8/18/2026 Update:
Howdy, friends! It’s me, Lincoln (aka Linky Stinky, aka Snack Inspector General) checking in!
I’m officially two weeks post-bilateral cherry eye surgery, and I’m happy to report that everything went great! The only real tragedies were the dreaded Cone of Shame and having to take my medicines. Honestly, 0/10 experience. Would not recommend. But my eyes are healing beautifully, and my vets say I’m doing awesome!
Now that I’m feeling better, I’m back to my usual silly, energetic, and slightly sassy self. My foster fur sibling and I have resumed our regularly scheduled backyard wrestling matches. We spend a lot of time roughhousing, running zoomies, and drooling all over each other. Sharing toys, however? Let’s not get carried away. We are still working through some “ownership disagreements.”
The best news? I have gained a completely unbiased 8 pounds since arriving! My vets say I’m looking much healthier these days. Personally, I attribute this success to my strict policy of eating absolutely everything in sight and never missing a meal. Ever. Not once. Food remains one of my greatest passions.
I’ve also been practicing giving kisses. I’m getting pretty good at it, although I may still be learning a thing or two about personal space and appropriate kiss boundaries. Sometimes I politely ask for attention. Other times, I aggressively demand it. Either way, I usually get what I want.
One of my greatest accomplishments has been discovering the perfect couch seat. By strategically positioning myself on the center console between humans, I’ve found a location that allows me to monitor everyone at all times. No one sneaks away without my approval now.
I’m still loving my daily walks and making great progress when other dogs pass by. Redirection is getting easier, though my foster family says it’s still a work in progress. I prefer to call it “advanced social studies.”
Looking ahead, I can’t wait for my eyes to be fully healed so I can get back to one of my favorite activities: pool season! Summer and swimming are calling my name, and I am more than ready.

7/28/2026 Update:
Hey friends!
I’ve been settling into foster life, and I’m happy to report that my true personality is officially starting to make an appearance. Turns out, I’m kind of a silly boy. Who knew? (Well… probably everyone except me.)
One of my favorite discoveries so far has been cuddles. I wasn’t completely sure about this whole snuggling thing at first, but now I’m pretty convinced it’s one of the greatest inventions ever. Whether it’s couch time, bedtime, or any time in between, I’m always happy to volunteer for cuddle duty.
Speaking of new adventures, my foster family introduced me to my very own personal flotation device because I’ve discovered that the pool is AWESOME! I’m still working out the finer details of this thing humans call “swimming,” but my life jacket lets me safely join in all the family fun. I may not have mastered the doggy paddle yet, but I definitely look adorable trying.
I’ve also expanded my other favorite hobby: snacking. During these hot summer months, I’ve learned that nothing beats cold, refreshing fruit. Strawberries? Amazing. Other fruits? Also amazing. And as always, I make sure everyone knows how much I enjoyed my snack by leaving behind a few lovingly placed drool puddles. You’re welcome.
I have a giant dog bed fit for royalty, and I do enjoy it. However, I’ve recently discovered that my foster family’s bed is even better. I’ve become quite comfortable curling up next to them and, every now and then, I like to rest my head on my favorite pillow. The man of the house keeps insisting that it’s actually his neck, but honestly, I don’t see the difference. It seems perfectly comfortable to me. Not sure why he’s complaining.
I do have a little bump in the road coming up. I’ll be having cherry eye surgery on August 6th. I’m not particularly excited about that part, but my foster family says I’ll be feeling better in no time. Knowing me, I’ll probably be back to my regular shenanigans, snack patrol, and poolside adventures within a few days.

7/15/2026 Update:
Lincoln’s foster family here, checking in.
The Lincoln Lawyer himself is settling in nicely. He is about a week and a half post-neuter surgery and healing nicely. As he settles into his foster home, he’s starting to warm up to the house rules and find his routine. He is a master of the doggie door now and enjoys his occasional sunbathing and zoomies through the yard. He loves his daily walks early morning and late evening, as the temperature allows, and is becoming a much better walker. He is still alerted to passing dogs, but is becoming more socialized and more easily redirected as he becomes acquainted with these environments. With each passing day, his true personality is shining through. He’s affectionate, playful, and full of puppy enthusiasm, always ready for an adventure or a game of tug-of-war with one of his chew toys. Now that he’s becoming more comfortable, his goofy charm and lovable character are really starting to come out. He brings endless fun, plenty of cuddles, and a little bit of puppy mischief wherever he goes. He and his foster fur brother are still progressing slowly in toy play, but he has quickly learned his boundaries around what he can and can’t get away with. They share beds, couches, and food with each other very well, but the toys and playtime are a work in progress. He has one more surgery to get past for his cherry eyes, so he can receive a clean bill of health
6/29/2026 Update:
Lincoln’s foster family here, checking in with an update on Lincoln, aka Lincoln Lawyer, aka Stinky Linky
First, Lincoln is such a sweet boy. He has beautiful brindle-colored markings and 65 pounds (already put on a few pounds since his arrival a month ago, as he never misses a meal or snack without paying for it with his currency of slobbery kisses). He joined our household with equal parts boundless energy, endless cuddles, and curiosity. We have learned he can pretty much sleep anywhere. After getting his nighttime cuddles in with the house members and a few ear nibble kisses as everyone touches their pillows, he eventually finds his way back to the sofa. He has already laid claim to his preferred sleeping spot, where he ends up on his back, stretched out in only the ways he knows how, as he enjoys being an independent sleeper.
Lincoln is very well trained when it comes to potty training. He has been with us just a month and has had zero accidents. While unsure initially, he mastered the doggie door in a few short weeks after being taught by his fur foster sibling and it’s not uncommon to find Lincoln going in and out on his own to venture the back yard, bird watch, or take in a few minutes here and there sunbathing at his leisure, which he thoroughly enjoys. We learned on intake that he used to be bell-trained and would jingle bells at the door if he needed to be let outside. We have placed those on our doors as well, and he will use those as needed, although that has turned into us just getting hustled for an extra walk here and there, sneaky little guy he is. He is doing much better on his walks as he was very alerted, barked, and pulled upon his arrival with seeing other dogs or new situations. He can now go on walks without barking at all unless another dog barks at him first, and he is working to redirect when that happens. He still gets a little anxious around new situations, such as motorcycles driving through the neighborhood or fireworks, as of late being popped in nearby neighborhoods.
Lincoln has spurts where he loves to play. He most loves his chew toys and squeaker toys. He and his fur foster sibling don’t prefer to share their toys as of yet but have become cordial in their play time and respect each other’s boundaries except they get jealous if only one adult is playing with both. Work in progress on play time at the moment. Lincoln has found his favorite game, he finds it very amusing, when play time is over, he likes to steal his fur foster sibling toys and hide them. Very cute, and then the adults in the home get to play hide-and-seek with those items later. While we are working on toys and playtime, he and his fur foster sibling are both very respectful during mealtime. Both can eat and drink next to each other and respect boundaries, with no issues noted so far, aside from some drool puddles left on each other’s bodies while waiting for their turns.
All in all, Lincoln is really starting to settle in and learn the house routines as he seems to do better with schedules and structure. He is very smart and lovey boy. He listens well and enjoys being next to our family members as much as possible. Given his life was flipped upside down less than a month ago, he really is doing great all things considered. He has surgery to be neutered by end of this week and will be getting on the schedule once healed to get both of his Cherry eyes corrected and then be as good as new. 5/31/2026 Update:
Please welcome Lincoln to No Borders Bulldog Rescue. Lincoln is a 3-year-old male Olde English Bulldog that weighs approximately 65lbs.
Lincoln joins the NBBR family via way of owner surrender. His previous family has had some financial issues and has a new baby on the way. Due to these circumstances, they reached out to NBBR to ask if we could find Lincoln a new forever home. While it has been difficult to find foster homes lately (times are tough for everyone), we did have a home that was a fit for him. So, we immediately started the intake process for Mr. Linc. Like many of the Bulldogs that find their way to No Borders Bulldog Rescue, Lincoln was not in our primary “service area”. While we have fosters and volunteers in many different areas, it is very rare for the Bulldog and the foster home to be in the same one. With that said, this never deters us, it just means that there are additional steps and more coordination. Never fear, our dedicated volunteer team made things happened and Lincoln began his journey to find his forever home.
The first step for Lincoln was a trip to the clinic to get a health assessment. We already knew that Lincoln would need to be neutered, his shots brought up to date and that he was having diarrhea. Unfortunately, the clinics schedule was booked so we have had to wait a few days. All of Lincoln’s health needs will be addressed as he has an appointment on Monday.
A couple of things to know about Lincoln, he is a complete lovebug. He loves cuddling, walks and being around his people. One thing that Lincoln’s foster family is working on is socialization. Previously Lincoln was an only dog and never been exposed to other dogs. So, while Lincoln isn’t Cujo (wanting to kill ever dog he sees), he doesn’t really have any manners and wants to let everyone know he is the boss. His foster family is working diligently with him and are making great strides. Sidenote: fostering isn’t always rainbows and butterflies, BUT we are so thankful for our foster famlies and their dedication to each and every dog they help (especially Lincoln’s foster family as they are new). Currently everyone is taking things very slow and getting acquainted while learning the ropes of the new schedule. Stay tuned as we get more updates on Mr. L and what exactly what makes him tick.
