7/13/2018 Update:

Beatrix was ADOPTED!!!! It is with great pleasure that we can announce that Beatrix has found her forever family.

Beatrix and two of her older puppies joined NBBR as an owner surrender. Their family h had a significant change in their life. This change in lifestyle meant the Bulldogs were spending many hours crated.  The family really loved the trio of B’s and after much discussion and thought, they contacted NBBR and asked if we would help them find forever homes. The family knew they were no longer able to provide the best life for the dogs and wanted them to be happy and have all the attention they deserved.

Beatrix’ forever Mom applied to be a forever home several months before Beatrix arrived in Rescue.  After several months, she decided that while she waited for “the one” she would become a NBBR foster family.  Initially when she and Beatrix met it was a nice meeting.  After several weeks, Trixie’s foster Mom thought that they weren’t bonding and that there was something wrong with her (foster Mom) that made Beatrix not want to bond with her.  Beatrix had been through a HUGE change in her life, she was very unsure of things. However, Beatrix had other plans,  while she was slow to warm up, one morning Beatrix decided to turn on the charm. Beatrix started cuddling and following her foster Mom everywhere. Not only did they bond, Beatrix started to trust again and she and her new forever Mom became a forever match. (Sometimes it just takes a little more time and patience for that forever bond to form).  Beatrix is now the center of attention (which she loves). Congratulations to Beatrix and her forever Mom

7/2/2018 Update:  Hi again to all my followers, Beatrix here!  This past week I got to meet the neighbor dog and his humans.  I was so excited to meet the new people, I ran into their house and made myself at home.  I had fun playing with Milo (the neighbor dog), and can’t wait to play with him again!  I spent the rest of the time chilling in the a/c cooled house and enjoyed my occasional sunbathing when FM allowed.  I did have one accident in the house this week when i got so excited by visitors and their children that i peed a little on the floor as they were giving me awesome belly rubs.  Hopefully i will do better next time they come over.  Sending love and puppy kisses!

6/24/2018 Update:

Hi all, Beatrix here!  I had a nice relaxing week with FM again.  This week was exciting because when FM went to work, she no longer puts me in the kennel. I have been sure to be on my best behavior while she is gone!  I didn’t have any accidents or destroy the house while I was alone. It’s great to be such a well behaved bully because it gets me lots of goodies like toys and treats.
I am learning when is a good time to bark and when is not. I bark when the doorbell rings, but am learning not to bark at visitors once they are in the house, but it’s hard because I just want to talk to everyone.

This week I learned the joys of sunbathing. FM only lets me do it for a few minutes at a time but I love to go out on the patio and soak up the sun and watching the birds fly around the yard. I will ask to go out to the bathroom but will just lay down when I get outside. I can’t wait for the fall when I can lay outside for longer periods of time.

6/17/2018 Update Hi, Beatrix (aka Trixie) here!  I had a nice quiet week this week. I got to do some of my favorite things with FM.  We watched TV together, took naps together, and soaked up the sun when it wasn’t too hot. I also got my ears and nose cleaned and was such a good girl that I got many treats as a reward.  I really enjoy riding in FMs truck, and will run outside and stand next to the truck, excited to go for a ride.  Still waiting to meet my forever family, but enjoying the vacation with FM while I wait.

6/11/2018 Update:

Hi again, Beatrix (aka Trixie) here!  This week I went on adventure with FM to a store called PetSmart. I rode like a good girl for a while but then decided I wanted to help drive. FM didn’t seem to want the help, but I tried to steer anyways, lol. When we got to the store there were treats, toys, and dogs everywhere. I was on my best behavior, I sniffed a couple fellow shopping doggies, but didn’t bark or snap at any of them. I’m very good around other dogs, I’ve never misbehaved with FM around.

After the store I came home and got into the pool. Well, there was no water in it, but I got in happily anyway. I don’t like to get my beautiful fur wet anyways.

I’m still working on not yelling at visitors, but I think I’m making good progress!  I still have never had an accident in the house and ive only chewed on one thing FM didn’t want me to.

I am such a sweetheart (FM tells me so)!   I would love to find my forever home soon, and can’t wait to meet you!

6/4/2018 Update:

Hi everyone, Beatrix (aka Trixie) here again!  I had a pretty chill week, despite the hot hot temperatures outside.  Ive been lounging around the house with FM and soaking up all the a/c I can.  FM went back to work this week, so Ive been home alone during the day, and Ive been so good!  Ive had no accidents in the house, and just love when FM comes home, I don’t want to leave her side.

Ive always enjoyed sleeping on the couch next to FM, but this week I decided to give being a lap dog a chance.  Im still working out how to be a lap dog by sitting on FM’s legs, curling up next to her, and just resting my head on her lap, eventually i’ll figure it out.

I tried to please FM this week and got in the pool she bought me.  I just stood in the pool, but she gave me lots of love for it, so maybe the pool isn’t so bad after all.  I also enjoyed exploring more of the backyard, sniffing everything i could, playing with bugs, and sticking my whole head in the grass.

FM has been teaching me to respond to my name, and how not to yell at visitors.  I think Im doing really good, I am getting lots of treats, and FM seems happier.  We had visitors today, and I only barked when they first came in, then I jumped on the couch and cuddled with FM the rest of the time the visitors were here.  This got me lots of love and some treats, so maybe visitors are okay to have around.

I am pretty low energy, but usually once a day I have a burst of energy when I like to roughhouse for about 10 minutes.  When FM is busy, I occupy myself with my benebone and squeaky toys, never being a bother to anyone.  I still am day-dreaming about finding my fur-ever family.  I would love to find a house where I am an only dog or one where I’d have fur-siblings, I’m flexible.  I just love to be loved, and cant wait to meet you!

5/28/2018 Update: Hi everyone, Beatrix (aka Trixie) here again!  This week has been a slow week because it is too hot to spend any real time outside.  I’ve decided I don’t like going on early morning walks anymore, I stop at Foster Mom’s truck and refuse to go any further.  I don’t understand why FM wants to walk the neighborhood when she can drive, but every once in a while I will humor her and walk nicely next to her until she decides to walk home.

I still enjoy following FM around the house, but I’m learning my independence.  I will stay on the couch to sleep while she is in the kitchen or in another room.  If she goes outside, I follow her and will bark out to her until she returns.  I also still get scared when we have visitors come in the house.  I bark at the visitors until they leave or I’m told to kennel up.  FM tries to calm me down when I’m scared, but I still don’t like new people in my space.  FM says I might need to go to training to get over my fears.

FM bought me a lot of toys including stuffed toys, squeaky toys, and various types of balls.  I nose them around the floor, but don’t like to chew on them or play with them much, I’d rather sleep.  One thing I do enjoy is rough-housing with FM.  We crouch down and jump at each other.  Then I gently mouth FM’s hand while i flip on my belly and get tons of belly rubs.  It’s a lot of fun and the burst of energy I get is a perfect way to exercise and keep my perfect womanly-bulldoggy figure.

I have been a good bully, and not had a single accident in the house.  One day when I went outside to do my business, I was surprised to see this thing called a kiddie pool. FM tried everything to get me to jump in and play in the water, but despite the heat, I didn’t want to get my beautiful fur wet.  Instead I just drank the water as if the pool was a giant water bowl.  I was also a good dog when taking my eye drops.  I would sit nicely and get treats after the drops were in.  Thankfully my week of eye drops is over, but now I need to find new reasons to get treats.  Maybe FM will give me some treats just for giving her puppy kisses and a big smile.

5/21/2018 Update:

Hi everyone, Beatrix here!  I’m nicely settling into my new foster home and enjoying getting to know my Foster Mom.  We’ve been going on early morning walks around the neighborhood where I’ve gotten to meet neighbors and neighbor-pups.  I get along with everyone on our walks, and am very good walking on a leash without any pulling.

When at home, I like to curl up on the couch with FM or follow her around the house as she does her daily chores.  I have perfect house manners, I don’t beg for food, don’t chew on anything but my toys, and i haven’t had a single accident in the house.  FM says Im a perfect little bully buddy.  She even left me alone for an hour to run to the store and I didn’t get into any mischief while she was gone, just napped on the couch.

One thing I don’t enjoy is when FM puts eye drops in my eyes for my eye infection.  But I sit nicely when she does it, and then I get a biscuit when she’s done!  I also don’t care much for visitors.  We had a new visitor yesterday and I loudly told them they were not welcome in my space.  FM told me to kennel up which I did without a fight, and I felt safer while the visitor was here and stopped yelling at him.

My favorite part of the day is when FM lets me sleep in her bed with her at night.  I learned how to go up the doggie stairs to get in since i am too short to jump up.  I shower FM with puppy kisses to thank her for the great day and snuggle with her till she falls asleep, then i take my spot at the foot of the bed and sleep dreaming about finding my forever family.

5/19/2018 Update:   Please welcome Beatrix to No Borders Bulldog Rescue. Beatirx is a 6 year old female English Bulldog that weighs 63 lbs.

Beatrix, Belle and Blue all join the NBBR family as owner surrenders. Their family has had a significant change in their life.

Beatrix’ (Bea for short) first stop after joining was to the clinic to get a quick check up. Beatrix was very loved and well taken care of. She was up to date on all vaccines, Heartworm preventative and is Heartworm negative.  Bea does have a minor eye infection that will need to have daily drops but should clear up quickly.

Beatrix is a very happy go lucky lady that appears to like everybody and everything she meets. While she has been living with Belle and Blue, she does well with or without the others – they are not a bonded group. While we would love to keep them together, it is highly unlikely, so we will be focusing on each individual Bulldog and finding the best suited home for them.  Beatrix appears to be a Velcro Bulldog and all she wants to do is be close to her humans (or any humans for that matter).  Beatrix joined her new foster Mom today and she appeared very happy as she jumped into the car and settled into the front passenger seat.

Stay tuned for additional information on Beatrix as she settles in with her foster family and we learn more about her.  Once settled, Bea will start her journey to find her new forever family, is that you???
