4/28/2018 Update:

Daisy Mae was ADOPTED!!!! We are so happy to announce Daisy Mae has found her forever family and her happy ever after.

Daisy Mae joined NBBR from a local shelter.  Her previous owners left her at the shelter due to submissive urination when told to go to her crate.  Daisy Mae was surrendered several months ago and the shelter staff felt she needed the stability of a Rescue with a foster home instead of the noise and confusion of a shelter.  One of our volunteers went to evaluate Daisy Mae’s temperament and she was soon riding shotgun on the way to her foster home.

Daisy Mae hit the jackpot with her forever family. Like many families with NBBR, they started their journey to find a Bulldog long before they read about Daisy Mae.  But in true NBBR fashion their paths crossed at an event and they knew Daisy was the one.  But before the contracts were signed, we needed to make sure she would mesh well with her future canine siblings.  During the Meet and Greet, Daisy and one foster sibling hit it off famously. The other gave her a good review and then didn’t seemed too impressed (the exact reaction everyone thought would happen). In addition to her forever canine brother and sister Daisy now has a human sibling and a forever Mom that will spoil her beyond belief. Congratulations to the entire family.

4/23/2018 Update:

Daisy had a great time at Addison Ice House! She played with anybully that would play with her! Before and after pictures attached…she was worn out after the event.

Sweet Daisy Mae loves to play and wrestle with other dogs. She has the sweetest personality and has never met a stranger, human or dog! She knows one of her foster sisters is rather grumpy so she will avoid her. She is doing great in her foster home and is very well behaved. We had a few accidents but they were by the door (the doggie door she is still afraid to go thru) so she is catching on.  She loves to go on walks and greet everyone in her neighborhood. She loves car rides too and watches everything around her.
She had a very successful meet and greet this weekend as well. This young lady will adapt to anywhere she goes!

4/15/2018 Update:  Sweet Daisy Mae is getting more comfortable every day. She is such a sweet and loving girl! She is still a little skittish sometimes but has made great progress.

She has really taken to one family member and has become quite comfortable taking over her bed. Daisy loves to sleep with her and has to be touching her at night.
She is very playful but has not quite figured out she is supposed to bring the toy back to us. She will bat and chase a ball all over the house and flip up and chase her soft toys. She does this funny cute little hop when chasing toys. Shes still a bit puppy and will grab a shoe if given the opportunity. As soon as we tell her no she will drop it.
She had a couple accidents in the house this week, but is doing really good going to the door to go out. She won’t bark but she will run in front of us to the door to let us know.
Daisy is a great dog. She is very sweet, smart and eager to please.

4/9/2018 Update:

Daisy had a great time at Paws on the Square last weekend.  She enjoyed meeting lots of new people and dogs and endured the cold weather very well.  She is typically shy and rather timid, but barely showed that at all at the event.  She was very good with the kids she met as well.
Daisy is such a sweet girl. She is coming out of her shell more each day. She has attached herself to her human foster sister and sticks by her side whenever she can.  Sometimes when she plays she does this funny high step-hop!  She really likes her soft toys, squeaky toys and ball, but is still not particularly interested in chew toys. We are working on not jumping up on people, but overall she is very well behaved.
She gets along great with her foster fur sister as well. She loves car rides and watches everything going on around her. Daisy would do well as an only dog or with other dogs.

4/4/2018 Update:  Ms. Daisy is such a sweet girl. She has laid claim to her human sister’s soft bed 🙂

Daisy loves soft toys and tennis balls. She also enjoys playing with her foster fur sister. So far she is not interested in benebone or chew toys.
Daisy was pretty nervous her first day here. She is still a bit skittish but is more trusting every day. We have had no problems with submissive wetting since her first day with us. She has had a few accidents in the house, but does very well when we are consistent taking her out. We have a doggie door but she has not mastered it yet.
Daisy takes a little time to get acclimated, but she is learning the ropes and coming out of her shell more every day.

3/26/2018 Update:  Please welcome Daisy Mae to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family.  Daisy Mae is a 16 month old Olde English Bulldog that weighs 46 lbs.

Daisy Mae joins the NBBR from a local shelter.  Her previous owners left her at the shelter due to submissive urination when told to go to her crate.  Daisy Mae was surrendered several months ago and the shelter staff felt that she needed the stability of a Rescue with a foster home instead of the noise and confusion of a shelter.  One of our volunteers went to evaluate Daisy Mae’s temperament and she was soon riding shotgun on the way to her foster home.

Daisy Mae has a couple of very distinct things.  On first glance you notice she is a little taller and lankier than most Bulldogs.  You will also notice that her tongue is always sticking out of her little mouth. Daisy Mae may have a little anxiety over this, since she was made fun of by the other dogs at the shelter. We think it is charming and combined with her bubbly personality, makes here a one in a million Bulldog.  It appears Daisy Mae got the last laugh as she got sprung from the shelter while all those other dogs who made fun of her with their pretty tongues are still there.  This may be just our imagination but it appeared Daisy Mae was sticking her tongue out at the other dogs when she left. Or maybe, as mentioned before, she is always sticking her tongue out.

Daisy Mae joined her foster family and seems to get along with almost everyone in the house. The one exception is her Bulldog foster sister (who is kind of a grump) – she was not the happiest of campers when Daisy Mae first arrived. Daisy Mae didn’t understand the fuss, so she just left little Miss Grumpypants alone to figure it out.  So far everything about Daisy Mae says complete sweetheart. Stay tuned for more updates as we learn more about Miss Daisy Mae and follow her on her journey to go from confused Bulldog puppy to confident family member.
