4/27/2017 Update:

Gracie was ADOPTED!!! It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce that Gracie has found her perfect forever family.

Gracie joined the NBBR family approximately two and a half months ago. Gracie and her two siblings came from a “hobby” breeder situation.  The family bred their male and female Bulldog to sell the puppies to friends and family members. They were only expecting 3-4 puppies but had 8. They were able to sell 5 of the puppies but were left with 3 remaining.  Initially they planned on keeping them, but due to the chaos of having more than 7 dogs in one house they decided to get rid of the three “puppies”.   Good Samaritans worked with the breeder to get the dogs and then surrendered them to rescue.

Gracie had severe cherry eye when see arrived and was very timid. Gracie  cringed in fear when there were loud noises or fast movements around her.  Gracie’s foster family worked to assure her she was safe and humans were good. Slowly but surely Gracie began to trust again and has blossomed into the loving Bulldog she is meant to be. She can still be a little skittish when exposed to new situations and new people, but quickly warms up and shows her happy go lucky personality.

Gracie’s new forever family fell in love with her instantly and were excited to add another Bulldog to their family. Gracie now has a devoted set of parents AND an older Bulldog sister that she loves. Gracie will be showered with love, kisses and everything that a Bulldog puppy could ever need or want.  Congratulations to Gracie and her entire family.

4/4/2017 Update:  Gracie is doing Okay.  I think she is still a little confused about where her foster sister went because she often still goes to the  condo(kennel) and looks to see if she is laying in there.  Also, the  last few days she and Baby Girl have been pretty good buddies and The both of them have been in going into the room by the Condo and  laying  close by to see if she has come back.   Sometimes I do the same thing. It’s great that Gracie and her are becoming buddies, BG and her been sitting and laying on the little bed that nobody ever sat on till now. It Always has been there but seldom did either use it but now they both seem to like it.

Gracie still has some ways to go for fully trusting people. One day she will go up to Someone to Check them out and say “hey” Then the next day she act is if she never seen them. Another quirk is, if you go out one door then that’s the door you have to go back in. Can’t go out the front door at the building and come back in the back. She doesn’t like variances in her outings!   Once she has done her business she is ready to go back inside, she doesn’t like to take walks afterwards. She loves her little football 🏈 we play with inside though, she goes crazy when she see me get out. She runs so fast after it, it is almost unbelievable how fast she goes.  She likes for me to chase her once she gets it in her mouth, so we do that till we tire out.

3/20/2017 Update: She is great. She figured out how to get on the couch and now thinks that’s her spot.

3/14/2017 Update:  She is doing Good!! She went to work with her foster Mom and Baby Girl (foster sister) and everybody loves her that came into the spa. She didn’t love them so much but she didn’t full on run away!

Gracie is really sweet and Loving with us and kinda is becoming Baby G’s buddy on occasion but she really rather be with her foster humans.  She does like to try and take the treats from BG and Mdayz when they still have part of the treat sticking out of their mouth.lol  And she usually still has hers in her mouth.

3/6/2017 Update: She is doing fine.  Loves car rides and playing hall ball with her foster sisters.  Even though she runs fast and past the ball, she gets excited when she hears ” hall ball!”

Loves treats but she poops a lot, 4-5 times a day and she only eats 2 times a day! lol

Still very skittish  around people with bags, boxes or dry cleaning in their hands when we ride the elevator. And she loves to try and look over the couch back instead of going around the low sides.

2/21/2017 Update: She is doing ok!  She is still a little skiddish around people and even me at times. Trying to get her better on the leash but she wants to pull hard and yank. She does good going out to bathroom but once she is done she wants to BLine it back to the  elevator / apartment. I Got a harness last week and trying that out and it’s helping slow her down a bit but she still likes to get back inside.

Starting to learn how to sit but not good on staying. If I move she moves !  When she gets startled she wants me to pick her up or  she get between my legs for safety.

2/13/2017 Update: Gracie  is doing fine,   She follows me from room to room or watches my every move in the house.  For some reason hasn’t quite taken to her foster Mom as much as me. Lol. She really hasn’t taken to any toys per say, till this morning she had one little stuffed animal and carried it around for little bit.  She can open the door if it’s not fully shut all way and let herself into the hallway if she wants. Usually I’m just going to the trash chute but she thinks she needs to go with me.

Walking on leash she is good going out and doesn’t pull or jerk me but after she is done with he business she yanks to go back inside.  Getting better around other people and dogs that live in the building.

2/2/2017 Update:  Please welcome Gracie to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family.

Gracie is a 10 month old female English Bulldog that weighs 40 lbs.  Gracie and her brother and sister joined the NBBR family yesterday from a “hobby” breeder situation.

It appears Gracie and her siblings have had a very rough first 10 months of their life. As you can see from the pictures she has a HORRIBLE case of cherry eye.  All three of the siblings have the same eye conditions. Due to the condition of her eyes she currently does not see well. Gracie is very timid and appears to have been physically abused. Gracie cringes in fear when there are loud noises or fast movements around her.  The good news is she has a very sweet personality and just needs time to learn to trust humans again.  She responds very well to calm, soft tones.

Gracie is scheduled to have surgery for her cherry eye condition early next week. Based on what looks like months of neglect she will most likely be on eye drops the remainder of his life.

Gracie is resting at her new foster home where she is adjusting well.  Her new family is giving her plenty of rest and a nice calm environment for her to heal both physically and mentally. She is adjusting to the life of a budding princess.  One of her new found likes is riding in the wagon that her foster parents put her in to take her outside.  She has two new foster sisters (fur) that she is getting along with well. Gracie does tend to want to spend time alone in her den currently, but we are sure once she feels comfortable, the puppy personality will surface. This little girl has just begun on her road to complete recovery and, while we are sure she will be an amazing addition to someone’s forever family, it is going to take a lot of TLC and patience to get her to associate humans with love and not abuse. Please keep Gracie and her siblings in your thoughts and prayers as they begin to heal.
