9/26/2021 Update:

Luka was ADOPTED!!!!  We are beyond excited to announce that Luka has found his forever family.

Luka joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender. From the information we received, Luka had a bumpy beginning to his short life.  Prior to joining NBBR, Luka was given to a family and after a week, they decided that a second dog was too much responsibility to take on.  They contacted NBBR to help Luka find a new home.   Prior arriving with this family, it appears that Luka may have been part of a breeding program, but for some reason he wasn’t wanted.  They attempted to sell him to the family and when that didn’t work they just gave him away.  Luka arrived to NBBR in very good shape.  No apparent or blatant health issues or infections. While he was an owner surrender, he arrived with no vet records (from the short stay with the family). Upon further inspection, Luka did have an ear infection that required antibiotics and a flush to keep the infection from returning.  Luka also needed to be neutered, but other than that Luka was “good to go”.

Luka joins a family of dog lovers.   His new forever Dad is no stranger to Rescue (he previously adopted another Frenchie from NBBR). Even though his forever Dad had adopted previously, he still needed to complete the adoption screening process.  So after the vet check, interviews and a home visit he was ready to start the “matching”. Dad definitely wanted another Frenchie as he had been bitten by the “Frenchie Bug” with his last adoption. After she passed away, Dad definitely knew that he had a hole in his heart that only a Frenchie could fill.  It took several months for Dad to be ready for a new family member, so he decided that when the time was right, he would know.   In the meantime, we had not one but TWO Frenchies join the NBBR family.  It was decided that Dad and the family would meet both Peanut and Luka and let chemistry make the decision. The Meet ant Greet went very well for everyone, so the decision was even tougher than originally thought. However, after a family meeting it was unanimous: Luka was “the one”.

Luka now has 2 forever canine brothers AND two canine nephews.  To say that his play schedule is full is an understatement.   This is exactly what Luka needs.  He will definitely be spoiled rotten AND loved like he has never been before.  Congratulations are definitely in order for the entire family and especially Luka.  Enjoy your happily ever after little man.

9/13/2021 Update:

Hello everyone,

Luka here!  I have been with our new foster mom for a little over two weeks now.  My foster brother and I have all gotten to know each other and seem to get along well.  I like to eat, play, and sleep. So far I have learned how to go in and out of the doggie door.  We have both been working on the potty training and we are doing better but will still go on the pee pee pads when foster mom is at work.  It’s a work in progress but we will eventually get there.  Foster mom has changed our diet and our bellies are a little upset but she said the food is much better for our skin and digestive system.  It is yummy food and we are sure we will adjust.

This weekend a new friend came over to visit.  Her name is Izzy.  She is a pitbull and very nice.  We played with her until she had enough and then we all got into a tiff.  We were all separated and all was good.  No one got hurt.  We also went to a nice dog park.  We ran for a few minutes and decided it was too hot outside.  Foster mom took us home where there was A/C and we all took a short nap.

My favorite part of our day is in the evening, when foster mom gets home.  We go on an evening walk, eat dinner, and then snuggle on the couch.  Then it’s time for bed.  Yes, we sleep in bed with foster mom.  Her bed is so comfy.  She even bought stairs for us to use to get on her bed. It’s a tall bed and she does not want us to hurt ourselves.

Well, that is all.  I am super excited to meet everyone at our first bulldog event.

9/6/2021 Update:

Hi, my name is Luka! I am new to “No Borders Bulldog Rescue”.  I originally lived with a breeder but then was given to a single father with a child and another big dog.  The single father was not able to give me, his child, and the other dog the attention that we all needed so he surrendered me to No Borders Bulldog Rescue in hopes to find the perfect family that can give me lots of love.  I get along with adults, children, and other dogs.  Whenever I see a cat I want to chase it. I have not been able to catch one yet and not quite sure what I would do with a cat if I did catch it.

I like to run, play, and take walks. Of course, my favorite pastime is to snuggle on the couch with my foster mom and snore.  Let me tell you, I can snore with the best of them.  I am not much of a crate lover.  I prefer to lay on the floor, couch, and yes at night I sleep in the bed with my foster mom.  I am spoiled.

During the day when foster mom is at work, I go in and out of the doggie door.  The front court yard has rocks and I am not fond of using the restroom on rocks so foster mom puts piddle pads down so I go on them when she is gone.  I much prefer grass to do my business on. Well, that is all from Luka today.  Foster mom will give an update on me next week.

8/31/2021 Update:

Please welcome Luka to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.  Luka is a 2 year old male French Bulldog that weighs 29 lbs.

Luka joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender. From the information we received, Luka has had a bumpy beginning to his short life.  Most recently, Luka was given to a family and after a week, they decided that a second dog was too much responsibility to take on and they contacted NBBR to help Luka find a new home.

Upon further inspection, Luka did have an ear infection that requires antibiotics and a flush to keep the infection from returning.  Luka also was scheduled for a quick snip, snip (neuter) and he was ready for his foster home.

Luka is your typical Frenchie.  He has energy for days when he first meets someone.  He wants to run, jump and give kisses.   Luka appears to like everyone regardless of species. His previous family had a larger dog that he got along with well.  He interacted well with the dogs he saw briefly at the clinic during his surgery stay.   Luka has not been cat tested yet, so the verdict is still out. That might be awhile, since his foster home doesn’t have any cats.  Luka is currently settling in with his foster family and getting adjusted to his new digs.   Stay tuned for future updates on Mr. L as he begins his journey to find his final and forever home.
