Purty Gertie here, just wanted to give you an update of what’s going on in my purty world! I’ve been enjoying all the trips around the neighborhood with my fur foster sister, Silly Millie.  I enjoy outdoor time, especially when I get to explore the neighborhood, & get to take in all the new smells🥰 🐾 

For those of you interested in setting up a meet & Gertie Greet, here are a few things on my must have list for my furever family…I need lots of love & attention! I want to be included in your life, I’ll even follow you to the bathroom if you let me😁 I like kids, but I also like to jump & give kisses, so probably 7 & older age kids are best. A cat free home, cause I don’t know any better, & think cats are for chasing😬. I’ve already made myself comfortable on the couch, & occasionally the bed, so if you have a “no fur babes on furniture” rule, this habit probably can’t be broke💜. Other than that, I’m an easy going gal, seeking a loving family that will dote on me, & tell me how purty I am🥰

Purty Gertie here, just checking in & bringing joy to your week, by posting purty pics of me, doing Gertie things. Hope y’all have a great & safe Memorial Day weekend 🇺🇸 I’m hoping the weather holds up so I can be outside & hang out with my fur sisters 🐾 I just love outdoor time🤗 There’s a dog that lives next door & his bark is so funny, foster mom says this dog is a beagle 🤔 He must sound different cause he has a larger nose than me. But I really like talking to him from the other side of the fence….he typically has a lot more to say than I do, but he’s still fun to talk to.  I’m pretty sure I’m fluent in beagle now 🐾 

Not sure if y’all have any fun summer plans, but if you do, I hope they include me! 🤗🐾🩷 I would love for someone to set up a meet & Gertie Greet. I’m looking for a family that will include me in daily activities. I have more energy than most bullies, so I’m always up for adventures, but when you’re ready for couch time, I’m your number 1 snuggle buddy. 🥰

Gess wat??? I at Frens house!

So here wat happen.  Foster mom acting weird all week and pull out dis box thing she put her clothes in.  I nervous cause I not know wat she doin.  Then she pack up some of my stuff and we go in de car.  Oh No! Wat happening! Then we get to Doctor place that smell like lots of dogs and weird stuff.  Next thing I know I in the metal cage thing and Foster Mom leave! Wat de heck! 

So I sleeps there for ever and ever (ok maybe only one night) and den the ladies walk me out and I sees a lady I pretty sure I know. Oh yea, I sees her every time we get together with the other bulldogs! Next thing I knows she puttin me in de car!  What going on? So we drives and den we at a house I never sees before.  Guess wat!!!??? Dey other dogs here and I knows them! It de dogs the lady always bring to the bulldog get togethers!  They not too sure why I at their house at first but we sniffs and pees and sniffs and pee and then they know it all ok. 

And guess wat else? They have lots of toys!  I love toys!! I still not to bottom of de bin but I am trying!  I like picking toys and tossing it around and shaking it and then biting it and then I go pick another one and start all over!

I makes sure I follow new lady every where she goes and shows her my face so she can give me rubs and scratches.  If she get up and walk I follow her to sees what she doin.  

Last night we all gets tired and lady lets me up in bed and we all sleeps together. It took me a few minutes to find spot of bed my new Frens not want but soon we all sleeping.  Next thing I know it morning and time to get up!  I so excited!! Time to eat!!! I loves my food so much!!!  Lady laugh and say I “inhale” my food.  Wat can I say? I is hungry! 

That night I gets to go in car again and we goes to another house! I gettin to go so many places! They’re another new fren there! She so excited to see me and runs around wit her huge ears flopping.  We watches a movie but I so tired from all de play that I curls up next to Lady and bury my nose next to her.  When we goes back to lady’s house I so tired and goes to sleep right away.  

I gets to stay a couple of days and den Lady takes me back to Doctor place and dey gives me my shots and pokes and feels me. Next thing I know day walks me out and my Foster Mom there!!! I so happy to see her!

Well, that’s my exciting week! Wat you doin??

Hi Freends!

Purty Gertie checking in to give all my followers, fun Gertie updates. 2 weeks ago, NBBR Alumni, Nelson came to stay with us for a few days, while his mom was on a work trip! We played from sun up to sun down, frolicking in the yard together & playing tug-a-war with my favorite rope toy. He definitely has more energy than my foster seesters! 

I also wanted to give y’all updated pics of my Purty Gertie face🥰 I hope they bring joy to your day….& if you’re looking for permanent joy, put in an application to make me furever yours💜🐾 I’m always up for playtime, but I especially love snuggles, which is a huge step for me, cause I use to be timid, especially around men. Hello Freends!!

Purty Gertie, here!  Hope y’all had an amazing weekend! The weather was beautiful  for our first NBBR event this year ☀️🐾💜

I had so much fun! I even got to meet the newest foster to NBBR. He was quite a handsome lad & he thought I was something special too! He kept kissing my face & saying how Purty I was🥰🐾 Maybe he will even ask me to be his girlfriend….I’ll keep y’all updated😉 🤞🏽

I also got loved on by a lot of humans. Aside from getting compliments on how cute I am, I also had a lot of people saying I’m so much smaller in person💜🐾 I guess my pictures look like my personality….larger than life🥰 but in reality I’m very pint sized! So if you happened to think I may be to large for your family, I’m actually quite small…smaller than your average bully🫶🏽 & I’m happy to report, I did very well with the small humans. I love to jump to show people my love, but I try to remember to be gentle with the little ones.  I just loved all the attention🤗

Hello NBBR Freends!

Purty Gertie here! 🐾💜 Just dropping in to give y’all an update. I survived that horrible ice storm, but man, I was going stir crazy! I enjoy my outdoor time & walks, & none of that was able to happen😞Luckily, the minute the ice melted, my foster parents were able to take me around the neighborhood. 

I’m so ready for spring, & getting to do more outdoor activities & get to attend more NBBR events 🤗  I feel once one of you meets me in person, you’ll want to make me furever yours🥰💜. Purty Gertie here, wanting to wish everyone a Happy New Year 🎊 Not sure if any of y’all made any resolutions, but if your resolution was to make a difference, you should really consider fostering….or adopting (pick me!! Wink, wink😉). Volunteering for a local animal rescue is such a rewarding experience….& you get to help pups in need…such as myself 🥰🐾🫶🏽💜. Trust me, dogs like us, don’t need or ask for much. We just want a loving home, playtime, meals, & an occasional treat. Another great thing about fostering, is that you don’t have to pay for the vet bills. All you are out of pocket for is food & toys! It’s such a great way to make a positive impact, & not drain your pocketbook….. aaaaaaand, You get unlimited love & snuggles from your foster pup🥰🐾 I have to say, from my personal experience, foster care is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Only thing that would be better, is for a loving family to make me furever theirs🥰

Hello Freends!

Purty Gertie here, just checking in. Not sure if y’all know, but foster mom said, “Santa Paws is coming to town🤗❤️ 🐾 ” Not totally sure who this “Paws” fella is, but apparently he has magical powers, comes down chimneys, & helps dreams come true!😮“

I hope he knows that I’m a good guard dog, & if he comes down the chimney, without notice, we may have issues! I love my foster family & I make sure to keep their house safe from intruders. Also, if he makes dreams come true, I’ve been dreaming of my furever family! 💤🥰 & I sure hope he brings us together this Christmas. All I can tell you is they are super kind, they love snuggles (which is good, cause I LOVE giving Gertie kisses), & they have been dreaming of meeting me too🥰💜🫶🏽🐾. Im hoping they see my post, & me in my Purty Christmas sweater, & ask for a Gertie Meet & Greet!🤩

Hello Bulldog Fam!

Purty Gertie here🐾 With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, I wanted to share what I am thankful for. I’m so very thankful for NBBR taking me in, so I didn’t end up on the streets or puppy jail (aka, the pound). I’m grateful to my foster fam, for giving me a loving home, with plenty of treats & toys. I’m thankful for my fur sisters…most of the time 😉🐾. I’m also glad I no longer have a fear of men. In fact I LOVE cuddling with foster dad. & also I’m super happy I got to meet foster grandmaw & grandpaw this past weekend! I loved all the free pets, lovins’ & snuggles 🥰 

Not sure if anyone has the winter blues, but I promise you’ll never feel sad when I’m around. I know how to make my hoomans feel loved! If you want to make my dreams come true, please look into a meet & Gertie greet, & get to know me better. If you have other fur children or kids, not a problem! Just bring them with you so I can meet them. I’m confident I can get along with Purty much anyone, but it’s always good to make sure we all click💜 Whelp, that’s it for now! Purty Gertie here, reporting for my check in! Hope y’all are having a relaxing Labor Day! I’m going to spend my day watching TV & hoping foster mom shares her popcorn with me 😋 I just love snacks….& eating in general. If you decide to make me furever yours, you’ll be able to see me do my dinner time happy dance 🤗 Did I mention how much I love food? 💜 It makes my bully belly dance with joy 🤩  🐾 I even know the word “gentle”, which means when you’re hand feeding me a snack, to nibble gently & not bite the hooman hand that is feeding me. I listen very well…..most of the time. 🐶  I still look out the window EVERY DAY to see if you’re coming for me yet! I promise when you see me, you’ll love me, as much as I already love you 🥰

Hello freeeeends!!!

Purty Gertie here, giving more updates on my summer! Lately it’s been a lot of indoor time. I prefer basking under the summer sun, but the grownups say it’s too hot for us to be outside for too long. They’ve also been talking about Fall & something called Halloween 🎃. Apparently on this thing called Halloween, you dress up & get treats! Other than snuggles, treats are my absolute favorite thing🥰, so I think I’ll like this Halloween thing.

Foster mom says she wants to dress me up as Scrappy-Doo….apparently I’m a spitting image of this fella🧐 But hoping I get adopted before Halloween & get to spend it with my furever family🥰 If you’re looking for a snuggle buddy that will give you unconditional love, I’m the pup for you!!! Purty Gertie here, wondering where the heck the weekend went🤯 Hope y’all have a good week & stay hydrated! Foster mom & dad told me outdoor shenanigans have to be limited due to the sun! I dunno who this sun guy is, but you’re ruining my outdoor fun & walks! ☹️ 🐾  So if anyone sees this “sun guy”, tell him Purty Gertie ain’t happy with him right now! Also the guy on TV said to stay indoors & hydrated, so I know it’s serious!

Hope y’all had a great weekend! I don’t know about y’all, but I’m wishing Texas would cool down a bit! Purty Gertie here, reporting for my weekly check in💜🐾 I had a wonderful & relaxing weekend. I even got to take an adventure to a place they call Home Depot. I was surrounded by so many wonderful smelling plants 🌱 🌺 & a ton of people. My favorite people to see were the humans that were close to the ground like me…Foster Mom & Dad called them “kids”….I guess that’s what fun, small, energetic humans are called🤷🏼‍♀️ I don’t have any of these humans living with me, so I was quite intrigued by these tiny people. They have lots of energy like me!!!🤗🐾 I also discovered a love for ice water. I like to bob for the ice cubes 🧊 in my water bowl like I’m bobbing for apples. It’s such a great refreshing treat in the hot spring sun. Speaking of fun treats….have you ever tried crane flies??? They are DELICIOUS 🤤 They’re like flying air treats. I went to the NBBR event at Funky Picnic Brewery, & met so many fun friends. All I ask is that you pamper me with love & attention. Hi friends! Purty Gertie with my weekly check in💜 🐾. Hope y’all didn’t freeze during the ice storm. Don’t know about you, but I’m personally a fan of sunshine☀️ I wish I had an indoor bathroom like FM & FD…I do NOT enjoy taking care of business in the snow.❄️ But when the sun came out on Sunday & melted most of the ice, I got to go on a walk around the neighborhood with foster sister, Silly Millie🐾. I’m super sweet & purty, so I just know I’m gonna find my furever home soon! I’m a great cuddler, LOVE couch time, but also love outdoor time & walks. Most of all, I just want to be included & loved 🥰

Please welcome Gertie to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.   Gertie is an approximately one and half year-old female Olde English Bulldog that weighs 36 lbs. 

Gertie joins the No Borders Bulldog Rescue as an owner surrender.   While Gert is only a year and half old, the last few months have not been the best for her.   Gertie was initially found as a stray by a bulldog breeder, and they were sure she had been dumped and thought she was pregnant.   Due to the fact that she was possibly pregnant they decided that they would keep her (and sell the puppies).   Well, when the breeder found out that Gertie wasn’t pregnant, they no longer wanted her and dumped her at a vet’s office.  The office staff didn’t want Gertie to be euthanized so they started the process of finding a forever home for her.   They contacted a family that currently had a Frenchie and asked if they would be interested in expanding their family.  They were definitely interested and took Gertie in as their newest family member.  The family got her spayed, got her vaccinated and began her heartworm preventative.   They took Gertie home and began introductions to the resident Frenchie.   While the family’s intentions were to expand their family by one, the Frenchie had other plans.  It was a resounding “no thank you” from the Frenchie.  Things started off bad and got progressively worse, so bad that it escalated to attacks on Gertie for no reason.  Worried for the safety of both pups (especially Gertie) they contacted NBBR and asked if we would take Gertie and help find her a new better suited forever home. 

Gertie’s first stop was the clinic to do a quick physical exam to ensure that there was nothing needed before she headed to her foster home.  Due to scheduling Gertie had to spend the night at the clinic.    While Gertie is a true sweetheart to everyone she meets, she is timid at first and appears to have a sweet spot for women vs. men.   This isn’t to say that she doesn’t like the guys, but she is slower to warm up to the men.   This probably means that sometime in her life she has had a less than great experience with a man and has built up a wall where she is very cautious until that particular guy passes “the trust test”. Once that happens, its ON, kisses, butt wiggle for everyone.   While Gertie was only at the clinic a short time, she worked her magic, and EVERYONE was gushing how sweet and how much they loved her.  Once over the initial introductions and Gert feels comfortable with you, she is a lover AND a hugger.  When she greets you, she wants to jump up and wrap her legs around you to greet you.   If you are on her level, you will also get a big sloppy kiss.  Gertie also has a very cute “frog squat” when she sits at your feet.  It is hard to describe but think of how a frog’s butt looks like and that is how Gertie’s back legs are positioned.   Nothing wrong with her or her legs but she sits like this when trying to get your attention.  Gertie joined her foster family and will be settling in.  Do you have room on your couch for a cuddle buddy? Do you have extra love to give?  Are you willing to give Gertie the stability she deserves? All in all, it boils down to that Gertie is a sweet little girl that needs and craves love, stability and a dedicated forever family.
