1/2/2024 Update:

Choji was ADOPTED!!!!!  It is with great pleasure we announce that Choji has found his forever home.

Choji joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender. Choji was a well care for and very loved little guy. But unfortunately, the family encountered some major changes that made it impossible for them to keep Choji. While they couldn’t keep him, they still wanted the best possible life for him.  They contacted NBBR and asked if we could help in finding him a forever home.   At that exact moment we were completely full and didn’t have a foster home available.  However, we had just completed a home visit for a potential adopter, and they had mentioned that they might be interested in fostering as well.   A quick call was made, and we went from completely full to completely full plus one (Choji). This is why the Foster to Adopt program is so important in helping save more bulldogs.

While Choji was a little shy when he first came to NBBR, he was definitely full of personality.  He is a typical bulldog “puppy”.  Even though he is 2 years old, he still has a lot of energy, especially when there are female dogs around. Choji begun a crash course in manners (he likes to jump on people to get their attention) to help him with his new social life.  While some think this is cute, not everyone does, and it can scare the little ones in the crowd.  So, Choji had agreed he will do his best NOT to continue this.  Previous to joining NBBR, Choji stayed with a pet sitter because of his family situation.  Choji’s foster/forever family has been working very hard with him working on his manners and he is making great strides.  Currently he is the only pup in the house which he enjoys. Choji hit the jackpot with his new parents. Not many people carry a diaper bad for their dog. His parents claim it is a backpack, but trust us it is a diaper bag, complete with snacks, baby wipes to clean up etc.  It is a match made in heaven.  Congratulations to the entire family.

11/29/2023 Update:

He’s enjoying the holidays! He’s likes to look at the Christmas tree and lounge on the Christmas pillows. He will get the zoomies out of nowhere and run throughout the apartment at full speed. He’s very smart and always remembers where his treats are but will stare you down until you give him one HAHA. He will sit at the door when he needs to be taken out.

10/25/2023 Update:

Choji has recovered from his neuter just fine and already back to being the biggest goofball there is. He had a UTI but after taking all of his medication he seems to be doing better. We have been working very hard with Choji to teach him not to jump on people since it can be dangerous to others due to his size and we are happy to say that he has improved tremendously! Choji will get really excited around people but will sit instead of jump now! He still has some work to do to keep the progress consistent, but he has already come so far!

Choji’s ideal day looks like sleeping all day and giving him cuddles and forehead kisses while he looks out the window watching all the people walk by. He is a sucker for late night treats but not too late because he keeps to a bedtime and tends to get an attitude when you’re not in bed with him LOL

Choji had a big weekend this past week at Sue Ellen’s and this was a pretty exciting day for choji to see how he interacts with other male dogs. He was very friendly with Oscar, Zion and Sarge.  He can get VERY excited seeing other dogs that he comes off intimidating to other dogs and often scares them however he was very gentle with our new friends! Choji can get a little jealous if you’re playing with another dog because he wants all the love but he will usually put his paw on your arm or legs to ask for affection while also giving you the biggest puppy eyes you have ever seen!!

That’s all we have for Choji right now but stay tuned for more updates on our cuddle bug!!

10/11/2023 Update:

Choji went to the vet today to be neutered and he’s had such a long day. He came home and immediately wanted to play with his favorite ball which he unfortunately will have to wait until the cone comes off to play (i think it’s safe to say he knows where it’s kept)! He is learning to drink water with the cone on and did eventually figure it out after a few tries but he’s home resting and recovering with some TLC ❤️

9/25/2023 Update:

Choji has made himself at home and is now 100% comfortable! We are trying to find toys that he won’t go through in a few hours which has been a little bit tough because he naps hard but plays harder lol!! We are working on choji remaining calm and not jumping on us when we come inside the house which is showing slow progress. He loves to sleep on us while we’re on the couch and snores like an old man 😂 he has put on so much weight since being with us and you can see he’s starting to fill out his rolls! We are still feeding his 3 cups a day with 2 tablespoons of salmon oil to keep his coat soft! He also LOVESSSS baths! He tries to get into the shower if he hears the water turn on

9/16/2023 Update:

Hello, choji is amazing and has put on a bit of weight! He seems to be really happy and has shown us that he is getting more comfortable. He has been very playful with other adults and he was introduced to another male dog for a few minutes which seemed to go well.

9/14/2023 Update:

Please welcome Choji (Sho-gee) to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.  Choji is a 2 year-old male chocolate merle English Bulldog that weighs 45 lbs.

Choji joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender.   Choji was a well care for and very loved little guy. But unfortunately, the family encounter some major changes that made it impossible for them to keep Choji.   While they couldn’t keep him, they still wanted the best possible life for him.  The contacted NBBR and asked if we could help in finding him a forever home.   At that exact moment we were completely full and didn’t have a foster home available.  However, we had just completed a home visit for a potential adopter, and they had mentioned that they might be interested in fostering as well.   A quick call was made, and we went from completely full to completely full plus one (Choji).

Like all new family members, Choji’s first stop was the vet to bring him up to date on vaccines, schedule a time to get neutered, and determine if anything else might be necessary. Choji got a clean bill of health.  Due to a surgery back up at the clinic, Choji will have to wait for his neuter, but it has been scheduled.  Once completed with Dr. H and his staff, Choji was released to the comforts of his new foster home.

Choji can be a little shy when he first meets someone new, but rest assured it doesn’t take long before he is your best bud.  He is a typical bulldog “puppy”.  Even though he is 2 years old, he still has a lot of energy, especially when there are female dogs around.  Once he is neutered that should give the lady bulldogs around him a little rest. Choji has begun to crash course in manners (he likes to jump on people to get their attention).  While some think this is cute, not everyone does, and it can scare the little ones in the crowd.  So, Choji has agreed he will do his best NOT to continue this.  Previous to joining NBBR Choji stayed with a pet sitter because of his family situation.   The pet sitter sent a list of “instructions” for Choji. The instructions will be very helpful in working with him.   One area that Choji needs to work is to realize that nail trims are not a bad thing.   Slow gradual work with him by playing with his paws and some treats should help.   Currently Mr. C is chilaxin at his foster home and living his best life (did we mention his foster family is already spoiling him rotten? well they are).  Stay tuned for weekly updates as we learn more about Choji and his progress in finding his forever home.
