12/15/2021 Update:

Peanut has been ADOPTED!!!!!  Is there any better Holiday gift than a FOREVER home?   NO!!!!! So we are so excited that Peanut received EXACTLY what he wanted for Christmas- a new Mom.

Peanut joined the NBBR family as an owner surrender.   Peanut’s original owner moved and wasn’t able to take him.   The initial plan was that Peanut would have a new family.  That plan fell apart when the family’s current dog was being mean to Peanut.  There was a considerable size difference, and the family was scared that Peanut would be hurt.   The family member contacted Peanut’s original owner and it was decided that it would be best if Peanut found a new home, where he would be safe.   NBBR was contacted and as they say, “the rest is history”. Like all new intakes with NBBR, Peanut’s first stop was the clinic to determine what treatment(s) he would need.   Peanut got a clean bill of health and was deemed “good to go”.   Peanut was already neutered and up to date on his shots, so he was truly “good to go”.  (This is VERY rare for a new member to the family, usually they arrive with something that needs addressed.) Peanut’s story changed a little when he arrived at his foster home.  While Peanut is great with other dogs while he is out and about, when it comes to living with them- that is a little trickier.  Peanut is a very particular little guy and wants things HIS way and will fight to get things his way.   After reviewing his history, we think Peanut may have been the instigator in his previous home and when the larger dog defended themselves, THEY got the blame because it couldn’t have been “sweet little Peanut” (yes it could).

We decided that while Peanut “could” live with another dog (if the personalities meshed AND with a lot of work and slow introductions), it would be in everyone’s best interest that Peanut be an only dog where he could be the King of his Castle.   This excluded many applicants that were interested in him.   However, we received a TON of applications.  When a puppy comes into Rescue applications soar in number.   This does not change our process, it slows things down since we have so many more applications to process, but we are still looking for the best fit for the DOG.   As a side note, offering to pay more than the adoption fee, threatening or harassing our volunteers does not help your application.  Now back to Peanut.   While Peanut was chillin’ at his foster home, his forever Mom had previously met him at a No Borders event.  On the surface they appeared to be a GREAT fit.    This would be a new adventure for her, having had English Bulldogs previously and she wanted to make sure that a French would be a good fit for her.  So, she went home, thought through the pros and cons and decided to apply.  After completing the Adoption gauntlet, she was approved and a Meet and Greet was scheduled.   All went well and it was decided that Peanut had found his forever home.  While we were completing the final stages, Forever Mom learned that she would be moving to AZ for her career.   She quickly asked if Peanut would be up for a road trip.  Luckily for her, Peanut LOVES car rides AND he had already packed his bags and was ready to go.   Congratulations to the happy “couple”, we are sure that their adventures will be exciting and give them plenty of memories and time to bond.

11/1/2021 Update:

The last 2 weekends have been a blast.  Foster mom and I have been hanging out a lot.  Last weekend we got up early and went on a long walk. We visited foster mom’s workout buddies.  I like them a lot because they give me lots of attention.  I helped my foster mom clean the house and then we snuggled on the couch watching movies.

This weekend I literally followed her every step.  I was under her feet and I might have tripped her a few times.  I just do not like her to be out of my site.  I helped her paint a closet and got a little paint on my nose and head.  At least I had less paint on me than she did.

I’m super excited about next weekend because I get to hang out with all my other foster friends at the bulldog event.  Please make sure you come by to visit.  We will be at the Legal Draft Company in Arlington, Tx.  Hope to see you there.

10/21/2021 Update:

Peanut is back!  My foster mom has been on vacation for two weeks so she has not posted anything amazing about me lately.  Yes, I am amazing.  I am super cute, lovable, playful, & energetic.  While my foster mom was on vacation my favorite babysitter came and stayed with me.  She is so fun.  We went on walks, chased cats, watched movies, and I even got to meet her family.  They were very nice.  They thought I was adorable.  When foster mom returned I was so happy to see her.  I bounced around her like a bunny rabbit for about 10 minutes giving her kisses and licks.  She then gave me a bath.  I like baths as long as you make it quick.  It felt good to be clean.

I meet a few neighborhood dogs on my walks.  Abby was fun to play with but Daisy was not so fun.  Daisy did not seem to like me.  Oh well that is her loss.  For the most part I seem to like other dogs as long as they don’t mind me barking and bouncing on top of them.  Lol!.  Well that is all from me.  Hope to see everyone at the next event now that my foster mom is back from her travels.

10/6/2021 Update:

Good morning everyone!  Peanut here!  Boy has life been changing for me.  My foster buddy, Loki, found his forever home 2 weeks ago.  Even though sometimes we would get into fights, I sure did miss him the first few days.  Yes, even though I look like the sweetest, cutest and most loveable Frenchie you have ever seen, I can sometimes be ornery .  I would get sometimes get jealous and want all the attention from foster mom.  I want to eat my food and your food to.  I want my toys and bones and all your toys and bones also.  That being said, my foster mom is still trying to decide if I need to be an only dog.  Foster mom will be babysitting another dog in a couple of weeks so she will keep everyone post on if I got along with that dog.
I went to my first No Borders Bulldog Event 2 weeks ago.  I had a blast.  Got a lot of attention which everyone knows that I love attention.  It was a little warm outside so I was glad to get back into the air conditioned car.  I slept all the way home.
Foster mom went on a 3 day vacation over the weekend.  My new friend Sasha, came and stayed with me.  She was so fun.  We went on walks, hang out on the couch, and snuggled in the bed at night time.  I like it when she babysits me.
Well, that is it from Peanut.  Hope everyone has a great week and weekend.

9/13/2021 Update:

Hello everyone,

Peanut here!  I have been with our new foster mom for a little over two weeks now.  My foster brother and I have all gotten to know each other and seem to get along well.  I like to eat, play, and sleep. So far I have learned how to go in and out of the doggie door.  We have both been working on the potty training and we are doing better but will still go on the pee pee pads when foster mom is at work.  It’s a work in progress but we will eventually get there.  Foster mom has changed our diet and our bellies are a little upset but she said the food is much better for our skin and digestive system.  It is yummy food and we are sure we will adjust.

This weekend a new friend came over to visit.  Her name is Izzy.  She is a pitbull and very nice.  We played with her until she had enough and then we all got into a tiff.  We were all separated and all was good.  No one got hurt.  We also went to a nice dog park.  We ran for a few minutes and decided it was too hot outside.  Foster mom took us home where there was A/C and we all took a short nap.

My favorite part of our day is in the evening, when foster mom gets home.  We go on an evening walk, eat dinner, and then snuggle on the couch.  Then it’s time for bed.  Yes, we sleep in bed with foster mom.  Her bed is so comfy.  She even bought stairs for us to use to get on her bed. It’s a tall bed and she does not want us to hurt ourselves.

Well, that is all.  I am super excited to meet everyone at our first bulldog event.

9/7/2021 Update:

Hi!  My name is Peanut.  I am a 1 year old male with lots of energy. My original owner moved out of state and I was staying with a friend.  The temporary place that I was staying at had a big dog that was not very nice to me so I was surrendered to “No Borders Bulldog Rescue”.  I have been with my new foster mom for a few days now. She has introduced me to another French Bulldog and Border Collie that I have been playing with all weekend.  Sometimes I get so excited that I will bark and bark and bark at the other 2 dogs because I love playing with my new friends.  The barking eventually annoys the other 2 dogs and they will stop playing with me.  I wish they understood that I am still a puppy and just want to have fun.
I came with a crate but I have not had an interest in sleeping in it since I have been with my new foster mom. I have been sleeping with my foster mom at the foot of the bed and so far I am a quiet sleeper. I have learned to go in and out of the doggie door.  I will due my business outside on the rocks and grass which makes my foster mom happy.
That is all from me “Peanut” for now.  Foster mom will give everyone a new update next week.

9/5/2021 Update:

Please welcome Peanut to No Borders Bulldog Rescue.   Peanut is a 13 month old male French Bulldog that weighs 26 lbs.

Peanut joins the NBBR family as an owner surrender.   Peanut’s owner moved and wasn’t able to take him.   The initial plan was that Peanut would have a new family.  That plan fell apart when the family’s current dog was being mean to Peanut.  There was a considerable size difference and the family was scared that Peanut would be hurt.   The family member contacted Peanut’s original owner and it was decided that it would be best if Peanut found a new home, where he would be safe.   NBBR was contacted and as they say “the rest is history”

Like all new intakes with NBBR, Peanut’s first stop was the clinic to determine what treatment(s) he would need.   Peanut got a clean bill of health and was deemed “good to go”.   Peanut was already neutered and up to date on his shots, so he was truly “good to go”.  (This is VERY rare for a new member to the family, usually they arrive with something that needs addressed.)

Peanut is ALL Frenchie puppy (full of energy).  Peanut can be a little timid when meeting new humans, but he warms up quickly.   While he is cautious with humans, other dogs are a complete different story.   When Peanut went to meet his potential new foster brother,  he immediately started barking and wanted nothing else than to play.  We continued with our slow introduction protocol.   The meeting went very well.   Foster brother was “secured” in the front seat and Peanut was secured in the backseat.  While both boys were chilling in the AC, our volunteer and their foster Mom was busy loading up Peanut’s things.   Peanut is VERY rare in that most new surrenders arrive with nothing, NOT Peanut.  Peanut arrived with a basket of toys, grooming supplies and a very nice container of food.   When all the supplies had been loaded and foster mom went to get in the car, she found BOTH boys in the backseat.   It appears that foster brother wanted to chill with his new buddy and not in the front seat.  When there is a will there is a way, and clearly foster brother did not want Peanut to be back there by himself.    Currently Peanut is adjusting to his new digs and from all accounts doing well.  Stay tuned for future updates as we learn more about Mr. P’s personality and what makes him tick.   Welcome to the family little guy, you are in great hands.
