10/9/2022 Update:

Hank has been ADOPTED!!!  It is with great pleasure to announce that Hank has found his happily ever after.

Hank joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender.   Hank was purchased at a local pet store by a young couple.  After a short time, it was determined that having a puppy was too stressful due to health reasons. The young couple made the VERY difficult decision that it was in the best interest of everyone if Hank would be able to find a new forever home.  Hank joined with minimal medical needs.  He needed to be neutered and had an ear infection that required attention. Both were addressed and Hank joined his foster home for a little R&R and TLC.

Strange things happen when Bulldogs enter Rescue. Hank was an emergency project (and like usual, NBBR did not have a foster home for him).  So, our Foster Coordinator started to scramble.   Making a call to a newly previous adopter to “pitch the cause”.  While they had thought about fostering, it was not on anyone’s immediate plans… but they listened.   Long story short, well you can figure that part out.   They said yes, but were hoping it would be a short fostering situation. While they were hoping for a short stint, Hank and his foster brother (Tank) had other ideas. When they originally met it was an instant connection.  They played. Tank showed Hank the ropes. Tank explained the rules and what was acceptable (house training) and wasn’t (running out the front door when opened). Slowly, the dynamic duo bonded even more.  Tank had already claimed “human” in the house. So, it was time for Hank to set his sights “his” human.  And that is what he did.  It took a little while for Hank to work his charms but he did it.  After a little while we received a call to determine if they could make it official.   We decided to take things slow to make sure that everyone was on the same page and that the decision was a forever one.    Never say never, because you never know what will happen while participating in Rescue.  And NEVER underestimate the power of a Bulldogs love.   Thank you for taking our call that day and listening to the pitch… we couldn’t do it without you. Congratulations to Hank, Tank and the entire family.

3/27/2022 Update:

Hank has settled in quite well.  He is 100% puppy and has a lot of energy and so much love to give, he is very loving.  He came to his foster family and immediately got along and plays well with his foster (frenchie) brother, even though there is the occasional stealing of toys. His foster brother is gladly showing him the ropes and he is learning lots of good behaviors.

He does love his toys including balls and nylon chews, he carries them around proudly when he is not playing them.  He is advancing very well on his potty training and has not had any accidents in the house after the first few days and knows he is suppose to go outside. He like sleeping in his bed next to the foster dad’s bed and prefers to lay in his bed in living area during the day and occasionally get up on sofa or share a chair and some loving with foster parents. Hank does not meet any strangers and if you let him he will lick you face off, we are working on jumping up when he meets people. He does love to snuggle up next to everyone, but is adjusting to trying to remain still and not let all the puppy to come out.

As far as eating, he loves his treats, mostly softer for some reason, but does not do well with hard food.  After MANY combinations being tried he really laps up the Fresh Pet Chicken and Vegetables!  He doesn’t bother humans while they are eating or does not beg for human food.

Playing outside is his favorite and he is learning about being on a leash quite well.  He runs around like a gazelle jumping and enjoying running outside chasing a ball or just exercising. Peering through the fence to talk to his neighbor dogs is a favorite of his also.

After a hectic few weeks to begin, Hank has settled in really well and looking for that forever home.

3/16/2022 Update:

Please welcome Hank to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.  Hank is an 8-month-old male French Bulldog that weighs 28 lbs.

Hank joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender.   Hank was purchased at a local pet store by a young couple.  The initial intent was that Tank would help to provide emotional support for his new mom that had health issues. The added stress and worries associated with having a new pet, actually caused his new Mom’s health issues to worsen. The young couple made the VERY difficult decision that it was in the best interest of everyone if Hank would be able to find a new forever home.  This decision was made out of love for Hank and them only wanting the best life for him, something they knew they couldn’t currently provide.  Even with that in mind it was a tough surrender as the tears were flowing.

After his surrendering, Hank’s first stop was to the clinic to get a complete exam and work-up.   Tank got a clean bill of health with the exception of a small ear infection. No biggie, the infection NOT his ears.  Hank’s infection will be quickly taken care of with an antibiotic ear flush.  As you can see, he is all ears, they tend to “catch” things floating around him, oh the joys of Frenchies and their adorable ears. Other than that, Mr. Hank got a clean bill of health.   All vaccinations were up to date, Heartworm negative, and fecal negative.   The only thing that needed to be scheduled was his neuter.  Hank aced the neuter with flying colors and was ready to head to his foster family.

Hank has had a very hectic couple of weeks.  He went from the pet store to his previous family, and then to Rescue, so to say he is a little confused is an understatement. Hank is all PUPPY. He can be a little timid and scares easily in unfamiliar situations.     But in true puppy fashion he warms up very quickly and doesn’t appear to have EVER met a stranger.   During the car ride to meet his foster family he did settle down eventually (there was A LOT of things for him to explore so the emphasis is definitely on eventually).  After settling in, the car ride went very well.  Some time was spent looking out the window, then some chew toy time, some volunteer kissing and finally a very brief nap.   Also in puppy fashion, Hank will be working on his leash manners.  Currently he has no idea what to do on a leash, initially he will just lay flat on the ground. Once you get him moving, he walks pretty well unitil some new startles him and then it is back to flat on the ground.  Hank is also needing some consistency on his potty training. Hank is a smart little guy, and we have no doubt that he learns all the necessary house manners to make him the perfect gentleman.   Combine his rugged good looks, charm AND manners:  He will definitely be a triple threat that NO ONE will be able to resist.  Currently Hank is chillin’ with his foster family and getting settled.   He has met his foster brother (a Frenchie), and all is going well.    Stay tuned as we learn more about Hank and what makes him tick.   We will then use this information to find Hank the forever family that is perfectly suited for him.
