2/17/2018 Update:   Maximus was ADOPTED!!!! It is with the greatest pleasure we are able to announce Maximus has found his forever family.

Maximus has had quite a few changes in his life over the past several months.  After his original owner passed away, the family put him up for sale.  He thought he had found his new family when a woman saw his ad and brought him home.  Unfortunately for Maximus, his new Mom received a promotion at work after just a few weeks of him moving in.  With the new position, his Mom wasn’t going to have enough time for him anymore and he found himself looking for a new place to live once again.  Thankfully for Maximus, one of our friends saw him for sale and immediately set out to get him in to rescue.

Max’s forever family originally was thinking they wanted a younger Bulldog after their previous loved one had died recently and it was very hard for them.   However, there was something about Maximus that caught their eyes and hearts.  They were so smitten with Maximus they made two long distance trips. The first trip was to our last event just to meet Maximus. The second trip was to officially make him the newest member of the family.  Maximus is the perfect fit for his family. While he is “older”, he has plenty of energy to play and after playing he loves to cuddle on the couch with his humans.  Maximus now has a new forever Mom, Dad and human sister. Maximus will be the only pup in the house, so we know he will be center of attention and beyond happy with this arrangement. Congratulations to Mr. Maximus and his entire family.

2/3/2018 Update:

Hi everyone!!! My name is Maximus………but you can call me Max for short!!! I came into my foster home a week ago and have quickly figured out that this is the good life, I wasn’t so sure at first, but as you tell by the pictures, I sorta have it made. I have foster parents who love on me, talk to me really sweet and my foster dad even tries to play with me, but I don’t know what playing means, I just look at him like he is crazy when he tries to play, but I will get it eventually!!

I have the biggest “brut” for a foster fur brother. I hear my foster parents talking to each other about how good my brother is being to me. He is really nice to me, and even shares his our bed and cuddles with me. I wasn’t sure about sharing the bed with him at first, but quickly got over that because he keeps me warm!!!  I hear he usually isn’t that nice to other dogs, so I must be something special because he hasn’t had to correct me one time and treats me really, really good.

Since I was crated most of my life, I am trying to catch on to the concept of using the bathroom outside in the grass instead of in my kennel, but I have a couple of accidents this week. You see, I LOVE my kennel and love to be in there. My foster mom leaves the door open and often times finds me in there sleeping, it really is my safe place. I know I will get better at knowing where to use the bathroom because I get treats when I do the right thing and I really like the treats they give me.

My fur is already starting to look better since I am now on a good food, and I am coming to the end of my medication for my UTI. I will be at the event this weekend and I love to meet new people, so if you are out there please come by and say hello to me!!

Until next time,

Max!!!

1/29/2018 Update:  Please welcome Maximus to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue family.  Maximus is a 5 year old male French Bulldog weighing 25 lbs.

Maximus has had quite a few changes in his life over the past several months.  After his original owner passed away, the family put him up for sale.  He thought he had a found his new family when a woman saw his ad and brought him home.
Upon picking Maximus up, our volunteer immediately fell in love.  Maximus is a sweet little guy who gives kisses freely despite being scared of all the new changes.  He was shaking in the car so our volunteer made sure to pet him the entire drive – if she had to stop petting him for even a second he was quick to look at her as if to say “please don’t stop”.   She just couldn’t say no and pet him all the way to meet his new foster Mom.
Maximus went to his foster home last night and settled right in.  He met both his Bulldog foster brother and feline siblings and all went well.  We were told he is a picky eater and usually sniffs all his food before eating.  While he wouldn’t eat the dog food he came with, he was quick to inhale a piece of chicken his foster Mom offered him.   No sniffing involved.  She opted to make him his own chicken breast and will work on getting him on a high quality, grain free food that he will enjoy.
Maximus is crate trained and when he got tired last night he put himself to bed in the crate without any prompting. His foster Mom found him in there with his Bulldog foster brother lying beside the crate with him.  No doubt telling Maximus about how wonderful his life will be from now on.
Maximus went to the clinic today to get up to date on all his vaccinations and to get an overall checkup. Stay tuned as well learn more about Maximus as he starts his journey to find a forever home.
