3/14/2020 Update:

Bruno was ADOPTED!!!!!  We are so HAPPY to announce that Bruno has found his forever home.

Bruno joined NBBR as a family surrender as they were filing for divorce and unable to keep Bruno as part of the family. Bruno is a mild-mannered, easy going guy, weighing in at a full 89 lbs! Bruno has never met a stranger and loves riding in the truck and going to Lowe’s and Home Depot. As usual with bulldogs, Bruno has a very deep tail pocket that requires tedious cleaning daily to avoid severe fungal infections. He has developed a routine with his foster parents for his daily cleaning and handles it beautifully.

Bruno will be a welcomed addition to his forever home. He will have a fur brother, Norman, AND a fur sister, Maggie, – Both English Bulldogs, two adult human brothers and a new furever Mom & Dad.

Congratulations to Bruno and his new Furever Family~!! We know that he will be one spoiled “little” guy and loved beyond measure.

7/12/2019 Update:

Please welcome Bruno to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.  Bruno is a 6.5 year old male English Bulldog that weighs 89 lbs.

Bruno joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender.  The past few months have been very stressful for Mr. Bruno.  He (like many of our Bulldogs) are a victim of the Big D, no not Dallas, but divorce.  Bruno was a Daddy’s boy, but when his Dad and Mom divorced, he had to stay with his Mom.  Shortly after that, the family decided to sell their house and couldn’t take Bruno with them. So, they called No Borders Bulldog Rescue and asked if we could help them by taking Bruno and finding him a new forever home.

After all the details were arranged, Bruno’s family met a NBBR volunteer to surrender Bruno. This was a very difficult decision for them. Once Bruno was officially the newest member of our Rescue family, he made a quick stop at the vet to get a quick check up and have any medical issues addressed. It was apparent that Bruno was loved and well cared for.  He did have one small issue, he has what looks like the beginning of an ear infection, nothing that can’t be remedied and pretty common with Bulldogs. Bruno also has reoccurring bouts of seasonal flank alopecia, he has a patch of fur on his side that is not there.  We hope this will grow back, the fur usually does grow back but occasionally it doesn’t. Other than that, all news was good. Bruno is heartworm negative and only needed to be brought up to date on his vaccinations (they were due soon anyway).

Now for the fun part,  when you meet Bruno the first comment usually goes something like this  “Good Lord, that Bulldog is HUGE” or everyone starts rubbing their eyes to make sure they are seeing correctly.  Yes,  Bruno weighs 89lbs.  Bruno prefers to use the term “big boned” (which he is). When you hear of an 89lb Bulldog you might think morbid obesity, Bruno could lose a few pounds but he is a victim of breeding AND an older slower metabolism.   Bruno has been screened for all the diseases that would typically cause excess weight gain and he is healthy as a horse (and the size of a small one). Now that we have the “size” thing out of the way, Bruno’s weight is not the only thing that is BIG about him, pound for pound his personality is equally as big.  Bruno is full of joy.  He loves to play, he gets along well with everyone he meets (humans and dog test so far).  Everything he does he does with gusto and for his age and size, he can hang with the best of them.   Bruno made a quick appearance at the Barks & Bike event and quickly had the crowd eating out of his paw.  This was a very stressful weekend for Mr. Bruno but he showed nothing but what a true southern gentleman he is.   Stay tuned as Mr. Bruno starts the next chapter in his journey-to find his forever family.
