5/31/2026 Update:

Cookie has been ADOPTED!!!!  We are so excited that we can announce yet another Foster to Adopt success story (not that there was ever a doubt.)

Cookie joined the NBBR family by way of a Good Samaritan.  At one time Cookie had a family.   When that family moved from their rental property a neighbor noticed that Cookie was still in the backyard.   The GS contacted the property owner and asked what was going on.  The owner told the GS that the new tenant had agreed to take Cookie and was going to move in “shortly”.  In the meantime, the GS made sure that Cookie was fed and watered.   Fast forward a week and the GS again asked the property owner for an update on Cookie’s new owner and when they would be moving into the house.  The owner stated that the new tenant had backed out and they did not want Cookie.  The property owner stated that the GS could have Cookie and if not, they would be taking her to the shelter.   The GS did not want that to happen so it was decided that Cookie would come to live with them.  The GS house was already a full one (5 dogs and two humans to be exact), but they were committed to making it work.  HOWEVER, while the humans were committed to making things work, two of the dogs decided that 5 dogs in the household were enough and would continuously pick fights with Cookie.  While Cookie is a sweetheart, she is no pushover and she had no intention of being bullied and she defended herself.  This went on for a while until the family decided it would be best to see if they could find Cookie a more suitable, less chaotic living situation.  They called NBBR and we did have a potential family for Cookie.  There was one catch, they family we had in mind wanted to adopt not foster (enter the Foster to Adopt program).  The NBBR volunteers and the family had several lengthy calls to discuss the F.T.A program and they decided that would work for them. So…. as they say the rest is history and Cookie joined NBBR as its newest member. Cookie made a quick stop to the vet, and we got mixed news on Ms. C. She arrived with zero vet history, so she got the complete workup.  We did know that over the course of her journey, Cookie had been living outside almost extensively for several months.  So, it wasn’t a shock when the vet said that she was Heartworm positive.  In addition to the Heartworm diagnosis, she had a minor skin condition that would need to be treated.   The good news was that she was free of GI parasites/worms and was a healthy weight.  Cookie navigated her medical treatments like a champ, and she is now up to date on vaccines, spayed AND heartworm NEGATIVE.

It was love at sight for both Cookie and her Foster (now permanent) Dad.  However, there were some training issues that needed to be addressed: Cookie’s Dad needed some remedial training to get him up to speed and able to meet Cookie’s strict standards.   The good news is that Dad passed his training program with flying colors and Cookie gave the paws up to making her member of the family.   Cookie is selective on which dogs she likes, so that fact that she is the only princess in the house makes things easy and perfect for her.  She and her dad do everything together, you might say that they are inseparable.  There is lots of cuddle time, tv watching, snacks and walks thrown in for good measure.   Cooks loves to ride in the car and visit local establishments to meet her adoring public.   She has gone from one family’s unwanted burden to someone else’s center of their world.  And this is exactly what Cookie deserved all along.  Congratulations are in order for Cookie and her dad.

Please welcome Cookie to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.  Cookie is a 6-year-old female English Bulldog that weighs 64 lbs.

Cookie is a very sweet girl that despite her previous “issues” with humans, she has nothing but love for everyone and wants to be with you every single minute she can.  Cookie walks well on a lease and loves road trips.  She has done very well on the occassions that she has been in the car and loves to look out the window and see the scenery.   Cookie has transitioned well to her foster to adopt family AND word is that she “almost” has them trained to her satisfaction.  Stay tuned for more updates on Ms. C and her journey to become the princess that she was always meant to be.
