her current family had to move into a two bedroom apartment after renting their four bedroom home while “waiting for their new home to be ready”.   She was being advertised as a proven breeder as she had already had two litters with 10 puppies each.  A Good Samaritan saw her listing and was determined to end Sweet Pea’s breeding days.  So, once again, fellow Bulldog lovers raised funds, secured her freedom and surrendered Sweet Pea to rescue.

Sweet Pea appears to be in good health, although she is not up to date on vaccinations or heart worm preventative.  She will be visiting the clinic soon for a complete checkup and to be spayed.

She is currently in her foster home and we look forward to learning more about Sweet Pea and finding her the perfect forever family.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the adoption application on our website.
