4/3/2020 Update:

Bowzer has been ADOPTED!!!! It is with the happiest of hearts that we are able to announce that Bowzer has found his forever family.

Bowzer joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender.   Bowzer had been adopted by his previous family from a friend who could not take proper care of him. Everything was going well until his family underwent some major changes.  These changes not only affected Bowzer’s family, they affected him as well.  Bowzer was being crated for many, many hours at a time. After trying to find a better alternative for Bowzer with no luck, his family contacted NBBR to see if we would take him and find him a forever home.  Bowzer had some minor health issues but was “relatively” healthy.   He then joined his foster family to settle in and begin the search for his forever family. Bowzer did have a Meet and Greet with a potential forever family. While they loved Bowzer they felt that their perfect match was another NBBR Bulldog.  This was sad news for Bowzer, but he had a fantastic foster family to help him through his sad time.

Don’t let the resting B face (Bulldog Face) that Bowzer has, fool you. He may look mean but he is so sweet that he worked his charm on his fantastic foster family.  While they were a seasoned foster family and have had several fosters, they were no match for his charming ways.  So much so, that after being with them for a long period and forming a very strong bond, it was decided that Bowzer needed to stay.  Bowzer hit the jackpot with his new family. He now has a forever Mom, Dad, two  sisters and a brother.  While the bond that was formed was with the entire family it is especially strong between Bowzer and his new forever Dad.  Bowzer loves the special attention he gets from his dad. They go outside together and lounge in the backyard chairs. They both go to bed at the same time, and they both may or may not have a snoring problem. So much so that mom can never tell which one is snoring (and it’s usually both!!!). Speaking of this bond, it was decided that there was only room for Bowzer and Dad in the adoption picture (not really but Mom was relegated to the role of photographer).  Everyone loves Bowzer, but the bond he and his dad have is special. Don’t tell the other dogs but he might be his favorite. Congratulations to Bowzer and the entire family.   Welcome to your happily ever after Mr. B

10/21/2019 Update:

Bowzer asked us to pass along a few things about him. First and most important is that I am a lover not a fighter. I may look like a tough guy, but looks can be deceiving! RBF stands for Resting Bowzer Face. Just look at this picture of me sitting nicely in the chair waiting for grandma to share her fries! I tried to intimidate her, but she is on to me. She knows I am a good boy. I want my belly rubbed, I play like a goof ball, get along with dogs and kids, and man can I give out the kisses. That is one reason it was hard for my first family to surrender me. They had big changes in their life and I was kept in a crate A LOT. They felt really bad about it, especially since I am such a great dog. But they decided that because I am soooo good they I needed to have a chance at my very own family. I don’t have accidents in the house, I love to ride in the car. I love EVERYONE! I am a healthy, happy loving guy that may look like a tough guy, but underneath this rough and rugged mask I am a gentle soul. I hope my forever family sees this and fills out an application to bring home!

7/9/2019 Update:

Hey been a while! I’ve just been settling in to my new foster fam. My favorite things are sleeping, eating, more sleeping, snacks. Me and my fsisters get along great. I’ve taken over my big sisters bed in fmom room and she seems to be ok with it. When I know she isn’t on it anymore I run as fast as I can to claim it. I like my short outside time. With the rain it’s been cool enough for me to sun bathe a bit. Things I hate are yard work. I do NOT like the mower or weedeater. I will bark and try to protect my people from being eaten by them. But I am scared of the broom and vacuum. Priorities I guess. Til next time. Bowzer

5/6/2019 Update:

Been a while since check in I’ve been settling in. I’m an excellent house guest. I get along wonderful with everyone human and fur babies. No accidents ever. I’m not a big morning person, maybe I’ll get up and eat or maybe I’ll save it for later. The vacuum scares me but not thunder. I think storms are perfect sleeping weather. Really any weather is good sleeping weather. I LOVE to be outside. I lounge on the deck or on the porch on the cool tile. I get excited when I meet people and my butt wiggles so much I can’t walk straight. If you pet me you can expect me to roll directly on my back so you can get to my belly.

Wiggles and slobbers,
Bowzer

4/15/2019 Update:

Let me introduce myself. My name is Bowzer. I look real tough and cranky but looks are decieving. I’m actually a great guy. I LOVE to be outside. My FFAM has this back yard and I absolutely love to be roaming it. When I’m not roaming it I’m usually napping in my dog bed. My ffam has beds all over the place for me and my new foster sisters. Me and my fsisters get along well. We all just follow and each other around in the back yard. They pee, I pee, I pee, they pee. We all apparently think it’s our place. So we spend alot of time going around in a big circle in the backyard. One of my fsisters wants to play with me but I’m not quite ready. I do start to run with them but then decide maybe not. I’m very well behaved. I haven’t met anyone I don’t like yet. Some guy came to fix my boys tv and I just rolled right on to my back so he could rub my belly. Fmom asked how am I gonna protect her if I’m always just rolling on my back for belly rubs from strangers? I figure if they want to pet me they must be nice and if they stop I will lick them all over. Me and my new ffam are still learning about each other but so far I have been an excellent house guest. Until next week.  Bowzer

4/9/2019 Update:

Please welcome Bowzer to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.  Bowzer is a 5 year old male English Bulldog that weighs 52 lbs.

Bowzer joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender.   Bowzer was adopted by his previous family from a friend that could not take proper care of him.   Everything was going well until recently when his family underwent some major changes.  These changes not only affected Bowzer’s family, they affected him as well.  Bowzer was being crated for many, many hours at a time.   After trying to find a better alternative for Bowzer with no luck, his family contacted NBBR to see if we would take him and find him a forever home.

The first stop for Mr. B was the clinic to see if there were any major medical issues.  Bowzer had not been to the vet in several years but was very healthy and only had a minor issues.  Bowzer tested negative for Heartworm which was a HUGE relief.  He did have an ear infection but that will be cleared up in no time with a course of antibiotics.  We also brought all of his vaccines up to date and gave him a microchip.

The first thing you notice when you meet Bowzer is that he seems very intimidating. He greats you with an intense look in his eyes that make you think he is not to be messed with.   Boy can looks be deceiving.  Bowzer has the BEST personality and he loves everyone.   When our volunteer meet Bowzer’s family to pick him up and got the “stink eye” from Bowzer, he wasn’t sure how the ride to DFW would go.  Bowzer jumped right in the car and not only was the ride a great one, Bowzer thought he needed to kiss the chauffer for the first 20 minutes of the ride.  After the kissing stopped, Bowzer calmed down and was a perfect gentleman on the ride to the vet.  Bowzer, again, was a complete gentleman when he rode to meet his foster family. As one of the ladies at the vet’s office said, “he may have resting B face, but he is sooooo sweet”. We think the “resting B face” may be due to his large underbite and the fact that he has a dark mask making him look grumpy.  Bowzer has a beautiful brindle coat that makes him truly unique.  Bowzer is currently with his foster family were he is settling in and learning the ropes as the “new kid”. Stay tuned as we learn more about Mr. B and he begins the next chapter of his life and his search for a forever family.
