11/23/2019 Update:

Macie was ADOPTED!!!! As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, Macie is probably one of the most thankful as she now has her own FOREVER home.

Macie joined the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family in early 2019.  2019 brought a couple of bumps in Macie’s life journey. The first one was when her forever family didn’t have time for her any longer.  Based on that assessment, she was surrendered to NBBR and asked to find her a good forever home.   After officially joining the NBBR family, Macie joined a foster family and things were good.  She had a foster brother to play with and she settled in waiting for her forever home.  But through no fault of Macie’s, her foster family decided that they would not longer be able to foster her and she once again found herself weathering another “bump”. The good news is that Macie was placed with a new foster home and her search for a forever home began anew.

After several months with her new foster family, Macie hit the jackpot with a forever family of her very own.   Macie’s new parents are custom made for her.  They are young, active and enjoy walks.  This is a match made in heaven since while at her first foster home Macie may have gained a few unnecessary pounds.  Now, we are not in the business of body shaming anyone, but Macie realized that she needed an active family to help her get back to the svelte girlish figure she once had.  And to make things even better Macie’s forever family decided to open their doors again and are now fostering another Bulldog for NBBR. Macie now has two loving parents and a new foster brother to spend time with.  While 2019 may have been a little bumpy, it is ending in grand fashion and for that Macie, her forever parents and all the volunteers of NBBR are truly thankful. Congratulations go out to Macie and her forever family.

10/21/2019 Update:

Hi there, Macie here. Not sure about anyone else, but I sure am enjoying this Texas fall weather, it means I get extra playtime outside & much longer walks. Don’t be fooled by my beefy stature, I still have plenty of energy & beg for at least 2 walks a day.  I also enjoy nighttime snuggles. I either cuddle on the couch with FM watching ridiculous reality TV with her, or I’m bonding with FD in his man cave. I’m super excited for Halloween & can’t wait to dress up & pass out candy to all the tiny humans in our neighborhood.
Whelp, It’s time for me to take my evening stroll around the neighborhood. Bye for now! 🐾

9/4/2019 Update:

Hello again, everybody! Macie here. It’s been a pretty easy breezy couple of weeks here at my foster house. The weather was a little cooler so I got a few extra walks in with my morning and evening ones! Even one in the rain (I insisted)! Pawster Ma says it’s gonna keep geting cooler which means…more walks! I’ve even started losing a little weight! I’ve met a few more dogs and even a couple of cats. We found one lost dog and I let her walk with me until we found her home. I’ve gone on lots of car rides too and have been a good girl the whole time! My Pawster parents got me a pool and I love it!

Got a big weekend coming up. I’ll be making a celebrity appearance at the Old Town Brewhouse in Lewisville this weekend! Maybe I’ll meet my forever family there!

From Macie’s fosters:
Macie is a big, lovable, and energetic girl. She’s looking for an active forever family that will give her plenty of exercise and want to include her in as much as possible. She’s proven to be good with other dogs, indifferent with cats, and very tolerant with kids. She’s a big girl and can be a bit rough during playtime, but she is not aggressive. If you think she’s a good fit for your family, please reach out to this rescue group!

8/19/2019 Update:

Hi, everyone! Macie here! I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted but it’s been crazy lately! Two weeks ago, I moved to a new foster home, and it’s been nothing but fun! My new foster mom and foster dad tell me everyday how I’m such a good girl! FM wasn’t quite used to a dog my size, but now she says it’s just more of me to love. I go on long walks every morning and evening all over the neighborhood. They let me on the couch and even sleep in their bed.

Last weekend was foster dad’s birthday so we had tons of people over, and I was a super sweet girl. Everyone loved on me and played with me. I even got to hang out with a couple of older kids. I’ve met a few dogs around the neighborhood, and, to FM and FD’s surprise, was still very well behaved. Just a few quick sniffs to say hello and I’m on my way. Hey, I’m a lover, not a fighter. Well, there was this machine rolling around the backyard the other day dragging FD behind it. I bit it a few times and it stopped. FD said it was ok and that it’s the “lawn mower.” Whatever.

Anyway, until next week…

Lovin’ life,
Macie

7/9/2019 Update:

Hello everyone – Macie here!  Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July – or, as I like to call it, the LOUDEST night of my life!  Did everyone hear all those things making such loud explosion noises?  The Humans called them fireworks.  Told me and my foster brother they are pretty to watch, but we must watch from inside……..but all the Humans were outside…….I didn’t understand!!  I wanted to be outside with everyone else!!  I wasn’t scared, more like annoyed that I couldn’t be outside during the “loudness.”  We had lots of company that day and everyone was petting me and some were even sneaking me some snacks.  It was definitely a delicious day.  Oh, I forgot to let you all know that I love belly rubs – so make sure you know this if you are interested in being my new family.  I will lay upside down and wait for you to rub the belly!  I smile a lot when this is being done………..I love it!  The rest of the weekend my Humans were home and we had a great time just couch surfing and playing with my toys.  I sure do miss outside daytime play time, but it’s really hot out, so I know that I need to stay indoors – until it’s dark THEN I am out and about…….I’m such a good girl………until next time, Love, Macie.

6/30/2019 Update:

Hello everyone – Macie here!   It has been a pretty quiet couple of weeks since I last updated – too hottttt outside now to do much during the daytime, but FM and FD take me and my foster siblings out for night-time fun – which I really enjoy!  These bugs with lights on them are always in the yard and I have fun trying to catch one. I also have discovered two frogs (I left them alone like a good girl) and there’s many rabbits around that my foster brother likes to chase in the dark.  They run too fast for me – I’m all about the light bugs instead.  In the daytime, the Humans get in this huge thing filled with water called a POOL and laugh and look like they are having so much fun. I’m not allowed in it – I still have to be supervised at all times when I am around it.  I try to stick my face in sometimes (I claim it’s to get a drink, but I keep hearing that NO word)….  I also know that with my white face I attract the sun rather quickly, so I am just allowed to come say HI to everyone in the big pool and then back inside until it’s cooler.  Ho hum……. Last week FM babysat her “grand-dog” again….she’s much smaller than me, but I really have fun playing with her.  I get along with everyone I meet (except for that pig –).  I love all other dogs and especially children.   I heard this week is going to be a LOUD one with something called fireworks and maybe bbq’s and lots of humans coming over.  Foster Mom has been telling me I may have to spend one evening in something called “the guest room,” just  so I am safe and out of danger.   She said my foster brother will be in there, too, it’s not a punishment.  So, I just hope that when I am in there, she lets me have some treats from that BBQ!  I love to eat………….. that’s why I am a full figured OEB.  Everyone be safe this holiday and remember – us dogs don’t usually like fireworks, so be careful around us this year!  Love, Macie.

6/9/2019 Update:

Hi everyone – Macie here!  I am going to be happy to see cooler temps this week – these warmer days have not been my friend….I have had a few issues with some allergy hot spots lately, but we visited Dr. H and I got on some meds that have zapped the issue and I’m doing lots better now.  I was advised not to roll around in the freshly cut grass for a while and maybe stay away from the neighbor’s fence – they seem to have something called “poison ivy” growing and aren’t in any hurry to chop it down.  Foster Dad said he is going to take care of it if “they” don’t – just in case that had anything to do with my hot spots.  I’m also super intrigued by this huge hole in the ground filled with water – the humans call it a POOL.  I’m only allowed near it with supervision.  And, when it’s not supervised, I’m behind a fence.  I kinda wanna jump in it, but Foster Mom said NO.  So, back to my play pools I go……….  I’m doing super good and I’m just a happy go lucky girl spending time with my foster family until someone wants to adopt me…..(I think my foster bro has a crush on me, whatcha think???) — until then, everyone have a great week – Love, Macie.

5/6/2019 Update:  Hi there!  Macie here!  Sorry I haven’t been posting lately – my foster humans went out of town for the Easter week and then they were super busy at work getting caught up.  Meanwhile, I was having LOTS of fun at Doggy Boarding with my foster brother – we simply had a blast.  The only time I get upset with him is when he tried to get in front of me while taking a photo – I gave him the “stank eye” for cutting in front of me.  Ha.  So, my personality is really coming out now and I’d like to tell you about myself.  First off, I’m pretty darn funny.  I make funny faces at things and I love to sit like a human when I can.  If I can’t sit, I will stretch out and lay on my back – hint hint, rub my belly!! I still have a lot of energy for my age and I can run circles around these youngsters.  I can jump pretty high, which surprises lots of people since they see me and think otherwise.  Sometimes my jumps get me in trouble however. I did figure out how to jump on the dining room table (No!), the kitchen counter (No!), and I can even get a running start and make it on top of the washing machine!!  I love to be cuddled – which is sometimes difficult because I am a full-figured dog and I think I can still sit on your lap while this cuddling is happening.  I do like to sleep on a human bed, but you don’t have to be in one with me……..I just like to have access if I want to.  I have a fascination with garden hoses.  So, if you think you can let me outside while you are watering the yard – think again!  One thing you can do is fill up a play pool for me and I’ll stay there until I splash all the water out.  Some things that scare me pretty badly – thunder and the vacuum.  I don’t like either one.  Matter of fact, if you are home and it starts to thunder, be advised I will find you and request that you sit with me and cuddle – just to let me know it’s just a loud noise and I will be ok.  If you are using that vacuum and I’m around – I get a bit upset by that noise, so it’s best if I go outside and play while you clean up the floors.  I love food – like, a LOT.  So, don’t leave anything unattended on the table or the counter.  I will sniff it and find it.  If you tell me NO, I will stop, but I’ll pout badly and try my best to guilt you into a bite.  At least a small taste.  I am a bit stubborn when it comes to sharing my toys, but I am not mean or aggressive about it.  I just take the toy and go into another room and play with it.  If it’s mine – it needs to stay mine.  I am a sweet loving girl – living it up at my foster home and waiting to meet my new forever family someday!!  Everyone have a good week – Love, Macie

4/15/2019 Update:

Hi everyone – Macie here!  I’ve had such a good week – let me share!!  First off, I am still Top Dog at Daycare.  I keep hearing what a good girl I am and how well I play with others.  Foster Mom took me and Foster Bro to the dog park twice last week, too.  I am just so sweet and caring around other dogs, especially those that are smaller than me.  I tend to have a big heart for little dogs and little people – I just LOVE kids!  I will run up to a small human and expect them to pet me for a while before I am off for more playtime.  Even though I am five years old, I am extremely playful and it’s my favorite thing to do (besides eat!).  I also love water – if you have a garden hose, well, it’s mine.  And, if you have a small play pool in your yard, that’s mine too.  Anything that holds water – is mine.   As it starts to heat up outside, just throw a play pool in the yard and I am content for a longgggggggg time!  I even enjoy a nice towel wipe down after water play.  I will lay there nice and still and let you just pet me/dry me – I am just such a GOOD girl, did I already say that???  Until next week, Love Macie.

4/8/2019 Update:

Hello everyone – Macie here!  Ok, so why is it all nice and pretty during the week and then it rains and is nasty on the weekends when my Foster Mom is home???  Well, she made up for it by making lots of yummy treats over the weekend and even though it did rain, I had plenty of outside time during the week.  I am just hooked on Doggie Daycare.  That place is FUN.  My foster brother and I have a ball – look at how cute we are on the play equipment!   We even posed for a photo together.  I think we are really starting to get along well.   So, I did one bad thing this week.  I ran off from my foster home.  I got out the front door and I just kept on running.  I don’t know where exactly I was running to, but I just decided to keep on going.  I heard foster mom yelling at me.  I stopped and looked back at her once coming up behind me with the leash and I just took off running faster.  I thought it was funny……… next thing I know, my foster brother has caught up to me and now we are both running!  We found a fence that was partially open, and we decided to run in there…………..oh boy was foster mom mad at us.  That is when I knew that my foster brother really likes me – he risked his own behind to chase me.  Of course, Foster Mom caught us both and said a lot of mad things to us the entire walk back home.  I can’t promise I won’t try to run off again — since it was a lot of fun, but I don’t think I will run off as far as I did last time……..I was pretty tired after all that running.  Besides, I don’t like to be too far from the food.  I hope everyone has a good week!  Love, Macie.

3/31/2019 Update:

Good morning everyone, Macie here!  Gosh, where did all this windy cool weather come from this weekend?  I was all ready to have lots of outdoor play until that wind hit me – brrrr.  So, this past week I went to Doggie Daycare again with my foster brother.  I love that place – we played a lot.  I like to hide in all the outside toys and wait for the humans to come find me………..SO MUCH FUN.  Once again, everyone told me I was a good girl, I played along well with others, and I was super sweet.  I get so worn out at playtime, I like to just pass out in front of the washer/dryer at home.  My foster mom doesn’t understand why I like to lay here, when I have a comfy bed and lots of other places to rest, but this is my choice, so she gave me some older blankets to lay on for the times I choose to still rest here.  I also decided that the brand new outdoor furniture the humans bought is for me too.  I keep hearing that word NO when I get up here, but yesterday FM took photos of me on here, so maybe I will eventually be allowed????  I guess not.  But, I sure do look pretty up here!  Speaking of pretty, foster brother and I had a spa day this weekend.  I had a bath, a lot of brushing and cleaning, and I must say, I look really nice and white now where I’m supposed to be white…….and I smell sooooooooo good!  The Doggie Spa said I did wonderful there, too.  I was calm, I let everyone bathe me, and I sure did enjoy being treated like the Princess I am……….  Until next week, Love, Macie.

3/25/2019 Update:

Hello everyone!  Macie here!  I had such a great week and weekend – I just must brag about myself today.  First off, FM had to work a lot last week so my foster brother and I went to Doggie Daycare several days so we could be outside and play while all the Humans worked.  I was such a good girl at daycare – everyone bragged on me and said I have good manners, play so well with others, and I made many new friends.  There were so many toys and agility items to show off my strength, tricks, and funny spirit.   Later in the week, FM had to babysit another dog, this cute little French Bulldog (she called her the “granddog”) and made me promise to be really nice to her.  Well, that was easy.  I really did enjoy her – we played together all weekend long and even though I am much bigger than her, I was gentle and I shared my toys and snacks, and we even had some fun in the sun outside.  I was a bit alarmed when I realized this little Frenchie was not at all afraid of the big bad Pig.  Matter of fact, she played with “it.”  She was even laying super close to the pig and the pig was wiggling his tail and Frenchie played with the tail too!  So, I decided if the Frenchie doesn’t think the pig is bad, maybe I need to be more open minded myself.  By Sunday afternoon, Foster Mom caught me, Frenchie, my foster brother, and Pig alllllll snoozing together in the nice sunshine.  I got several treats and told what a good girl I was becoming!   So, all in all, I had a great past week – Love, Macie.

3/18/2019 Update:

Another fun week has passed – Macie here!  I had a pretty eventful week, let me just say.  First off, all the Humans keep talking about a “time change.”  I don’t know what that is, but what I do know is Foster Mom is home before dark and we have been having so much fun once she arrives.  We’ve gone to the Dog Park every day when she gets home – I love that place!!!  My foster brother calls it a Pet Me Park – he’s all about meeting everyone and getting loved on.  I do that, too, but I really enjoy all the playing as well.  I’ve met some buddies at the park and I was so happy when they were all there each day we were there!  I ride in the car so well. I love the car.  I like to sit by the window so I can look out and see where we are going.  Sometimes I bark at the funny looking cars that might be next to us at a red light, but once someone smiles at me, I stop barking.  I’m also doing much better with walks now that I have a new harness!   I’m getting used to the routine around the house, as well, I slept all through the night without waking up the last two nights – I just feel so comfortable cuddling up with my foster family.  I’m feeling safe now and much loved.

However……….I will say that I am not good around farm animals, so if you have a farm, maybe I’m not your girl.  That pig that lives here?  Yeah, I’m just not his friend.  Matter of fact, we had quite the fight last week.  I got in some serious trouble over it all, too.  I was pretty mean to him and now we don’t get to see each other or play together at all.  I see my foster brother playing with him and I just don’t understand how he can do that – I see that dumb pig and I want to be mean.  I’m not mean at all to anyone else – not even babies that I meet while out and about.  I love every human and every dog I see.  But – not the pig — I see bacon.   So, my foster family has to keep me away from him – maybe someday I will calm down around that pig, but for now, I’m gonna just stick to loving all the humans I see and all the other dogs I see…………  Love, Macie

3/11/2019 Update:

Hello there, Macie here!  I have been with my new foster family for a little over a week now and I’m getting all settled in……my first meet and greet at Pawdi Gras was lots of fun.  I had so many pets and lovins and met many new people.  I wasn’t shy or bashful, matter of fact, I was all over that Harley Davidson store – sniffing and looking around.  My first week at my new foster home included me getting used to the ropes and rules.  My new foster brother is helping me out, showing me around.  We went to this place called “Doggie Daycare.”  I must admit I really had fun here.  We played with toys and other dogs allllll day long and I got treats and lots of love, too.  My foster brother introduced me to all his friends and I get along well with all dogs and all people so far.  After doggie daycare, Foster Mom picks us up and we get a delicious dinner and I’m so tired by this point I am snoozing during the nighttime petting and lovins.  I also got to sleep in a human big bed last week because I was minding so well and being so sweet.  Foster Brother moved right over to give me room to snuggle close to him.  This weekend we went to another exciting place called a Dog Park.  I got to roam all around here with no leash on and I played with several new friends and humans.  After this fun excursion, we had more yummy treats and more cuddles.  I was a bit high strung when I first arrived, but I am settling down now that I am getting into a routine and learning who everyone is around me now.  I have a pretty big appetite, I love to eat.  I absolutely love toys!  I can play until I just fall asleep if you let me.  I also got in trouble just a couple of small times – I am a bit taller and able to reach a few things at the house that my Foster Brother can’t, so I did try to help him out and grab a few things off the kitchen counter.  Oops.  I learned that was a big NO.  There is also this strange “dog” that lives here – I heard the humans call him a PIG.  I don’t really like him.  Everyone else does, but I am not so sure.  We’ve sniffed each other a few times and I got close to him once, but then I barked at him and started attacking him, so they keep me away from PIG now.  Foster brother seems to love PIG, and maybe I’ll warm up to him sometime, but for now – NO.  I see that pig and I think about bacon……..

Foster Mom says we are taking it easy this week, so I’ll report back about what we did.  Until then, I’m just really sweet and loveable………..Love, Macie

2/23/2019 Update:

Please welcome Macie to No Borders Bulldog Rescue. Macie is a 5 year old female Olde English Bulldog that weighs 65 lbs.

Macie joins the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family as an owner surrender.  Due to some life changes with her forever family they were no longer able to provide the attention that Macie needed to be her best Bulldog self.   Like all of the Bulldogs that join NBBR, Macie’s first step was to the clinic.  While in very good shape and well taken care of, Macie needed to have a couple of her vaccinations brought up to date and to get a quick check up to determine that she was as healthy as she appeared.  It was nothing but good news for Ms. Macie, she is heartworm negative and in very good shape. Macie spent the evening at the clinic and then met her new foster family the next day.

The fist thing you notice about Ms. Macie is her ENERGY. She is all wiggles and has to see EVERYTHING everywhere she goes.  While she is very energetic, she does calm down quickly.  Macie loves car rides and is a very well behaved co-pilot.  When riding to meet her new foster mom, Macie decided it was best if she put her head in her chauffeur’s lap.  Macie joined her foster family later in the evening and settled in nicely.  Stay tuned for updates as we learn more about her.
