5/1/2024 Update:

Sadie was ADOPTED!!!!!!   it is with great happiness that we can announce that Sadie has found her forever family.

Sadie joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender. Sadie’s previous family was moving and unable to take her to their new home.  They decided that it would be best if they had a Rescue that was familiar with Bulldogs (French Bulldogs specifically) to help find her a new home. They contacted us and asked if we could help.  As with most every Rescue these days, we are busting at the seams, but luckily for Sadie we had a recent foster home that seemed a perfect fit for her. After joining the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family, Sadie’s first stop was the clinic to determine what medical care she might need.  We knew that she would need to be spayed and updated on her vaccines.  We received great news.  Sadie was heartworm and parasite negative and received a clean bill of health.

Sadie’s new forever home started as her foster home.  After three days of fostering, we received a call saying, ” I can’t do this”.  At first, we thought that it was because fostering was not what her foster Mom had thought. (While we try our best to educate potential fosters, it happens.).  BUT this was the farthest thing from the reason for the call.   It was the exact opposite.  After a very short time, Sadie had worked her magic and her foster/now forever Mom could not imagine life without Sadie.   So…..we waited awhile to make sure that everyone was on the same page.  Sadie had a foster sister that would have the final say so.  On initial meeting there was a little snippiness, but nothing major.   We felt that giving everyone sufficient time to settle in and get acquainted would be best.  Well, you guessed it, the ladies decided that they in fact were a good fit for one another.  So, Sadie will now be known as Lily.  Lily hit the jackpot. She now has a forever home, new Mom and a sister that she likes.  Lily is still a work in progress and that is something that her mom has completely signed on for.  Lily isn’t the friendliest lady when she meets new dogs on her daily walks.  So, Mom and Lily will be working on this issue.  Otherwise, Lily is loving life, and we are so happy for the entire family. Congratulations and thank you for opening your home and hearts to Lily and giving her the second chance that she so deserved.

3/24/2024 Update:

Sadie has settled into her foster home really well and her and her foster sister are becoming “sweet friends”. At least that is what her foster mom tells them every time they stare at each other for too long. Sadie’s foster mom has referred to her as a little spider monkey because she can jump quite high and isn’t afraid to attempt to jump on anything. She’s very very sweet dog, loves to cuddle and is protective of her foster mom.  She’s gotten better on walks, but gets very excited when she sees other dogs, squirrels or bunnies.

She got spayed and her nares done last week and is recovering well. She is not the most compliant patient, but is healing well and very excited to get her cone off next week!

3/15/2024 Update:

Please welcome Sadie to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.  Sadie is a two-year-old female French Bulldog that weighs 19 lbs.

Sadie joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender. Sadie’s previous family are moving and unable to take her to their new home.  They decided that it would be best if they had a Rescue that was familiar with Bulldogs (French Bulldogs specifically) to help find her a new home. They contacted us and asked if we could help.  As with most every Rescue these days, we are busting at the seams, but luckily for Sadie we had a recent foster home that seemed a perfect fit for Sadie.

After joining the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family, Sadie’s first stop was the clinic to determine what medical care she might need.  We knew that she would need to be spayed and updated on her vaccines.  We received great news.  Sadie is heartworm and parasite negative and received a clean bill of health.  We did receive a small update that was unexpected-Sadie is in heat.  The last two female bulldogs that we have taken in have BOTH been in heat.  So glad that Sadie found her way to Rescue where she will be spayed and spared the possibility of winding up in the wrong hands and a life of irresponsible breeding.

From the clinic Sadie joined her foster family.  Sadie is a very sweet girl.  It appears that she is a grade A master cuddler.   She does have energy, but it is in spurts.   One thing we noticed about Sadie is at times she looks “sad”.   We are sure that some of this is due to being surrendered and having her little world turned upside down.  The other thing about Sadie is that she is resilient.  She likes to go for walks, however she seems to be in much more of a hurry to get somewhere than others and pulls on her leash a bit.  Foster Mom will be working on her leash manners for sure.   She has been good with her foster sister.  Both her and her foster sister are keeping close eyes on each other.  Stay turned for updates as Sadie begins her journey to find a forever home that is perfect for her (notice we didn’t say perfect, but perfect for her.) The great news is that we KNOW that home is out there and we are beyond excited to help Sadie find it.
