11/7/2020 Update:

Tater was ADOPTED!!!!   Welcome to the good life Mr. Tot, you deserve it.

Tater joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender.  His previous owner had some major changes in life and recently moved into a much smaller place.  In addition to the move, there was an upcoming surgery that would have made it impossible to give Tater the care that he deserved. After much deliberation, the decision was made that it would be best for all involved.  So, a phone call was made to NBBR to see if we would be able to assist and the rest is as they say…..history.  A meeting was scheduled to meet Tater and to transfer him into NBBR’s care.   From there, Tater made a quick trip to the clinic.  While most surrendered Bulldogs come into Rescue with very little, this was not the case for Mr. T.  He arrived with a crate, blankets, food (and container), supplements and some toys.  He was up to date on his vaccines, heartworm and flea tick medication as well.   His time at the vet was for a quick wellness exam and to run a fecal test.   The great news was that Tater was the picture of health.  While it was mentioned that Tater prefers men, we don’t think Tater got the memo:  He LOVES everyone.

Tater hit the jackpot with his new forever home. Dad (check), Mom (check), ability to train them both quickly (check), big backyard (check), being the center of attention (check). What more could this guy want?  Nothing.   While Tater is all Bulldog with all the ” unique” charms that all Bulldogs have, his new forever parents have had Bulldogs previously and know exactly how to handle those charms.  After losing their previous Bulldog and missing the beloved sounds only a Bulldog can bring to a  household, they decided it was time to look for a new family member.  Tater’s Dad actually attended a fundraising event and spent some time with Tater and to no one surprise, he was smitten.   So, while his parents went through the approval gauntlet, Tater patiently waited.   Once the approval process was completed, Tater and two other dogs had the opportunity to participate in a Meet and Greet.    And you can guess it, Tater brought his A game.  He was charming, he was loving, he was stubborn, he was everything that Mom and Dad wanted/needed.   Congratulations are definitely in order for all involved.   Thank you for giving Tater the second chance/happily ever after that he so deserved.

9/24/2020 Update:

Chairs, rings and roosters, oh my! Chair King Tater has found yet another new seat to rest his bully body. This one is in his human brother’s room upstairs and has a lovely view of a golf course.
Tater Tot toys include a big ‘ole rooster and some big ‘ole rings that he likes to play tug of war with. Bully tug of war is not for the meek! It can seem scary to the uninitiated.
Tater spent most of his life as the main attraction with one human. We have 4 humans (including 2 teenage boys)  and a high-energy little Morkie — and are learning this energy is sometimes too much for Tater. We truly think he would be happiest in a home with 1 or 2 humans and where he is once again an only child.

9/13/2020 Update:

The Chair King. Tater has battled hard for the crown and is ready for his reward. He’s also found a new chair that really suits his aesthetic. Say hello to the Leopard Bully King now.
This goofy and friendly bully has been such a wonderful and calming influence in our house. Tater met many new friends at his first NBRR event this past weekend. The Tot has never seen so many creatures who look just like him as he’s been an only dog for entire life until now. Tater did great meeting all the humans and ran around with his new furry cousins. It was doggone hot – and after an hour or so – he got a bit feisty when his Foster Mom tried to give him ice and then share with his new pals.
This has all been a huge change for a bulldog who lived with one human and no pets for almost 4 years. We are very proud of him!

9/1/2020 Update:

The Battle of the Chair…who will win? Tater Tot? Chuy? Stay tuned as it is sure to be a battle of beauty and the (beautiful bully) beast!  Tater and his foster brother BOTH want the same chair and have no issues “bumping” each other to claim their coveted prize.

8/18/2020 Update:

Tater…or Tarzan? This king of the jungle loves a good laze in the monkey grass. He is a beautiful beast to behold!

8/6/2020 Update:

Tater and his foster dog bro are figuring things out. Mr. Tot and Mr. Chuy have taken some doggone long naps in spitting distance of each other in the past few weeks, a big step. Tater is also letting his foster parents pick up his furry brother and pet Chuy without getting too jealous.
Tater Tot has spent his life so far as a solo bully with a solo human and is now in a home with four humans and a very dominant little Morkie. He’s taking all the commotion in stride. This big ‘ole boy is ready for some big time love from his furever family, possibly with fewer humans and animals!

7/24/2020 Update:

Tater is spending his summer days taking lots of long siestas. He loves to be cozy and will keep you company under your chair, behind you on the couch and in the backseat for a spin around the neighborhood. Tater’s a big boy who likes to snuggle in small spaces. His personality is coming out more every day. Tater likes his big jowls to be massaged and doesn’t mind having his face wrinkles cleaned with a wipe. His bully ways come out sometimes with his little dog brother. Growing up an only bully, he is learning how to let his canine companion receive attention and not bully him over toys. Tater is an extremely loveable, huggable and fun bully.

7/14/2020 Update:

Hot summer days don’t deter this bully. Tater is ready to party! This not-so-old dude likes to ride in the car and take his human brothers to school for summer workouts. Daytime is naptime but Tater is fast on his feet the second he hears food being prepared. He likes a good game of tug of war in the evening with his squeaky toys and has been doing some nighttime backyard hunting with his dog bro. Tater and Chuy caught a possum the other night – oh no!
Tater is a big teddy bear and ready to make a big impact with a furever family.

7/7/2020 Update:

Tater is still recovering from a festive 4th of July weekend. He made new human friends who are in awe of his majestic face and bulldog ways. He also got a bath and seemed to enjoy the warm water on his big body – although not so excited about getting his face cleaned. His FF also uses gentle wipes to get between the big ‘ole folds on his gorgeous face.

Tater is learning how to let his tiny dog bro receive human attention (without body slamming him) as he is used to being the main man in the house. He loves a good tug of war with his rooster and verrryy squeaky frog toy… but his dog bro does not understand this kind of play and gets nervous as bulldog play is very rough and tumble.

Tater is a big sweetheart and the absolute BEST to snuggle with on the couch. He also enjoys a good laze in the sun. Tater has been through a big transition and has quickly become a very special part of his FF. He is looking for his furever family and would be a gentle giant part of it.

7/1/2020 Update:

Tater is getting ready for a fun 4th of July with his new foster family! It’s been about two weeks since he has met his FF and he has quickly become a treasured part of the family. Tater’s beautiful brown eyes will stare into your soul!

He starts his day with a big snooze on the sofa, goes outside easily to do his business with his dog bro, enjoys a slow stroll through the ‘hood and plays with his stuffed rooster at night. Tater sleeps in his crate with his special blankets and often goes there during the day for a cozy snooze. We don’t think he knows how big and beautiful he is – he will sit on your lap and take up most of it!

Tater does get the friskies at night with all the men in his FF so has to be redirected. We will take him outside to chase the tennis ball or give him a big ‘ole bone to chew on. He’s also used to being an only child so bodies his little big dog brother out of the way when anyone attempts to pet anyone but him. Tater is all bully!

6/23/2020 Update:

This big and beautiful bully made an easy transition into fosterhood. He is a BIG little brother to his foster dog brother (a 10-pound Morkie named Chuy). Tater has never met a couch he didn’t want to sleep in and can snore with his eyes open. He is a big chunk to cuddle with but tends to body slam his little big brother if you try to pet both pups at the same time. Tater is a force to be reckoned with! We are learning more about this gentle giant every day.

6/20/2020 Update:

Please welcome Tater Tot to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.  Tater Tot is a 3.5 year old male English Bulldog that weighs 55 lbs.

First of all, let’s get the name correct. It’s Tater or Mr. Tot if you’re nasty. In all seriousness, while his official name may be Tater Tot, he is a very chill kinda guy and prefers the much less pretentious Tater.

Tater joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender.  His previous owner had some major changes in life and recently moved into a much smaller place.  In addition to the move, there was an upcoming surgery that would make it impossible to give Tater the care that he deserved. T.  Tater arrived with a crate, blankets, food (and container), supplements and some toys.  He was up to date on his vaccines, heartworm and flea tick medication as well.   His time at the vet was for a quick wellness exam and to run a fecal test.   The great news is that Tater is the picture of health.

Where do we begin with Tater…… When our volunteer met his previous owner it was mentioned that Tater prefers men.  Well, we don’t think that Tater got that memo. While he does like men, he appears to like women equally as well. He gave love and kisses to EVERY lady he met at the clinic.  He appears to be a lover of everyone and everything humans and animals alike.  Tater quickly became a staff favorite at the clinic.  Tater is 150% Bulldog, he is goofy, stubborn, silly and all the other things that Bulldogs are known.  Tater does well on a leash, enjoys car rides and is an all around good little guy.   He joined his foster family today, so he will begin training them on exactly he likes things done- his way.   Stay tuned as we learn more about Tater in the coming weeks.  His foster family will be providing updates and their assessments on what Tater’s forever family looks like.
