10/22/2018 Update:  Hi!  I am Wynona if you haven’t met me before.  I had a great week this week!  I got to stay in a real house all week and that is SO nice!  I really love having my people all to myself.  Other male dogs can be ok, but I am a jealous girl and just like having the humans to myself.  I know what kind of dog I am. I own it.

I can’t wait to tell you about Saturday!  I got to go for a car ride which is always great.  We went to this cool place where there were lots of people!  There were some other dogs there too, but pretty sure I was the prettiest.  Not that I am conceited, but everyone kept telling me how pretty I was and it did kind of go to my head.  I really liked having so many people to meet. I made sure I was a really good girl to maximize the attention. I do know how to work a crowd!  Of course then there were some small people and I really like them a lot.  I lay down so I am on their level.  I want to make sure they know I am a gentle good dog and they don’t have to be afraid of me.  I sure wish I had a small person all the time to be with.
One of the best things about being at a house all week was getting more outside time. I love walks and just being outside to enjoy nature.
Sunday I got to supervise the lady as she dug in the dirt and put out some more things with green leaves.  I love green leaves so much that some of them I even have to eat.  There was also this pile of wood and there was SOMETHING in there!  I kept sniffing and growling certain I could get it out somehow, but I never did.  Bummer. The sun felt so good that part of the time I just laid there and soaked it up.  I also got to explore around some but most of the time I wanted to make sure I wasn’t too far from my lady friend. If I wander off some she calls for me and I make sure I run back full speed so she knows where I am.  It doesn’t hurt that I always get kisses and rubs when I come back.  Yep.  I love me some lovin’!
I guess I should update you on my eyes.  I have had a couple of surgeries to remove some extra skin around my eyes.    Now I get drops twice a day in my eyes.  Not my favorite thing but it doesn’t hurt and they sure make my eyes feel better.  I usually get a treat after the drops so that kind of makes it worth it. 😉
Did I tell you about all the rain?   Not sure about you , but I really don’t like rain. One day my lady friend put this rain coat thing on me and took me out fir a walk.   I just couldn’t do it. After I stopped walking a few times and kept looking back she finally got the message.  What was she thinking?  Walk in the rain?  I don’t care that it was just sprinkles.  Seriously.  It messes my hair up.
Monday I got to go back to see all my friends at the vets office.  They were so glad to see me but sad for me that I don’t have my own family yet.   At the very least it would be nice if I just had a family to stay with until I get my forever family.  I have so much love to give and I am so well behaved.  Hopefully one day soon it will pay off for me!

9/25/2018 Update:  Wynona had about an hour break today from her kennel. It’s hot again today so she got to visit her favorite bakery where she gets lots of loving and treats.
She was so excited to get out and about.
She had a great time getting to pick out her own treat and getting lots of love from the customers.  She was a ham. She would stick out her back leg like she was posing 😂 Everyone was cracking up.
As usual everyone loved her.   She is going to make someone so happy. She is perfect in every way except she does not like other dogs. If you are interested in spoiling this precious girl please go to nobordersbulldogrescue.org.

9/24/2018 Update:

What a great week I had! I was only in my kennel at the vet for 3 days!  I love everyone at the vet but I want to be out where I can follow them and be close all the time.  I am a really smart girl, if I do say so myself, and truthfully it just gets really boring in a kennel.   I have a big ball in the kennel that I like to play with and a bone to chew but there is nothing that beats being out where I can explore and check every thing out myself.

I love it when they come get me and take me to the big room and one of my human friends is there!  That means I get to go in the car and go on an adventure.  I love adventures! Sometimes I get to go to a big building where there are lots of people walking up and down aisles. Sometimes I get to go to a smaller place that has lots of treats!  No matter where it is, everyone always tells me what a sweet girl I am and they give me lots of pets and belly rubs.  Have I mentioned belly rubs are my favorite?

Sometimes one of my human friends takes me to their house!  Being in a house is so much better than a kennel!  Whew!  I get to run! And roll in actual grass! And then I get to explore and sniff and taste all kinds of interesting green stuff.

Being at a real house also means I get to just hang out with a person all to myself.  I love people, so the more people I can be around the better but I am also happy just having one to myself.  It is the very best when I get to sleep in bed with them.  I get so happy I want to give them lots of kisses.  The first night back in a house I am so happy I can hardly stand it, but I finally settle down and sleep like a baby.

I did get to be around some other dogs this week.  I like the boy dogs but the girl dogs just aren’t my cup of tea. They don’t bother me so much when I am walking around but once we sit down and they are near my people it really irritates me.  I did meet a big black lab boy this week and he was pretty good looking.  I think I could play with him 😉

So I am still dreaming of the day when I go to the big room and someone picks me up and I never have to go back to the kennels again.  Can you help me?

9/16/2018 Update:  Wynona the Wonder dog here to say “Hi”!  Wynona went out for a shopping trip this week and literally had aisles blocked because of all the wonderful people stopping to love on her.  No one can resist her1  The most amazing thing to watch is how she is with children.  I have never seen anything like it.  She literally bows down to them or lays down at their feet and quietly holds there while they pet her.  One person watching her happened to work for a therapy dog group and said she was a perfect dog for therapy work with children.  How many young dogs can you say that about?  It is like watching a miracle!

The joy and love in this sweet girl is irresistible.  She just loves to be loved on.  Her face is so kissable and she just soaks it up.  She is a calm companion inside, but does love some play time and will suddenly have to run laps and then roll in the grass.  She will run a lap and then come back to you full speed and jump up wanting to play.  Each time she comes to her weekend home, she wants to run laps.  Probably because she is being kept at the vet.  She has a small run there, but evidently she likes to stretch her legs with a good run!  You can tell she is so happy to be outside in a yard that she is literally smiling as she runs her laps. She has really enjoyed her walks as well as long as you have some water for her on the hot evenings.  As much as she loves to run in the yard, she is great on the leash and very easy to walk.  She loves to be outside exploring nature and is still such the “scientist”.  She wants to smell and taste all of the nature around her.  Other times though she is so happy to just sit on the porch  and watch nature around her.

As mentioned before, Wynona is great with all people but in the past Wynona hasn’t always been good with other dogs.  However, this week Wynona revealed that she is capable of being around another dog. She calming walked with an older male Boston Terrier with no trouble except when his leash was attached and she seemed to be jealous of the attention given to him.  Once the leash was on though they were perfectly happy together. When she first sees him her tail starts wagging and she does some “play” invitations. Wynona seemed to really enjoy the company of another dog.  Another big event just occurred this morning. She met the female French Bulldog at the fence and didn’t even growl.  Later the temporary foster dad accidentally  let the female French Bulldog into the area where Wynona stays and they walked right past each other like it was no big deal.  They stayed in the same room together with Wynona on a leash and it was all good until the other dog sniffed “her bone”.  They were separated immediately and the other dog removed to her part of the house, but it was interesting to see that she isn’t immediately dog aggressive until triggered by a person or thing that she considers hers. When out and she sees another dog she seems interested, but easily keeps walking when told to do so.  So, Wynona is very manageable on a walk and possibly to live with smaller non aggressive males.  For sure she would be happy to be an only dog, but with very slow introductions to smaller males she could possibly be ok.

Wynona still doesn’t have a foster home or a forever family, but has been busy charming everyone she meets.  Since Wynona doesn’t have a full time foster family she has an army of volunteers trying to keep her spirits up.  Each day a different volunteer takes time to pick her up and get her out and about.  On the weekends she has a temporary home to give her some time away from living in a kennel full time.  It is heart breaking to see a dog with so much love,  such a  great personality, and a perfect house dog to have no family to call her own.

If you are looking for there perfect companion for your family Wynona is ready to devote herself to you!

9/12/2018 Update: Wynona had a little break today. First surprise was actually jumping in the car. She has always wanted to be picked up but today she hopped in no problem.

Second surprise was at the dog bakery where she was given a treat and had a few bites but then started carrying it around as if searching for a place to bury it. So outside we went and she ran straight to the bushes and started digging. Then she dropped her treat and covered it with her nose.  This was a surprise to me because I have never seen a bulldog bury a treat instead of eating it all.

She did have an issue with dogs both big and small but luckily Wynona is treated like family at the bakery and got to hang behind the counter whenever a dog came in.

She got her treats and lots of loves. She is just so happy to be around people.  If you think you could be the one to give this princess all the love and attention she deserves please visit nobordersbulldogrescue.org.

9/11/2018 Update:

Miss Wynona spent the afternoon with a volunteer exploring HomeGoods.  She made quite the impression on many shoppers and employees.  Everyone wanted to stop and meet her and she loved every minute!  As soon as she spots a new person she wiggles her way right up to get and give some loving!

She also spent some time in the dog bed aisle and picked one out for herself.  She laid down on it to test it out and looked at our volunteer with her big beautiful eyes and said “this is the one”.   So needless to say, Wynona left with a new bed and matching blanket.

Wynona ended her outing with a trip to the magic window and a puppuccino from Starbucks!

We are still in dire need of a home for Wynona.  If you are interested in opening your heart and home to a sweet girl in need, please go to our website and complete an application

9/10/2018 Update:  Once upon a time there was a beautiful female  bulldog named Wynona. She had a rich coat of tan tipped with black and a beautiful white flash across her black snout.   She loved people so very much and yet she was moved from home to home with no family to call her own.

She kept trying to show people how much she loved them but it was just never enough.
Wynona tried to do all the things that she knew would make her the perfect dog.  She never had an accident or chewed on anything.  She walked gently on a leash and never pulled.  She never ran off and, when called, she would come running joyfully to her people.  She would sit and take all her treats so gently even when it was a tasty piece of meat.  Wynona would sit when asked and look deeply into their eyes just waiting to see what they wanted next.   She would lay by their feet just waiting for any opportunity to show how good she was.  And yet, she is still without her person or family.
Wynona was also very smart. If she were a person she would be a scientist.  Wynona would investigate every natural wonder.  Wynona would be fascinated by all the natural wonders along a walk or In the yard and wanted to share all of that with someone.
One day, she was locked in the tower (vets office) because there was no home that could keep her.  Wynona loves people so much but just doesn’t like other dogs very much and all the volunteers in the kingdom had other dogs.  and wag her tail and play a little with an older male Boston terrier, so there is a possibility she might like a smaller male friend, but her true heart lays with finding her one true love in a person or family.
Well this fairy tale is today and  Wynona  is waiting for you to write her happy ending.   Are you her true love?

9/5/2018 Update:  Wynona got a break today and got completely spoiled at the dog bakery.  They just love her and give her treats, treats and more treats.  She got to spend over an hour there by herself until another dog came in.

It was a huge dog and even though it went to the back room where Wynona couldn’t see it she was obsessed with trying to find it.
Wynona opened up more as she wanted to rough house a little. Nothing major just running into my lap and gently gnawing my hand. She is such a great dog and very well behaved.  She knew she was supposed to be gentle

Wynona is looking for a family where she can be the center of attention.  If you want to be that person or family please visit nobordersbulldogrescue.org

9/3/2018 Update:  Mission POSSIBLE:

This is your mission should you choose to accept it.

Adopt Wynona and change both your lives forever.  This mission will bring you unlimited joy and Love and doesn’t require any fancy tricks or death defying acts!

Wyona is so doggone adorable (pun intended) and so incredibly sweet.

Wynona doesn’t just wag her cute little tail, she wags her whole back end.  Wynona is content to sleep on a dog bed but oh my what joy she has if she gets to sleep on the bed with you.  She is a great bed mate and finds her special place at the foot of the bed.  She does have to turn, paw, turn, paw, stop and check her handy work, turn, paw, turn paw, inspect…..yep! Perfection. plop!

Wynona LOVES the outdoors. Nature is her thing.  She wants to investigate, smell, taste everything green.  She is also happy just sitting outside by your side watching nature.  Because of the heat the morning and evenings are best right now, but she has been ok with a short evening walk as long as ice water is offered along the way.

Car rides are a bonus! Wynona loves going places as long as you lift her into the car.

Wynona is just a great companion all around. She is happy to just be with people. She is happy whether on a walk or just sitting with you while you read or watch tv.  Wynona is low maintenance!

Wynona loves to be with people but is also great in the house when you have to leave.   She is completely potty trained and doesn’t chew on things.  You just say goodbye and she chills out.  Just be ready for pure love when you walk back in the door!

It is really amazing what a perfect combination of playful and calm she is.  Wynona isn’t hyper at all but also likes to play or walk when you are ready.

Dogs aren’t her thing.  She really wants to be your only princess.  She has been ok with an older small male but females and bigger males haven’t worked so far.

So that is your mission!  Awesome, right?  This message will not self destruct in case you want to read about Wynona over and over again!

8/31/20118 Update:  Wynona got to have another break from the vet.  She went to Three Dogs Bakery where she gets spoiled with love and treats.  She remembered one of the workers from last week and decided she was going to stick by her side and that meant even more treats.

She was the only dog in the store today so she got to spend time greeting new people and wagging her tail.  Everyone said the same thing. “ She is so cute and so sweet!  If I didn’t already have dogs I would adopt her in a second.”  Everyone told her to hang in there because somewhere the perfect fit is waiting for her.  Could that perfect fit be you?

If you are interested in fostering or adopting please visit nobordersbulldogrescue.org

8/24/2018 Update:  Wynona was so excited to get out and about.  She wanted to be lifted into the car like a princess.  Once in the car she gave me a big smooch and loved looking out the window. When we arrived at Three Dog Bakery she received lots of treats and lots of loving.  She had a big smile on her face and her tail was wagging like crazy.  She did go after one big dog but as long as she was distracted she did not know other dogs were there. We couldn’t stay long because of the combination of her excitement and the heat. I hated to drop her off at the vet because she is so sweet and just wants to be with people and explore.
Please consider fostering or adopting and go to nobordersbulldogrescue.org

8/20/2018 Update:

It’s me Miss Wynona… I currently don’t have a foster family so I have decided to reach out to you and update you on what’s going on in my life. I have been part of the NBBR family for a while now and since being rescued I have had two foster families who couldn’t keep me because of personal reasons. I was told before I left them that it wasn’t my fault and I hadn’t done anything wrong but I couldn’t stay with them. It made me sad because I love being around people but there was not much I could do. I have also been told that the people in charge at the rescue are desperately looking for a new foster, foster to adopt or forever family for me but their efforts haven’t been paid off yet… they are looking for a qualified family where I would be the only pet and it sounds like a needle in a haystack. For the past three weeks I have been staying at the vet clinic and it’s not fun… I don’t like being around all these other animals and even if the people here treat me well it’s nothing like being in a real home with my own bed. I just thought it was going to be a short stay so I was making the best out of it and was showing my fun loving personality… but now I am starting to worry that I have been forgotten and I have all these terrible thoughts going through my head… what have I done wrong to not be able to be in a home?, is it my new life… being in a kennel days/nights 7days/week? I am getting worried and I heard the nice ladies here call someone at NBBR and said I was getting depressed… I hope I didn’t do something wrong and getting punished. I am feeling lonely and miss more human interaction and the warmth and love of a family.

I know this is not a very fun update but I am not well and thought I would reach out to you all and maybe you can network me and help finding a family that would open their door and heart to me (please no other pets at this time). Also if you have some time  in your busy schedule and you can travel to Southlake (Vet clinic) I would be happy to have visitors that can spend time with me (a nice walk, a car ride, a trip to the pet store,…) and it would cheer me up.

Before falling asleep every night I pray it’s going to be my last night here… Please help me make it happen.
Love,
Wynona

7/10/2018 Update

Hi, everyone – and especially my forever family, wherever you are!  I want to give you an update on what’s happening with me these days.

Life is good.  My Foster Mom makes sure that I don’t spend too much time outside since the temperature is so hot.  I would love to stay out longer than she lets me.  But when I come back inside, I realize how hot it is outside!  Mom keeps the house nice and cool for me.  And it’s great to nap on the sofa, my big chair, the tile floors, the hardwood floors, the rugs – come to think of it, there’s really not a bad place to nap!  Sometimes Mom and I take a nap together on the sofa.  I really like that!

I’ve had visits from Mom’s great niece and nephew and I love to play with them!  They are 4 and 8 years old.  They throw my toys so I can chase them.  That’s SO much fun!!  They hug me and give me kisses.  I wish they could come over to play every day.  Of course, I really need a nap when they go home.  Mom says I am really good with children.  Actually, I like people generally but children are the best!!

I love to do things with Mom. Sometimes I get to ride in the car.  I’m a really good traveler and love looking out of the window.  I’ve heard of Bulldogs that don’t enjoy it, but I do!  I like to help Mom work in the yard when it’s not too hot.  One of my favorite memories of helping her was when she was planting bulbs.  She dug 9 holes and put 9 pretty big bulbs in them.  They looked like balls to me.  She went inside for a couple of minutes and when she came back, I had taken all the bulbs out of the holes and scattered them across the back yard. She laughed and gave me hugs.  She said I was acting like a puppy.  I’m glad she doesn’t get mad at me.

I’m really not used to being around other dogs or cats.  I would love to be an “only” pet.  I’m really good at soaking up the petting and the hugs and would love to have a contest with my forever family to see if they could give me more love than I could handle!   I think I would win that contest.

I’m really looking forward to meeting my forever family.  Mom thinks whoever adopts me will be so lucky!   And I know I will be lucky, too!!

5/20/2018 Update:

Hi, Guys!   It’s been a while since my Foster Mom and I have reported in.  Mom had to have a bit of surgery and hasn’t felt very well for a few weeks.  And while I can dictate what I want to say, I can’t type very well. Opposing thumbs are pretty wonderful!  When we get them, Bulldogs with rule!   Of course, we do pretty well in the ruling category already!!

My life is really good.  I can usually tell Mom what I want.  I’ve trained her pretty well and life is good.  I say indoors most of the time since it has gotten so warm.  I don’t really mind.  I’d much rather be cool.

I’m feeling really good.   Haven’t had to visit the vet lately.  Still need drops in my eyes and ears each week.  I don’t like them but I let Mom put them in.  After Mom turns me loose, I shake my head like crazy.

The pictures I selected for you to see show are some of my favorites.  The first one shows how much I pay attention when we go for a drive.  I think Mom needs all the help I can provide in traffic.

3/11/2018 Update:

Hi!   Just wanted to check in and tell you what I have been doing this past week.  Mom was concerned about my eye and we went to see the doctor in Southlake.  The eye is okay – he said I had some “reactive tissue” – and I have to continue my eye drops.  I LOVE riding in the car.  Mom said I am a really good passenger.  I sit still and watch what’s happening outside.  Speaking of outside, Mom and I did a lot of yard work.  We planted tons of bulbs, etc.  Mom planted Elephant Ear bulbs that are a perfect size for me to play with!  She dug lots of holes and put the bulbs in and went inside for a minute.  When she came back I had moved them from the holes and was playing with them all over the yard!  Mom remembers I am two years old and cut me some slack!  When I look up at her – like in the picture – she just melts!  She loves me a lot and hopes I find my forever home soon.

3/4/2018 Update:

Hello, everyone!  I’ve had a good week and am SO happy that the rain has stopped for a while.  My Mom was getting tired of mopping every time I came inside.  But she loves me a lot so she didn’t get mad.  Sometimes I walked through where she had just mopped and made new tracks.  She just laughed and said it’s been a while since she’s had a two year old in the house!

Tomorrow we’re going to work in the yard.  Not sure what that means but she’s bought new plants and bulbs – I think it has something to do with that.  I love new experiences and will probably have stories to tell in next weeks report.

Mom likes to take me out for walks and I’m doing well on my leash.  I’m just waiting for my forever family to come and love me the Mom does!  She tells me we’re going to meetings where I can visit with folks who may want to adopt me. Sounds like FUN!!  Maybe I’ll see you there.

2/27/2018 Update:  Wow!  What a wet week this has been.  My Foster Mom tried to get me to go outside to go potty many times during the days.  I went but I really don’t like the rain and Mom has had to mop every time I go outside.  She said my “dainty paws” – and I’m not sure what that means – brought in lots of water.  She’s glad she has wood floors!   I’m glad she really loves me and doesn’t get mad at me.  I don’t like to get wet, but I go out because I really like making her proud of me!  These  pictures of me show some of my favorite toys.  My monkey and my ball are lots of fun.  I’ve loved the ears off my monkey.  😊 I really like when Mom throws the ball and I get to chase it.  It’s fun inside, but even more fun outside where I can run after it!  I can run really fast – and when I do, Mom laughs and tells me how wonderful I am!   I’m happy at my Foster Moms house but really look forward to finding my forever home.  Bet you would love me, too!  I am really a charmer!

2/20/2018 Update:  Wynona had another really good week.  She did have to go back to the vet to see about an eye following cherry eye surgery on both eyes.  She’s been very good about letting me put ointment in the eye and it’s much better.  She’s an energetic, playful 2 year old.  Her manners have improved significantly!   She sits before getting her meals and on command, she comes when called, she rarely jumps up on me (only when she’s really excited!), and charms me in new ways every day!  She’s a joy!!

2/10/2018 Update:

Hi, gang!  This my very first weekly report since coming from Houston to Fort Worth to live with my new Foster Mom.  We have gotten along really well.  I’m almost as excited to be here as she is to have me.  I’ve been relearning my manners and Mom says I am doing really well.  I’ve pretty well stopped jumping up to greet people.  Mom explained that some people may be frightened when a dog they don’t know well jumps up like that.  I really don’t want to frighten anyone – but sometimes I forget.  Mom reminds me and I try to do better because I don’t want to disappoint her.  She wasn’t sure how I would react to children when her niece stopped by but I was really great!   I was very excited to meet her and her mom but I remembered not to jump.  Mom was so proud of me!  I am also trying to remember to “sit” and “stay” and “lie down” when I’m told.

Mom and I go outside to play almost every day.  She bought me a really cool ball that we play with. She throws it and I chase it.  It’s lots of fun – especially outside!  I have a Teddy Bear and some heavy duty chew toys I brought from Houston.  I had the neatest pink ball I liked to carry around but the rubbery outside started peeling away and Mom didn’t want me to swallow it so she got me a red one.  I really love my toys.  Mom puts some in my crate when I go to bed. I like having them near.  And soon after I get up I take them out of my crate and lay them neatly on the rug so I’ll know where they are when I want to play.  Mom thinks that is SO cute!

I’ve had eye surgery and Mom puts ointment in my eye.  I’m not crazy about that but she tells me I need it so my eye gets well sooner.  I’ll be happy when that’s all done but I am glad I have a Mom who takes good care of me.

I think Mom is going to put a couple of pictures of me with the report.  She says I really “rock” the smoky eyes look!  I’m not sure what that means but I know my Mom thinks I’m adorable!  I hope you will too.

1/7/2018 Update:

Wynona here

I got a new toy and I love it, a soccer ball! I will chase it all around the yard but when it goes in the pool FM has to fish it out for me. FM brought it inside and I played until I fell asleep.
I have finally learned to sit to get my food. FM is thrilled with this new habit. I learned by sitting I get my food faster.
I love the colder weather. I run around every time I go outside and wait for FS to play.

12/24/2017 Update:

Wynona here

I had a nice quiet Christmas. FM got us new toys and benebones. I got a little turkey and it was yummy!
A quick trip to the vet for my eyes to be checked and the lube they gave me for my eyes works much better than the drops. FM days it’s so I can see her better.
I absolutely love my belly being rubbed. In fact, FM says I have the softest tummy ever felt. I always get extra belly rubs because it’s so soft. That’s all for

12/22/2017 Update: Wynona here…
I had a trip to the vet to check out my eyes. My third eye lid has been inflamed due to allergies so the Dr prescribed some ointment. My eyes look and feel much better. FM is also giving me some benadryl to help my allergies.
We had a visitor for a few days and I loved playing with a fur friend. We would chase for hours in the back yard.
I continue to discover new things like snow and balls. Although I don’t bring the ball back yet, I love chasing them.

12/7/2017 Update:  I had a blast this am playing in the snow.  I’m taking a break to get some loving! I’m loving the cold weather

12/3/2017 Update:  Wynona here. I had a great time at the dog suites over thanksgiving. Then my FM came home and I had turkey and sweet potatoes, i love human food! Of course lounging in the couch to follow.
I like car rides because I know I’m going to see dogs or lots of humans. I met small dogs this week and cats. That cat had claws, i chased the cat and cornered it and the cat won. I would be best in a home with no cat. I’m good around small dogs and horses though.

11/19/2017 Update:

Wynona here.
I’m off crate rest and I love playing with my fur foster sissy. We play chase every morning occasionally getting distracted by a squirrel. I discovered tug of war and I enjoy playing that with my fm. I learned how to high five this week, of course a treat to follow. I went to the vet and Dr F said I’m doing good. That’s all for now.

11/5/2017 Update:

Wynona here
I am now free to roam and have been doing great! I go in for my final checkup for the pesky heartworms next Monday. My fm had a bit of a scare with my breathing last week so I went to Dr F and x-rays showed inflammation on my lungs. But I’m doing better now that I’m on meds.

Have I ever mentioned I like to eat? Well I do. In fact I search the yard every day, sometimes digging, for worms. Fm tells me no but I eat them anyways.

10/23/2017 Update:

Wynona here

It’s been a long road to recovery from these pesky heartworms but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Less than 2 weeks and I’m outta the crate. I do like to make my own bed in my crate.
I don’t like to be touched while I’m eating. My foster mom learned i will quickly move away from her if I’m eating. I like my morning breakfast outside so i can go potty right after.

I love my walks to see what all the neighbors are up to. I get extra loving from them. Did I mention I love to kiss, especially sticky kids.

9/18/2017 Update:

Wynona here…

I’ve been on crate rest for my first round of heartworm treatment and I’m doing very well. I don’t care to be in the crate so I bark for my foster mom to go potty and get loves. Look at how pretty my crate is though. My foster mom did a great job and it’s comfy.

I got a new halter from DodiDog and I love it! It helps me on my walks to not pull my foster mom around.

I will now sit on command and we are still working on stay and lay down. I like to look at my foster mom when she is telling me to sit and giving hand commands. I especially like the reward i get after a walk, treats!

9/11/2017  Update: Wynona here. I had a tough week. I got the all clear on my eyes and started heartworm
treatment. I don’t like be in the crate all day but my foster mom comes in and does office work and let’s me come out to get love and snuggles. I’m loving my extended walks and all the love the neighbor kids are giving me.
I’m finally able to walk up to another dog on a leash and be a good girl. I’m now not aggressive when on a leash! I’m learning to sit and stay, always for a reward in the end.

9/4/2017 Update:  I learned this past week if the front door is open, I’m making a dash for outside. I absolutely love the neighborhood kids though some are scared of my playfulness. Sometimes I don’t know my own strength.

I go to the vet today for my eye to be checked and see if the cyst is gone. I’m hopeful to start heartworm treatment today as well. My eye looks and feels much better.

I’m learning to share my treat balls with my fur friends. I love a good game of tug of war. I’m learning to be less aggressive when walking on a leash for my morning walks.

8/27/2017 Update: I am learning to be a social dog and liking my new friends. I have to take a break every once in awhile and have alone time with my foster mom, as I need a lot of reassuring affection. I’m also learning to play tug of war with my friends. I absolutely love my benebone. I will now jump on the couch without hesitation, I used to be so afraid.

My eyes are doing much better but I will need drops for the rest of my life due to both dry eyes. Weather permitting our next vet visit this week to get the clear to start heartworm treatment.  We are hopeful to start so my perfect family can adopt me.
I am very food and treat motivated. I simply want to love and be loved. I do seek a lot of attention and love from my foster mom. I would be best as a single household pet with older children in their teens.

8/7/2017 Update:  Wynona here checking in. The vet found a cyst on my eye so we are treating that before we treat my heartworms. I have a dry right eye so i will more than likely need eye drops the rest of my life.

I like to chew on my Benebone while on crate rest. My foster mom got me a puzzle treat dispenser when I’m playing because i love treats and need to play gently to heal. I really like to run with the smaller foster siblings and play ball. I’m still afraid to jump on the couch so my foster mom has several beds for me to choose.

7/31/2017 Update:  Please welcome Wynona to No Borders Bulldog Rescue family.  Wynona is a two year old female English Bulldog that weighs 50 lbs.

This pretty girl has been through a lot in her young life. Found roaming the streets, it was apparent right away she had just been in a shelter. She had stitches protruding from her eyes from cherry eye removal and was spayed while in heat. Luckily Wynona found her way to a rescue, but after being there for months, Wynona was left in a crate for 23 hours a day. The founder of that rescue reached out to NBBR needing help.

Now that Wynona is a member of No Borders Bulldog Rescue family her first step will be to the clinic to determine what medical treatment will be necessary. We do know that she is Heartworm positive, the previous rescue was doing the “slow kill” method.  We have decided to stick to our protocol and take care of this immediately as well as any other necessary medications.

Wynona is 2 years of age and has a ton of energy. She is leash trained, house trained and crate trained. She is good with children but needs some time warming up to other dogs. She is very food motivated and likes treats. She loves baths and to be blow dried. She appears to get along with some dogs, so a family where she can be the Queen B would be best.
