8/2/2026 Update:

Please welcome Tessa to the No Borders Bulldog Rescue.  Tessa is a 4-year-old female English Bulldog that weighs 51 lbs.

Tessa joins the NBBR family by way of owner surrender.   Her previous family had some changes in their family live and were no longer able to provide the pair the life that they knew they deserved. Tessa was spending many hours in a crate.  So many that it was impacting her health. They reached out to No Borders Bulldog Rescue and asked if we would be able to help.  In the Rescue world, summer is a very season.  Actually, every season is busy, but summer is even more so than the others.  Like many of our new Bulldogs, Tessa was not “local”. Nor was her foster family or were the surrendering family and foster family close to one another.  As you can see, this isn’t a “no” to helping but it does require additional logistical steps.  Transport Team jumped into action and made it happen (once again).

The first stop for Tessa was to the clinic to get all the necessary checks for her to be cleared to go to her new foster home.  We knew she needed to be spayed but she had not been to the vet for a while, so we got a complete check-up.   All in all, we received a good report on Miss T.  The “major” things all came back good. She is heartworm negative and free of any GI bugs.   However, she did have a couple of “other” Bulldog issues.  She has a skin infection, eye infection, skin infection and a UTI. The term the clinic used was a “hot mess”.  Never fear though, the “hot mess” will be back to princess form in no time. She was started on a couple different antibiotics to address the various infections.   We also updated all her vaccinations, and she was good to go. Due to the busy summer schedule, the clinic isn’t able to get her spayed for a couple weeks, BUT it has been scheduled.  This also gives her a couple of weeks to heal from the infections prior to surgery as suggested by the clinic staff.

Tessa is a super sweet and chill kinda girl.  But she does have an assertive side. When she wants attention, she will do the infamous Bulldog paw swat to say “hey, I’m here and you need to pet me”.  It appears that she has never met a stranger: human, dog, cat you name it, he loves them all. Draco came from a house with lots of grandkids of every age, so she is used to the hustle and bustle of a busy household.  However, she does enjoy a nice quiet environment where she can relax and enjoy some “Tessa time”.  Tessa has joined her foster to adopt family, and we received a text about 4 hours later stating: “We already love her”.  So, things are going well. Stay tuned for more updates from Tessa’s foster family as they learn the ins and outs of this gals personality and what makes her tick.
