6/5/2017 Update:   Tank was ADOPTED!!!! Congratulations are mort definitely in order for Tank as he has found the perfect forever family.

Tank joined NBBR in February after many months of neglect. He was a furless and stinky mess. This condition was due to a severe untreated case of mange. Flash forward several months and Tank had transformed into a ruggedly handsome Bulldog with a great personality.  It was this bigger than life personality that was what his new forever Mom was looking.  While Tank had several Meet and Greets, none were the perfect fit until his forever Mom laid eyes on him.  Where other families saw his energy as a negative, that energy was exactly what she was looking.  She loves his goofy puppy energy and his love to play.

It is with great pleasure that we say congratulations to both Tank and his forever Mom as they start their journey together.  We are sure that there is nothing but good times and happy memories in the future for both of them.

4/21/2017 Update:  Tank has fully recovered from the mange. He is looking sharp and feeling great. He had a great time with his foster friends last weekend at the Paws on the Square event. He got lots of love and completly ate it up. This weekend Tank went to the dog park and had lots of fun with new friends. He is great around other dogs and is happy to be just one of the pack. He also got to chase bubbles in the back yard with my son on Easter Sunday. He is very calm around children and just wants to play along. If you are looking for an addition to your family, Tank would be so happy to be a loving part of it.

3/20/2017 Update:  Tank has had a great week. The mange (and thank God the smell) is all gone and his hair is almost completely regrown. He has a beautiful brindle coloring that we haven’t been able to see until now. We are still working on getting a few sores on his head to heal, but they are getting better everyday. With his coat coming back, so has his energy. He likes to go on short walks and is great on the leash. He will walk right beside you. Tank is a really happy go lucky guy who likes to play when you are ready, but is just as happy to snuggle on the couch.

3/12/2017 Update:  Tank made some major strides this past week. After his follow up visit to the vet and some additional meds, he has improved drastically.

His mange is under control and the hair loss has stopped. His skin looks 100% better than he did a week ago. He is still wearing the cone to help his head heal further. I think after 3 or 4 more days we can probably get rid it. He will be so happy! He is gaining energy everyday and is really coming out of his shell. He loves to play ball in the yard and chase my 4 year old. Tank is very good with him and hasn’t been the least bit rough. He is going to make someone a great companion.

2/27/2017 Update:  Tank has settled in very nicely in his first week. He has been a quick study on the “lay of the land”. He knows his spaces and where he is not supposed to go (furniture). He is completely house broken and goes and sits by the back door when he needs to go out. He is extremely easy going and doesn’t mind a four year running around with his hair on fire most of the time. He patiently waits for anyone to give him some love and accepts it gratefully. Tank likes to lay in a sunny spot inside and out and nap the day away. He would make a great companion for any type of situation. He just goes with the flow.

He is recovering well from his neutering last Friday. He is a tough guy who doesn’t complain. We are waiting on the skin culture results to help determine the best course of action to treat his mange and hair loss. He is however gaining weight (56 pounds) and eating like a champ. He loves treats and doesn’t mind taking his medicine. He also doesn’t mind getting his nails trimmed and ground. He sat patiently while I worked on each one.

2/20/2017 Update:  Please welcome Tank to the NBBR family. Tank is a 3 year old English Bulldog that weighs approximately 50 lbs.

Tank joined the NBBR family yesterday as an owner surrender.  Tank has had a rough couple of months. He was in a very bad situation where he was not being taken care of properly.  Luckily for Tank, he had a guardian angel that was able to rescue him from this situation.  Tank’s guardian angel originally thought she would be able to keep Tank and give him the loving forever home that he needed. Unfortunately, due to his medical conditions it wasn’t the right fit for them and his guardian angel called NBBR to see if we could help Tank find his forever family.

Tank appears to have severe allergies (both environmental and food allergies) that have caused hair loss and a secondary skin infection due to him scratching.  We have started Tank on a limited ingredient food and supplements that will help his allergies.  Tank has an appointment with the clinic for a check-up to determine what treatments are necessary and to get neutered this week.

Tank is a complete lover boy. He has the sweetest personality and just wants to play. According to his surrendering family, he is good with kids, other dogs and even the “C” word-CATS.  Tank joined his foster home last night and is doing will assimilating to his new environment. He immediately began investigating his surroundings to make sure he didn’t miss anything. Once his allergies and any other medical conditions are treated Tank will begin his search for his forever family. Stay tuned for updates on Tanks as we learn more about this boy.
