7/28/2019 Update:

Mercy was ADOPTED!!!  Mercy joins a very exclusive group, No Borders Bulldog Rescue Alumnae Club, and we couldn’t be happier.

Mercy joined NBBR over a year ago.  She was an owner surrender Bulldog whose owner had had major changes in his life and was unable to give her the life that he wanted for her.  Things had gotten so bad that they were living in a car in the coldest part of the winter.  When Mercy joined NBBR she had a long list of issues that needed to be addressed.   Actually this is how she got her name, she was in such bad shape when our volunteers first saw her, their comment was “Lord have mercy, this one is a hot mess”.   Well we took that as a sign and she was officially named Mercy. To say she was a hot mess was an understatement, she had issues with constant vomiting, breathing issues, severe skin issues, ears and eyes were a mess….. you get the idea.   Mercy left the clinic after her stay and went to a foster home to begin her journey.   She was doing well for awhile but then she and the resident dog would have intermittent battles for attention.  Things would be fine for a few days then it would be on for the next days.   Her foster family was concerned that she may need to have a new foster home where Mercy was an only dog.  So, after much discussion Mercy was taken in by another foster family (we try to make this a rare occurrence since most of the NBBR Bulldogs have already been through so much, our goal is to give them stability).

As you can probably tell, the fact that Mercy was with us for over a year (15 months to be exact) we were in no hurry to rush Mercy off to a home.  But we did know that a home perfect for her was out there. Notice we didn’t say a perfect home (those don’t exist) but a home that was perfect for Mercy.   And boy did Mercy hit the JACKPOT!!  Not only is she the only dog in the house and can get ALL the attention ALL the time, she now has a Forever Mom, Dad AND two human sibling brothers.   Mercy LOVES kids so she will be in Bulldog heaven having not ONE but TWO boys to run, play and snuggle.   Congratulation to the entire family.  We are so happy to see all the smiling faces at the adoption, wishing all involved the very best and thank you for giving Ms. Mercy the opportunity to be loved and to be the Bulldog she was always meant to be.

6/9/2019 Update:

Mercy has had a very busy couple of weeks. Mercy has been on the move!! Mercy and her foster family had a big event in Canada (a wedding). So everyone loaded up the care and hit the road to Canada on May 23 – driving through 5 States and taking 5 long days. Mercy was an excellent traveler, sleeping  most of the time in the vehicle taking advantage of breaks.  Mercy did very well adjusting to a new home every night. She loved getting in the car each morning. Aside from the frequent disgusting odors coming from the back seat, Mercy was the perfect travel companion. (What’s a little gas among family??) We crossed the border on the 5th day without incident and arrived at our destination – a horse ranch in the Alberta Rockies and yes, Mercy experienced snow- in May!!

Everyone will be heading home in 2 weeks – so in the meantime Mercy will be enjoying long walks and runs in the cool fresh air and meeting all her fur cousins.

4/29/2019 Update:

It has been 2 months since we started fostering Mercy.  She has brought so much joy to our house.  We have really gotten to know her personality, her quirks and her occasional struggles.  Mercy loves to love and be loved, like most dogs, but she seriously really loves food.  She also really loves people, little people in particular.  She loves going to the dog park, especially if there are big dogs around as I believe she thinks she is a big dog.  If ever there is an altercation at the dog park, Mercy is in the thick of things trying to mediate the situation – I think she loves the energy and she is a natural peace maker.  Mercy loves going for walks – sometimes.  For some unknown reason she decides that is enough and digs her heels in to go back home.  Most times she keeps going with a little encouragement and then she happily struts along.  She walks great on the leash, but has a bad habit of wandering in front of or under the walker’s feet so you have to be paying attention! Wherever we go, Mercy is the center of attention – people love her and she happily greets then with her tail wagging at warp speed.  This sweet girl is a real gem.

4/8/2019 Update:

Hi Everyone!

Had another great week except I’m missing my foster dad who is away on business.  He’s the best for sitting a watching TV with.  The weather was great so we got outside a lot – had a great time at the dog park and met some new friends.  Had to go to the vet to update my vaccinations – they think I’m such a good girl but I hardly notice them doing anything so its pretty chill. I’ve been doing really well with the house training, I had only one mistake the morning my foster mom slept in!!  Cat and I have been spending lots of time on the couch together – he’s pretty laid back but he did swat me on the head on time for snoring too loudly

4/1/2019 Update:

Hi Everyone – It’s Mercy again!  It’s been a busy week at my foster home – lots of people coming to the house to do renovations and I’ve been appointed designated greeter.  I patiently wait for them to come in the house then I give them lots of love and they tell me what a sweet and beautiful girl I am.  I have been liking the cool weather – makes it easier for me to go for nice walks around the lake or run at the dog park but I have to admit my favorite thing is to go for car rides and hang out with my foster folks on the couch.  Hope everyone has a great week.

3/25/2019 Update:

Hello everyone!

Success!  I have successfully been house trained!  My foster mom just had to make sure I got out on regular walks and it also helped that my new vet helped cure a bladder issue too!  My foster mom also cured my dry nose with Kukui Oil.  Just one application and my nose is smooth again.  I’ve been feeling great and I love playing with my tennis ball – just don’t asked me to fetch – isn’t going to happen – but I do love Tug of War.

I’ve been spending my days lounging by the pool and getting a start on my summer tan.  Soon it will be to muggy to spend much time outside but I so love being outdoors – almost as much as I love car rides.  I’m such a good girl in the car – staying in the back and either looking out the window or napping.  I do have a bad habit of trying to get into the front of the car before my Foster Folks have had a chance to open my back door though.  I just want to make sure they don’t forget me!

3/18/2019 Update:

Hi Everyone,

Best week ever!!  I LOVE the off leash park!! Had so much fun playing with the other dogs, running, wrestling and enjoying being off leash – all the people there are so friendly too.  I even learned a new skill – walking up and down the plank set up at the dog park!  I am also making great progress with my house training and not peeing in my bed at night. My Foster Mom is so please with me each morning that there is nothing to clean up!! The cool weather has been great for going for walks around the lake but I do love the sun too and I have a perfect spot to catch the rays on the grass by the fence.  I love to hang out with my foster folks outside.  I like to lay by the pool or sit in the chair while they work or visit outside. My foster mom heard me “kinda” bark the other day (I generally do not bark at all).  I saw a shadow on the brick wall across the street and thought it was a monster – my bark was so quiet that my Foster Mom wasn’t sure it was a bark at all!!  I even tried growling – I think my snores are louder than my growls but I gave it a good try and the monster disappeared.  Have a great week everyone.

Mercy

3/11/2019 Update:

Hi Everyone!  I have had a great week.  I went for another field trip to Home Depot and Lowes and almost everyone stops to pet me – 3 people even asked where I could be adopted and took down the information for NBBR. I feel very loved. My foster mom and dad tell me all the time what a good girl I am and how well behaved I am in public

I also met my new doctor – I’ve gained some weight and now weigh in at 36 pounds! The doctor found that I had a lung infection and he put me on antibiotics – he also did some other tests and my blood work came back perfect.  I’m still waiting to hear about my urine test.  My foster mom thinks I must have had a bladder infection as I’ve done really well not peeing at night since being on the antibiotics for my chest!  I’m definitely feeling better and my foster parents have noticed that I am way more play this week.

I’m loving my walks around the lake especially with my new friend Snoop.  Now that the weather is warmer I’ve been taking my naps outside in the sun – sometimes I find myself on the chair, sometimes on top of the table but I’m just as happy on the grass or lounging by the pool.

3/4/2019 Update:

Hi Everyone, Mercy here!

I’ve had a very exciting past few days.  On Friday my new foster mom and dad picked me up in Austin and brought me to their home in Sugar Land.  I was having a hard time getting along with my foster sister so I thought I’d try out a new place. My new foster family will work with me to understand what the issue was so that I find the perfect forever family/home for me.  There are no other dogs at my new home but I have met Cat!  I love Cat and it would be amazing to hang out with him but he treats me like I’m inferior – I don’t take it personally though because my foster mom says he treats everyone that way.

I’m adjusting really well to my new home.  My new foster parents tell I’m a sweet little girl.  They also praise me for how well I walk on the leash when we go around the lake and that I listen very well. We went for a field trip to Lowes and Petco and I got lots of loving from the people there.  When my foster mom takes too long in one spot I flop down on my belly bulldog style and patiently wait for her to move on.

I’m still working on not peeing in my bed at night – wish me luck with the new training!  Have a great week and stay warm!

2/18/2019 Update:

Good Morning to all – Mercy here!

I have been a lazy girl lately! Made my way to the vet on Saturday to check on an allergy issue and get my ears looked at. They always compliment me on what a sweet girl I am. I have no fears of taking rides in cars, of course after my meds. Mom doesn’t like cleaning up acid re-flux or hearing it come up when she is driving HA HA HA! I jump in the car and I am ready for the adventure. I don’t even have issues going to the vet. I get loved on by everyone that meets me and I love meeting new dogs. I seem to mind my manners very well. I enjoy the weeks especially when it’s warm and I can go outside and sunbathe. I like to climb up in my marked chair and enjoy the freedom. We had a busy but productive weekend. I got to spend quality time with my foster mom and brother. I am still having jealous issues with my foster sister Holly here and there. Mom is working on this with me. I just love her and any attention that I don’t want to share sometimes. Just like a teenage girl! I have been doing amazing now after a couple of months on my new food. Fish and sweet potatoes seem to be a great fit for me! Not much else to report. Just laying around like a lazy dog and playing with my toys. Hope everyone had a great week – sending a ton of love and butt rubs!

2/3/2019 Update:

Mercy here!

Hope everyone is enjoying the roller coaster ride with the weather! I am such a princess, any time its wet, I almost refuse to go outside and these cloudy days and fog haven’t helped either. I do not like my paws wet by any means. Let’s just say I haul booty to my crate when I realize it’s wet and my foster mom is trying to take me out. Just to show her who is boss, I poop and pee on the concrete. Man, does she fuss at me but I give her a sweet look and she laughs. Me and my sister have been acting like teenage girls being moody and having PMS. Not really but that is how we are acting. One is happy and then the other one isn’t. One is getting too much attention and the other isn’t. Mom is wore out with us ladies! I am super needy but got some super cuddling in this weekend while my foster brother was gone. Other than that, I am a happy, healthy bully living the dream. Just waiting for my forever home and praying that all my fellow bully’s are being loved on and are safe. Oh, my foster mom wanted to me to share the fact, that when I do find my forever home, if you get up from the couch and leave for 1 second, I will steal your seat. Never fails! HA! Until next week, sending so much love and butt rubs!

Mercy here!

Hope everyone is staying warm and giving their critters extra love! I have been busy sleeping, snoring, farting, cuddling, eating, pooping, and repeating all this! I hope all my fellow rescues are doing the same! I have been a lady minding my manners and following direction. My favorite thing to do is lay on the couch with mom and sleep! Mom is extra squishy and she thinks that’s why I always want to cuddle and get super close. I also loving giving soft gentle kisses when I am allowed. Mom tells me I don’t have bad breath like my sister so she allows to give her more kisses! I have been getting a little feisty with my foster sister again. Mom says it’s because of the full moon. I haven’t had any issues lately so I guess I am just being moody. I am a bulldog and with that alone, I do my own thing when I want to do it. HA! Well, I am just living the good life and getting as much love and attention as I can while I wait for my forever home! Haven’t had any accidents inside the house but I do like to pee in my crate. We are still working on that. Mom says I have a tiny bladder! Maybe if I was a big as my foster sister, I might have more room. She really is a cow. I am more of a baby calf. Sending so much love and butt rubs until next week! Think of me and show my information off. Maybe you will be my good luck charm and help me find my forever home!

Another week under my belt and still a very happy girl! This Texas weather has been such a roller coaster. I love being outside sitting in my chair taking in the sun but it’s hot and then cold and raining. Today is super cold so mom gave me an extra blanket for my crate while she is gone to work. Nothing new going on our end. I continue to be a sweet girl using my manners and giving so many cuddles and kisses as I can. My health continues to get better as I stay on my meds. I just a happy girl waiting on my forever family. Sending so much love and butt rubs!

Mercy here!

Happy Monday to all! Well with the holidays coming to an end, mom is back to her usually busy schedule. But that won’t keep us from getting extra love when she gets home from work. We had a great weekend snuggling and getting to be lazy. I am still being a good girl, not that I am ever a bad girl! Mom keeps telling me my “makeup” is on fleek… my eyes look perfect with my natural eyeliner and my eye shadow HA HA HA I am a pretty girl! I love giving kisses! But I am gentle and just squeeze in when you least expect it. I love sunbathing when I can… I have picked my favorite chair outside and claim it and relax. I am a quiet lady. I don’t bark and use my voice much if any. I let mom know when I want out by moving the sliding glass door blinds and the sound is my signal I want out. When I want in, I jump on the glass and make myself known. Mom isn’t thrilled when I do it to the screen part, but I am working on that also. I hope everyone had an amazing weekend…. until then, sending a ton of love and butt rubs!

Mercy here!

Happy New Year’s! I can feel that 2019 is my year and the year I find my forever home! Our house didn’t do much. Mom was scared to have both of us alone and where she lives, people go nuts with the fireworks, so we all stayed home and cuddled on the couch and watched movies. Fireworks did not bother me at all so that’s something new we got to learn about me. I am the biggest cuddle bug! I am great with kids and other dogs. I haven’t had any feeding issues in a long time. I mind my manners and follow direction great. House trained for the most part. I will signal when I do need to go, so you always need to keep an eye on me when I am pacing by the doggy door. My allergies are definitely better. I am now on a steroid and it has helped greatly. My acid reflux is back on track too. As long as I get my meds in the am, I am good all day. I have learned to share mom with my foster sister and brother. We all now curl up on the couch and give mom almost no room to relax. I have been playful and just love attention. I am definitely a great family pet. I think the more the people I can be around, the more love I try and get. Never meet a stranger! So until next week, sending so much love and butt rubs!

Cheers to 2019,   Mercy

WOW! It’s been an amazing Christmas. Been loved on soooooo much and had some serious snuggle time! Mom has tried to get so many pics of me being cute and putting me in costumes but the ears is all I can tolerate! Everything is going well with my health! I have been bouncing around like a baby goat! Everyone gets a big kick out of it! I have been so much better with my house training and being out of my crate at night, I got to have more time in bed. I was shocked but I love sleeping sitting up so it throws everyone off. HA HA HA… it’s my own little personal trick! Well, I hope everyone got what they asked for from Santa! Sending much love and butt rubs! See you next year!

Mom and my foster family loves me so much and keeps me going! Lots of cuddles with the cold weather and my sister! Ready for Santa to bring me my forever home! Until then , much love and butt rubs!

It’s been a good week. I haven’t tried to runaway or escape! I have been extra good in sharing my foster mom with my foster sister Holly. We share the couch now and give mom no room. We even like tearing up boxes as mom decorates for the holiday. Mom isn’t very happy about it but man do we have a good time. The flu has been in our house so we have been getting a lot of extra cuddles and getting to nap with foster brother and mom. My allergies keep getting better and better. I have finished up some meds and will continue on what’s left to handle any irritation I get. I haven’t had any accidents in the house for a while now and still use my manners following directions on going outside and now I know to go to my bed when mom says “go to your cage”. Sounds like a prison every time mom says it but we know better. She works and comes home to smoother us with love and kisses.  Hope everyone is having a great week! Until next week, sending so much love and butt rubs!

11/26/2018 Update:

Mercy here!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to everyone! It definitely was eventful holiday for me and my foster family! It was nice having everyone home for a few days. I love being able to be lazy and loved on. I have picked a spot on the couch to call my own. I can literally fall sleep sitting up.  I got checked out with the vet follow up on Saturday. My allergies are doing better and improving. I will continue on some medication until all is cleared up. My ears are also looking much better. Doc was very happy with my improvement. I have been causing a little bit of mischief this weekend. I caused a small heart attack with my foster family and the rescue. My foster mom leaves the sliding glass door open for me and my foster sister to come and go when we need to potty. With the cold weather, mom keeps the doors closed but checks on us regularly plus we are not out long. My foster sister barks to let her know we are done. However, I decided to take it upon myself to dig under the gate and get out. I was supposed to be doing my business before bed and I decided I wanted out. Well, mom freaked when she found me missing. The Rescue and herself immediately started trying to find me. Even complete strangers who have a big heart, were out looking for me trying to help. I just wanted to check out the new neighbors house and his new pups. Mom finally found me after a sleepless night with the neighbor early morning hours Sunday. She couldn’t stop crying she was so happy to see me. Let’s just say I am grounded for life…. or until she forgives me. Mom and the neighbor fixed the gate and barricaded it and now its bully safe. Mom is still fussing at me but does it when she loves on me. Mom feed me and medicated me as soon as I was home and I immediately curled up with my foster brother on the couch and slept. I am glad to be safe and home as many people were glad to here. Mom says she hopes she learned my lesson. Mom bought me a new collar and a tag yesterday. I look pretty but I am pretty sure its more about my safety now that I have been labeled a “hot mess escape artist”. Everything else has been pleasant. The colder weather has definitely made me more playful and I’m looking forward to Christmas and Christmas pictures. Until then…. sending much love and butt rubs!

This week has been great. Been cuddling a lot with my foster brother. I like to take over his chair when he gets up but I am so spoiled, he sits beside me. I will literally fall asleep in any position or even sitting up. I have been super playful lately. Mom thinks its this the cold weather I love so much. I have been a good girl. I continue not to have any accidents in the house and minding my manners. I am starting new food to help with my allergies. I keep everyone guessing on if something will work out or not. My mom calls me her “hot mess”. Me and my foster sister Holly have been getting along great and no more jealousy issues. Mom reminds us that she is the one who feeds us, so we better act right HA HA HA. Well, I hope everyone is staying warm. Remember to pray for all the animals not as fortunate or that are stuff in the cold with no help. My mom’s birthday is coming up and we definitely want to try and raise some money for the rescue. Don’t forget to try and do the same. Until next week, sending love and butt rubs.

Well what a beautiful weekend! Mom took us out and let us run our little fat chubby butt hearts out. We just love sunbathing and enjoying the fresh air. I have been a good girl. Health seems to be doing good. Mom has been treating my ears with tea tree oil and what a difference has it been. I haven’t had an skin issues but mom has noticed that I like to chew on my feet. We checked and everything looks normal. I have been more playful lately which is nice for my foster family to see. Mom says I look like a baby goat when I come running out of my crate for love and attention. I have really taken to the toys lately instead of chewing on my foster sister. Just enjoying the good life and being spoiled. I have so much character and love to spread. I hope I find my next family to spoil with it. Until next time, sending much love and butt rubs.

10/29/2018 Update:

Mercy here!

What a great week. I haven’t had any accidents in the house. My nausea is gone again now that the med’s and balanced out. Went to the vet Saturday but my normal vet was not in. We will return this Saturday because my foster mom wants to keep me with the same Dr who knows my history. My skin is looking good. Loving the weather. Mom lets us out to plan and it’s so nice. No rain and cool air. I have been a good girl. No fighting. Just lots of snuggles and cuddles. When mom looks stressed, I like to curl up next to her on the couch and paw at her to let her know I am there and that I love her. She tells me I give the best kisses! Mom says she will miss me once I find my forever home but we know there is someone else out there ready to share their home, love, and snuggles with me too. I hope that I find my home soon. Nice to have it for Christmas but if not, I am fine just where I am at. Until next week, sending lots of love and butt rubs!

10/22/2018 Update:

Mercy here!

Let me just say how awesome this weekend was! I got to get out and play with my foster sister outside while mom kicked us out to clean. Mom has some car trouble so getting to the vet was an issue but things have seem to calm down with me. I do need my ears looked at again but with the medicated bath wash mom has been using on me, my skin seems to be fine. I stopped scratching so all of us are feeling better. I will be back to the vet this coming Saturday on my ears and see what next we can do next. Mom is taking me and Holly and my brother Greyson to get Halloween pics done this weekend too. We are all excited however, she tried putting me in a costume and I am not too sure I like it. But everyone in the house who saw it just laughed and commented on how precious I looked. I make a sweet unicorn. I am sure mom will have pics to share next week. Until then, enjoy this amazing weather, cuddle up tight! Sending much love and butt rubs…

10/15/2018 Update:

Mercy here!

What amazing weather we are having. I love being able to go for walks and play in the water puddles with mom and my foster family.  I completed my meds and it looks like I will be heading back to the vet to check on my ears and possible new hot spot. Mom keeps me washed and taken care of but something just keeps this going. I am cheerful and happy so mom doesn’t worry to much. I am going back to the vet on Saturday so wish us luck. They spoil me while I am there so I love going plus I love riding in the car. I am a good girl and mind my manners. Well, I hope everyone is enjoying this weather and getting extra cuddles to stay warm. I know I am and mom gets the fire going, I love laying in front of the fireplace. Mom said she will get a pic of my for next week. Praying my puppy prayers for my forever family. Until then, sending much love and butt rubs!

10/8/2018 Update:

Mercy here!

Things have been going great. No health issues at the moment, finally on a good road to clean health. They finally figured out my perfect combination of meds for acid reflux so unless mom forgets one morning, that issue has been figured out. I have been getting spoiled like normal. I am attached to my foster mom’s hip but she doesn’t mind. I still get territorial sometimes with my foster sister but I am a good girl overall. Been around other dogs with no issues and a room full of kids and no issues there either. However, I like to pee in the house and my foster mom thought we had me housebroken. So, I have to stay in my bed at night but I have a big comfy blanket. I tend to pee on that too but mom has a stack she rotates in and out. I guess I am turning into the PEE PEE MONSTER. So needless to say, we are now working on that. Have no real complaints. Definitely waiting for the heat to leave us so I can be outside more and get to go on more walks. Maybe someone will adopt me soon and I can spend the holiday with my new family. I know my foster mom will miss me but we already agreed that she is imprinted on my heart as I am on her’s. She loves me and I definitely love her and show her and my foster brother all the time. Mom tells me all the time what a wonderful dog I am. I hope to show a new family that. Until next time, sending plenty of love and butt rubs!

Mercy here!!

It’s been a good week! We are loving the rain and the cooler temperatures however me and my foster sister do not like going out to potty when it’s wet! So we have been head to head with mom on this issue. I went to the vet and had my ears checked out. They are infected again but the Dr thinks it’s been because of my hot spots and just the irritation. I got medicated and already doing better! I’ve been extra spoiled and extra clingy with mom! I like to curl up with her on the couch and give kisses! Just waiting to find my forever home! I know it’s out there and I will be a blessing to them! Until next time, sending love and butt rubs!

I’ve been a good girl! My mom found some new small hot spots but she has me back on my meds. Always surprising her with issues. In sweetest can be and love to have all the attention. I will keep pawing at her or anyone for attention. I’m ready for cooler weather so mom can take us for walks. Mom babysat another awesome bulldog named Gringo this weekend. All three of us behaved together and he was the only boy besides my human foster brother. He was bigger and drooled all over stuff. Mom was happy to be surrounded by all of us and everyone got along! I’ve also been nicer to my foster sister Holly. Well, until next week, sending love and butt rubs!

Things have been busy as mom tries to handle the house, my foster brother and sister, and myself with just her! I’m enjoy the extra kisses and attention when she can. I continue to be needy and want all the attention. And when I don’t get all the attention, I get jealous and try and start arguments! Mom grounds me! I’m seriously just like a teenage daughter! My health continues to remain strong and I’m getting as much time outside when it’s cool. I’m ready for the cooler seasons. I’m going to remain a good girl and pray for my  forever home! Until then, much love and butt rubs!

Man this heat needs to go away! I wanna be outside and not melt! I have been a good girl. Still try and protect mom from my foster sister! She can’t have all the attention. Mom thinks I have put on a few pounds and looking a lot more like a bully 😂! Since I have been on my nausea medicine and my ant-acid medicine, I have not had any issues. I think we found a solid combination to my belly issues. I have healed all up on my hot spots and I’m actually in the best shape yet! Super happy dog! I’m looking forward to meeting my forever family! Until then, sending love and butt rubs!

Besides beating the heat, I have been sooo lazy!  My favorite spot is in front of the fan and stink up the house as I fart! I don’t see the problem with it but Mom and my little brother beg me to stop! I continue to get jealous over my foster mom these days. I have been starting fights with my foster sister! We have been grounded a lot more lately. I go for the ears and mom is scared to death when I start up. Mom is fair to us both and is working on my behavior! It’s not like she and I just started this! So until next week… sending a ton of love and butt rubs!

7/29/2018 Update:

Mercy here!

This week has been great! I’m healing nicely and I get some extra love and kisses! Mom feels bad! But I take my meds with no problem as Long covered in cheese and I enjoy my baths! I have been extra playful this week. I’m the cutest when I run and jump at the same time. I look like a baby goat! Me and my foster sister continue to fight over moms love and we both get grounded to our crates! I have a good appetite for food and life! I’m definitely ready to find my forever home and start placing my mark! I have marked the hearts of my fosters though! Until next week! Stay cool and I’m sending so much love and butt rubs!

7/24/2018 Update:

Mercy here!

Well this last week has been a little challenging! I freaked out my foster mom with her first experience of hot spots! I got to the vet and got a shave and wash down and now on meds! Mom is happy to see me being back to myself. She was worried but now is more experienced! My spoiled foster sister Holly has made it easier for her so, needless to say, I’m getting her knowledgeable and trained! Still using my manners and have had no accidents in the house. Mom is going to wash me down again tonight and I will just stay cool and heal! Until next week, wishing everyone love and butt rubs!

7/17/2018 Update:

Mercy here!

I have just been trying to stay cool and get as much love as I can. I continue to use my manners and follow directions. There have been some changes in the house but it doesn’t seem to affect me at all. I just give mom some extra love! My belly and reflux has been so much better and my shedding isn’t half as bad. Just waiting here at this nice home until I find my forever home! Just look at how beautiful I am! Who wouldn’t want to spoil and love me! Until next week, send so much love and butt rubs!

7/2/2018 Update:

Mercy here!

No new changes! Been behaving myself and using my house guest manners. My foster sister and I have been hitting heads lately! Not sure if it’s the heat and having to be locked in more than normal but Mom has been having to keep us separated more than normal. Other than that, all I have been doing is laying around enjoying the AC and the cold concrete. Definitely excited to find my forever home! Until next week, sending love and butt rubs!

6/24/2018 Update:

Mercy update:

Been another good week. Been surrounded by people who love me and just love and love on me! No accidents! Continuing to use my manners. Been around up to 6 kids at once and had no issues. My foster sister and myself are still doing fine together. No complaints! My foster moms are happy with my continued progress and couldn’t be happier! Health is good. Working on the reflux and getting some help from Troy and Dr H! Still praying for my forever family and staying cool! Until next week, sending so much love and butt rubs!

6/17/2018 Update:

It’s been a week full of love, some sun (by the window), and fun with kids! I do fine with other dogs and not just one kid but kids! I don’t get nervous or anything! Just love on them as they love on me. Still no accidents in the house and using my manners! Mom is going nuts over me and my foster sister shedding! She got some new oils to help with that! Still having some issues with my nausea and reflux. Definitely doing better but there are days I eat or drink and throw right back up! Going back to the vet this Friday! Fingers crossed  we find something or a combination of meds that work! Hope everyone has and had a great week! Until next week, sending love and butt rubs!

6/11/2018 Update:

Been keeping cool and outside only in the mornings or later evenings! I like to sunbathe but Mom is too scared to let me! I have been doing amazing with my manners and no accidents in the house! I continue to impress my foster moms with how good I have been and how I’m learning my good girl footy skills! I just love being the center of attention! I’m just a happy girl wanting to find my forever home! Until next week, I’m sending puppy love and butt rubs!

6/4/2018 Update:

Mercy update!

I am doing amazing! I am definitely learning my manners and taking care of my “business” outside. No accidents inside to report! Not even in my crate! I
I have taught myself this little trick, if I paw at the door, Mom knows to let me out to potty. When I want in, I paw at the door again and I get a treat or two! Me and my foster sister Holy constantly play and we have been good on not pushing boundaries and fussing with one another. I have learned to go into my own bed when I’m ready to sleep and I come out when I’m done! I got a bath and smell amazing! Mom seems to be going crazy with all of us bully’s shedding but we give her sweet kisses and she is ok! I have also managed to learn not to run out the door when it’s open. My foster moms love that and I get treats again when I do what I am told! I’m doing better on my acid reflux but sometimes is a daily wait. It’s different daily but mom watches and makes sure I’m ok. I’m finishing up meds and still on some! But I am definitely doing better! I’m just eating, sleeping, playing, farting, snoring, and enjoying the cold AC and cold concrete

5/28/2018 Update:

Mercy here! Things are going better with me. No accidents in the house or in my bed! My stomach bug is gone and my acid reflux meds have helped a ton! I’ll probably be on meds for a while. I still throw up every once in a while but definitely doing better! Still learning my new name and learning my manners! I am doing so much better at “sitting pretty” to get my treats. I always love my belly rubbed and will melt for anyone who will do it. I love people and meeting new people! No issues with feeding as my foster mom has kept me and my foster sister Holly separated at meals. I’m a quiet one but super nosey and love to be up moving a lot! I will research every corner if I can and if there are toys or shoes in the way, they become my main focus! I really enjoy sunbathing in the yard and I hate water! I’m good with a bath but not the water hose! Mom is keeping it cool for us and I’m super spoiled! Looking forward to finding my forever home! Until next time! Wishing you nothing but love and butt rubs!

5/15/2018 Update:  Mercy update:  She is definitely a puppy at heart and almost like she is starting over! We are working on the potty training still and making slow progress. She is doing amazing with her human brother and foster bully sister however, Holly is more chill and they butt heads like any sisters would. Boundaries are being made and it’s been a learning experience for ya also. She likes chewing so we push her toys as much as possible! When you go to pet her, she always falls over on her back and wants belly rubs! She melts and when you try to get her to her bed, she melts again. I laugh and say she has a walking problem because she takes 2 steps and becomes mush! Has a ton of energy and never sits still! With that being said, she is absolutely a leash dog! She likes to explore at rapid speed if you aren’t watching! Completely recommend and see her having to be feed separately as in like different room from other dogs. Not that she is aggressive but she likes to try and take others food and some just don’t like it! Loves being the center of attention and will paw at you until she has your attention! Gentle demeanor! We are struggle with a possible reflux issue as she has been getting better medically from when she first came to us. She saw Dr H and is healing from being fixed! She goes to the vet tomorrow to see about the reflux issue and I will also have them check her ears since she came with infections on both ears! It’s been trying at times but when she looks at you with that sweet face, it goes away! Mercy has made her mark in the house and is definitely breaking us into full foster training!

4/30/2018 Update:

Mercy here! Let me tell you! It’s been a BIG change in my life! I finally got the medical care I have been needing and resting with my foster family! And man do they smoother me with love! I get along with my foster sister Holly most days but she is certainly bossy and runs this house! Mom got us both a new food bowl and it definitely has helped with me slowing down on my eating! I have had a few accidents in the house but learning and my family is has been patient with my training! I do well with my foster human brother! He just loves us dogs! I do amazing in my crate! It’s all a new process and Mom tells me I’m doing amazing! Still on my meds and recovering from being fixed! Mostly I just lay around with Holly and give constant love to my foster humans! I’m super playful with my toys and roll around and look adorable when I do! I’m a sweet baby girl … but Mom tells me she can’t wait to give me another bath lol! Until then… I’m definitely getting ready for my forever family!

Lots of bully kisses and butt rubs

4/24/2018 Update:   Please welcome Mercy to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.  Mercy is a 15 month old female English Bulldog that weighs 30 lbs.

Mercy joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender. Mercy’s previous family contacted a NBBR volunteer and asked if NBBR could help Mercy find a family better suited to care for her.  When Mercy arrived to her foster home she was throwing up constantly and wasn’t breathing well.   She went directly to a local vet to determine what was occurring.  After an examination and X-rays, it appeared she may have a congenital issue where her esophagus may be constricted.  It also appeared she may have bronchitis/Upper Respiratory Infection and a severe ear infection. Mercy was put on antibiotics and a steroid to address these issues.   Mercy also needed to be spayed, so she was taken to Dr. H for them to complete the surgery and to give a second opinion on the esophagus/trachea issue.  After reviewing the X-rays the issues may be due to swelling associated with the URI. Mercy’s surgery went well and no upper trachea/esophagus issues where noted. We will be monitoring her breathing to determine if a long term treatment is required.  Mercy was also brought up to date on her vaccines and tested for Heartworm (negative).

Mercy is a petite little Bulldog lady with a BIG personality.  It doesn’t appear she has ever met a stranger, either human or canine. Mercy is very affectionate and loves to cuddle and give Bulldog kisses.  One thing you will notice with Mercy is that her tail  is going a mile a minute the entire time she is around you. She is a bundle of energy and loves to explore. After an evening at the Canine Spa (Vet clinic), Mercy will rejoin her foster family for some rest and relaxation. There will be plenty of cuddling and playing non-stop with her foster sister.  Once all rested she will start her search for her new forever family. Stay tuned for updates from Mercy on her weekly adventures.
